- My dad's Christmas bigger trees have been neglected over the past few years and they need to be trimmed up so they can be sold this year and so that they can be shaped better for the next few seasons. So today I trim a bunch of them up!
#firewood #treefarming Хобби
I planted one hundred trees thirty years ago and they were planted in very good soil. They grew so fast that they never made good Christmas trees. To tall and branches to far apart. Thirty years growth and I have a natural cover for my cows. They love to bed down under my Christmas trees. They push in through the lower branches along the outside and in the middle they get away from the flys. Out of the wind in the winter. The trees are so valuable to my cows. It’s the only patch of woods in my pasture. I wrote this before the end of the video. I am hoping that in this video there will be no cats.
Yup, trees are great. Are you afraid of cats?? Ha! Just kidding, I understand.
I love all of your videos. This one for some reason is my new favorite video of yours.
Thanks so much for watching!
Good Saturday morning Chris!
Hello Bobby!!!!
Like giving trees a haircut, and you being the barber.

This is pretty awesome! Im thinking I should get some to plant on my property for the view. Love the look of a balsam. Cheers Chris 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Go for it! Thanks!
I don't celebrate any holidays but, it's nice to see people keeping it alive. GNI
Sorry to hear that. you should give it a try, it's fun.
@@InTheWoodyard No need to be sorry Chris. I live alone with one cat. It would be different, if I had kids though.
I sure hope you get some footage of your dad. He’s a hoot!!
He is "special".
Dang, that looks like really good Honey Bee area. If I was closer, I would definitely be hitting you up for a place! I planted 1500 trees this spring in the hope that I can sell some as they grow and in 30 years whatever is left will be logged.
Keep planting every year!
Beautiful property!!! Glad y'all can help your Dad!!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day and
Yup, thanks!
Say Hi! to dear ole Dad for us.
He is lucky to have you and your brothers helping him out.
Will do, thanks!
Hi Chris!!😀😀
Nice job!!👍👍
Hey, thanks Al!
What on incredible piece of property! You are lucky to have access to that.
YUP.
Nice video/job Chris. So Christmas tree farming (like any other type of farming) is truly a labor of love. Respect for the resources on this green earth is something either in your blood or not. Well done caretaker. GNI
Yup, thanks!
That's a hard, repetitive, type of love on those trees Chris.... Can't call it work, it's more dedication and devotion , appreciation for your dad's work ethic over the years... Much appreciated by this old guy...GNI
Thanks.
U broke my heart Chris when you said the land would be sold for houses ! YUCK ........ lol
A bunch of the land is in the city limits and there are no more lots for sale there so it is inevitable that some day it will be developed.
Sounds like a nice little hunting area for you and your brother...
Looks like you and your brother need to pick a day or 2 and come out with your tractors with bush hogs and hit it a good lick
Yup, my brother and his family shoot deer there every year I have not hunted there since I was a teenager.
Good morning Chris nice Land love it and Christmas wow nice ( ty Ron )
Thanks!
The trees that you trimmed look real nice.
Thanks!
🤘Husqvarna needs to make you some Santa PPE
Yup, or a bunch of free advertising gear!
Wow 🤩
Thanks!
Early merry Christmas with to many trees all I want for Christmas 2 full cord of oak wood lol
That is a good wish!
Learned something new. Living in the city, yiu just go to the store, pick out a tree and bounce it on the ground, just like Clark Griswald. If the needles stay on you buy it.
I can smell the pine from here. One year my parents bought Joe and myself a real tree that we could set up in the three season room. I can smell the old bulbs and hear my mother telling us how to put the tinsel on the tree. The tinsel was from the frst batch that RJ Reynolds made. Each year the tinsel was saved.
The indoir tree was a aluminum silver tree that two disks rotated with four colors. The tree sat on a spinning stand that had a music box that played Christmas music.
That era ended when i did something to piss my mother off and she grabbed the closest thing she could find. She had one section of the center pole to the tree. She chased me through the house wuth this pole at the ready, over the top of her head. I flew diwn the basement steps and i heard a woosh go past my right ear. I thought i was going to die. The pole was made of balsa wood. It hit my shoulder, snapped in half and it did not even hurt. I stirred the pot more by rolling on the basement floor laughing as she said because the pole touched me last, i broke it.
That is a good one!
Good morning
Hello!
You act like you have trimmed a few trees before. It looks easy when you do it but I am sure it is labor intensive. You are a work horse. Gotta keep moving. It is nice that you and your brothers take time to help your dad. I have 2 daughters and son-in-laws that don't understand how families are supposed to work.
Thanks 👍, I like to get stuff done and help people when they need it not when I feel like it.
You do get stuff done and it is a lot better for the person you are helping. Us older guys see stuff that needs done, and can't do it, and it frustrates us. Can't get young people to work any more. That is why I am impressed by Gavin.@@InTheWoodyard
Chris,it’s going to be a huge challenge but I know that you will get it done ✅ 😮😊❤
I will do as much as I have time for.
Here in far western Wisconsin this morning it’s 49degrees and feels like corn harvest and deer hunting. Keep on cutting
We had 39 this morning here.
Good evening; great content on the channel; so I have subscribed. I hope you could a planting and Christmas tree site preparation one say.
Yup, maybe so.
Great piece of property. Put that land in a conservation trust, or something similar, so it can’t be developed but you and your family can always work on it. I’m assuming you have a tree farm for tax purposes. Always wondered how Xmas trees were trimmed, think I’ll order some saplings and plant them on our property. Love you video’s.
Yup, trees do help with taxes...forest crop
👍👍👍
Thanks!
Do you guys ever mow between the trees to get around better?
no, not for us. when the trees are real small yes so they get as much sun as possible.
Would it add to the growth of the trees if the area around the was brush hogged?
no, not once they get to about 2' tall. when they are young yes.
Good Morning Woodhounds!!
Hello!
Did you bring a Ladder for the 30 footer?😊😊😊
Nope, once they are over 10-12 feet they are on their own.
Hello from Chicago! Do all the grass and weeds stunt the trees growth? Would it be beneficial to weed wack or bushhog it once or twice a year?
just when they are small once they get about 2' tall they do not have a problem.
BEE'S ARE AWESOME
Yup, but honey is better!!!
Interesting video.. Just curious, how old is an 8 ft tree?
It depends on growing conditions, soil, water, fertilizer, pruning amount, sun hours each day but anywhere from 8-12 or so.
Amazing how fast Mother Nature can take over! You almost need 1 man with just a pole saw taking out doubles and underbrush, while another one trims. Looks like the place could use all 3 brothers for a solid week easily...
Does your Dad have a tree shaker and bagger as well?
Do the deer not bother these type of trees?
Thanks for the Xmas tree edumacation!👍
Yup, mother nature and the all time world champ...time. Oh and the other champ...gravity.
No shaker, buck rubs, thanks for being edumacationable.
🌲👍🏻👏🌲
Thanks!
G’morning Chris. Really cool to see. Are you taking this over as a 3rd enterprise ?
GoodNightIrene
No, I already have more than 3! Photography, firewood, youtube, hunting, trapping, fishing, body building, pole dancing, moon shine production, growing medicinal plants, gold mining, solving world hunger, modeling underwear, running for president and a few bigger things too.
I knew you were talented,,, but dang !!
Kalo ke rumput bisa gak ya
Do you mean cut the grass? No need to once the trees get about 2' tall.
45°F and 94% humidity here in Ashville Ohio this morning folks!!
It's feelin Christmasy round here!!
Just east of Clinton, La it’s getting hot and more droughty. So yeah, it’s getting more Christmasy here too!
