    Just the fact that Insta360 partners with FPV companies makes me excited. GoPro would never do that because we are too "niche" for them. If they could just get the price to $200 I think they would sell a ton of them

    • @NURKFPV
      @NURKFPV  3 года назад +20

      Insta360 has REALLY steered into FPV since the go 1 came out. They saw what we wanted to do, and made a lot of improvements to that product, and then the go2 launched with FPV modes and whatnot. And now they're working to give us what we want!

      Record time technically the same. The great thing for me is power plug. Go2 battery life was 30mins starting at max full battery. So I do one long range. Or if left on awhile getting things ready and tested Then the battery is dead and has to charge.
      Also Go2 full front is button. So starts recording everytime you put it in a case lol

    Really curious about the durability. I have very bad experience with Caddx Orca. I’ve seen tons of reviews, all of them were awesome. When I got the camera it met my expectations, but after one mild crash WiFi stopped working (so no access to camera settings anymore) and after another 2 crashes the camera stopped working entirely. So for FPV purposes it was super fragile, wonder about this one, but I’ll bet it will be the same story 😒

    Was hoping this camera to actually replace our caddx nebula (digital + onboard recording would be awesome x)

  • @lui472
    @lui472 3 года назад +1

    So it's bigger, heavier, not waterproof, lower framerate (go2 can record up to 120 FPS), doesn't have a protective case, with a screen for settings in the field (the Bluetooth to a phone workflow drains the battery extremely quickly).
    Seems like the go2 is still the way to go, unless you really need to turn on the recording from the drone, and don't want to buy a cheap mount and ND filters.
    If the peanut didn't have a built-in battery, and could be powered through those 3 wires, this would be very interesting. It could have been a perfect micro drone camera.

    • @NURKFPV
      @NURKFPV  3 года назад

      It's waterproof. Go2 can't record 120 fps as far as I know.
      Personally, for me go2 is still my preferred, but if someone wants to save 60 bucks on the switchblade case thing, cause they don't want those features, then I think it's an awesome option. I'm going to try to work with caddx to get one made without a battery.

    • @lui472
      @lui472 3 года назад

      @@NURKFPV The go2 records in 120fps but is limited to 1080 then. It's in the slowmotion setting. For 1440 it's only 50 fps. Is it possible the caddax also have a slowmotion mode since its basically the same camera?
      I haven't seen anything about it being waterproof so assumed it wasn't. Where did you find that information?
      I agree. It's not a bad camera. And 60 bucks is 60 bucks. Still not worth it in my opinion to cheap out when the go2 have all the extra features. But some people might be on a very tight budget and then this camera seems very good.
      I'm behind you on the battery thing 1000%.
      And great video btw. Keep up the good work!

    since the mount is different to GoPro, does it fit somewhat on a standard gopro-mount that's already on the drone?

    Dear Paul,
    What FPV drone do you recommend for a first FPV drone that is quiet, large enough to add a small camera (like the peanut), do tricks, and still under 250 grams ?
    Thank you !
    - Mark

    THATS how I thought it should minus the vivid which isnt a biggie. I was watching "Painless360's" fly his peanut around and the footage was very "jerky" if you know what I mean. At least to my eye. HE DID SAY none of the camera setting were changed for that videos flights. I wasnt sure if that problem would have been the stabilization in post or what. So the peanut HAS to be used with stabilization? Id only fly it on my relaxed sub250 stuff Im MORE curious if my i5-7400/gtx1060 PC can run that editor?

    Damnn waited all this time for a go2….. go on the naked forum on Facebook and everyone wanted a lighter go2. [something around 10~15 grams] but they made it a gram heavier?? What a let down

      This is where I’m at too. If it was lighter it would make sense.
      The new features just aren’t that exciting for me, definitely won’t replace my go2. Maybe next time, Insta360 guys.

      I really don't understand why you guys care about a difference of a few grams when it weighs practically nothing. Is it a joke or something?

    • @NURKFPV
      @NURKFPV  2 года назад

      If it could go down a few grams you could get it on a whoop sized drone, which would be incredible. It would be so small and undetectable and you could fly through anything or anywhere

    Thanks for a great review Nurk! One question, I know that people would want to use this camera on smaller drones, and not 5 inch 6S freestyle rigs. But if you did want to use this with a 6s battery, the included regular wouldn't suffice right? It works only up to 4s?

    • @NURKFPV

      No, because the magnet cables won't stay connected to the camera because the standard camera doesn't have the grooves in the back to help lock the cables in place .
