Big YES! on the Lat. 38. I'm the "cork dork" at a GO in the SD area. Always recommend it highly, especially its generous 14.3%.....for a PN.
I think of GO as a well varied wine store that happens to be attached to a grocery store. Some gems we get are QPR wines that way overperform.
Cool blending exercise! My Trifecta Trinity would be an equal parts Tannat, Sagrantino d'MF and Garnacha Tintorera....at 15.6% and aged at least a dozen years :D

Give it a try especially if you have wines from the same producer. A blend can sometimes cover all the weaknesses and give you a better wine! But I wouldn't recommend this with anything you spent more than $50 for! hahah.

I loved the blending of the Pinots. Great touch. Impressive to catch that each had what the other was missing, and then to put them together to make them better. Only a real sommelier could do that. I doubt they teach that in the WSET program.
