Imagine being that guitar player, completely going off on a killer solo, nailing it on live TV, and camera man just casually pans away from you for an extended shot of Chuck Mangione playing the keyboard next to you.
Growing up watching King of the Hill, I always assumed that Chuck Mangione was a fictional character created for the show. I had no idea he was an actual guy, haha.
I'm here because of King of the Hill. I loved that all the songs Chuck played ended up transforming into feels so good one of the funniest running gags in the series 🤣
2024.......and it STILL feels good! I was 15 when this song came out. When my radio went off to wake me for school, this would be playing. I believe I was in a good mood for the rest of the day! Lol
My dad used to play this record on Saturday nights, late seventies/early eighties. Now me and my son listen to with my dad. My 17 y/o son loves this song as much as i do.
I was a young teen when this song came out. It was such a wonderful time to be alive. This song reminds me of so many things. I wish today’s music had this kind of integrity and style.
I was 7 when this was released. I had no idea who he was, had a head full of hair and played the trumpet on the sofa during an interview. I was spellbound, just like I am now!
@merryxmaswarisover: I was born in 1968. When this song came out it was on all a.m. radio channels. Yes, it also reminds me of the times with my father.
He got it right!!! It does feel so good. Being a kid in the back of a station wagon, loving life. Thinking about what I was going to do for the weekend and what toons to watch on a Saturday morning. Life was simple and soooooo good
Simpler times. I'm so grateful I was a kid in the 70's - 80's. Life was wonderful. No tech distractions. Summer's that seemed to last forever. After cartoons and breakfast was over on Saturday morning, me and my siblings were kicked out of the house where we played with friends all day and early evening. We would return at 6 p.m. for dinner and then beg to go out some more. That is a time that will never happen again...at least in my lifetime. By the way, I still remember the TV ad that every night stated, "It's 11:00 p.m. Do you know where your children are?" Yes, life was quite safe back then and we rarely locked our doors.
My grandparents ised to play this sometimes at the donner table ... God I miss a civilized world. This song embodies peace and family to me. I miss tthem so much

This song brings me back to 9 years old- the happiest time of my life, brings me back to my grandmother, the summer, ban de sole- the smell of her cigarette when the match touched the end.. that first puff. So delightful.. want to be there again
What i like is, all the musicians/instruments are playing a prominent role in this song...Mangione isn't having them have a lesser role and drowning out their sound... Great Song
