They actually are OGs - fire reaction gents. As for who writes - as an older dude from south London, there are soooo many uses of old slang & references that just aren't used in modern London any more. I even get frustrated that no one picks up on them in reactions. This tells me that even if they weren't fully writing, they have a heavy hand in the process but I'm inclined to believe it's them.
I love these guys. I'm not a HUGE rap fan, but I do love the early stuff from my childhood (1980s and some 90s) but I respect it A LOT. To me it's similar to scatting - would anyone say Ella's scatting wasn't musical? Of course not! My theory with Pete and Bas is that cockney rhyme slang is a kind of street talk you find in working class neighborhoods - spoken with swagger by guys whose dealings aren't strictly legal - ( of course that doesn't mean everyone who speaks it is a criminal,.). These guys have been speaking this kind of lingo all their lives so I think it's not as huge a leap to imagine they'd be able to translate that to rap and found they had a talent for it that took them the extra mile. Great reaction guys!!!!!
Pete goes absolutely nuclear on the second verse! You should check out Whirlybird and Quick 1-2! Whirlybird has the fastest bars I've heard from these guys and Quick 1-2 has wordplay that rivals any of the all time great hip hop wordsmiths.
pete and bas are legit old skool gangsters from london town back in the day one of them use to roll with a well known gangland family from south london the other dad use to run illeagle bare knuckle boxing fight club in london and he use to also fight as bare knuck boxer we are talking in the 1960,s
They are said to have ties to one of the UK's hardest gangs the Richardson gang also known as the Torture Gang. Pete has claimed to have been a runner for them and Bas was at some point a bare-knuckle fighter and the two ran around with each other. Yes, Pete and Bas said they write their stuff and their grandkids just help with modern word usage. There is a video of them being interviewed about it.
The bars by Bas ending with effing Peter Pan - that just sounds so "old school gangsters" from London in the 50s and 60s. And as someone from the Midlands in the UK - their accents are just the best for this type of music. They are the best
That whole Peter Pan bar is outstanding. The delivery is first class, and with both fellas their flow gives you a whole picture and vibe, of what they are spitting.
Check out "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", and "Snatch", by Guy Ritchie. It will explain a lot. And they're both really enjoyable movies. I think you'll enjoy them both.
I do love seeing these guys! ❤❤😂❤❤. I do have a suggestion.... Humble Pie singing "I Don't Need No Doctor" performing in Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special... Nov 30th 1973. ❤❤❤❤
These guys, Pete & Bazz, could have provided the soundtrack to a Guy Ritchie movie e.g. Lock Stock & Two Smokin Barrels, RocknRolla, Snatch…Pure movie soundtrack fire 🔥🔥🔥
You guys need to check out their other songs, they have a pretty big catalog of music they've released in the past few years. This is a serious rabbit hole.
Please try to react to Body Count doing a cover/version of "Comfortably Numb" (yes that one from Pink Floyd), with the one and only Mr. David Gilmour shredding the guitar. You'll be amazed. If you don't know, Body Count are a american metal band with the rapper Ice-T on vocals. Keep rockin. Peace
I love your show guys I just caught it on RUclips for the first time. There's a couple of songs you guys should check out Patches by Clarence Carter. What will it take Junior Walker & the All-Stars.
I’m surprised these guys haven’t dropped Olliwood from the channel. He clearly suffers shrinkage in each of their P&B reaction vids. His ego can’t take it so he’s compelled to discredit these legends when they deserve ardor and accolades.
I understand the need for authenticity in rap, but I wish musicians were expected to be good musicians and not hyper violent criminals. Johnny Cash didn't shoot a man just to watch him die, but the song still hit
Bas told me about you geezers, but i didn't believe him. 3 really old dudes reacting to the flyest sh.t around. Crazy world, never underestioldmates...
Check out their grandkids, Nine & Dex- pecan pie, ignorant shit, Jesus piece. They help with their beats and lyrics. They have crazy word play as well.
Ya in luck they just dropped an album : ruclips.net/video/dlwSKyYA3y0/видео.html also they work with there grandsons Nine and Dex whom are music creator too
I know you guys are all over the musical spectrum but I feel like it's important to mention the artist Token to you. Ive seen him mentioned in the comments before and I don't think you guys want to sleep on him. This is from 10 years ago and I still get my mind blown. ruclips.net/video/Syu9dEl3WKs/видео.htmlsi=kCv149ovN_tKKwpk
Repeat the Pan analogy, he said if you go back and listen Sacramento in a sudden package of grain. Another word Guinea said Peter Pan each a f****** meaning. F*** to f*****, that's what you're saying.
Fenom is right. I was enjoying it, thinking it was cute...but they were saying the MOST vile, offensive things. There would be Congressional hearings if Black rappers were releasing new music with these lyrics lol. Double standards never go away.
if you think their lyrics were the "most vile and offensive" then you know nothing about the "black rappers" you claim aren't releasing things worse... Hell, listen to Brotha Lynch Hung, guarantee you wouldn't think there was any double standards about this subject then.
@@MrPhoKingAwesome I get what you are saying but the reaction to the lyrics to WAP made the news, did they not? And did you miss all the segments on the magazine type talk shows, about whether the singers were positive role models for young women? I've yet to hear anything about this song.
No they too good to be a novelty. If your rapping better that 90% of rappers Novelty days are well and truly over.....You guys seem to be holding back when making comments though.
Bas is actually a solicitor, actor and a jazz pianist whilst Pete is an ex postal worker....sorry guys but Bas' voice is actually Dex from Nine & Dex the producers. They are not related in any way, supposedly grandsons.
This video proves ANYONE can rhyme. Sure they can rhyme, but realistically this is just a gimmick with silly lyrics. Rap is for those who have no real musical talent. ZERO
Whirlybird, Slap the stick, quick 1-2, stepped into the building, sindhu sesh, … they are all fire
I will second ALL of those
🔥🔥🔥All the P's of Peter Piper for Peter and B's and Bish Bash Bosh for Bas. That Peter Pan bar is line of the year vfor me. 🤯
Yeah guys their album dropped 22/11/2024, check it out.
(That's 11/22/2024 in American)
@@elbruces yeah sorry mate, I dont speak American but thanks for clearing it up for everyone.
And they've got a mixtape

This was the song if theirs that sent me down the rabbit hole; Glad you liked it too. Commenting for the algorithm, thanks for the good time.
Thanks for listening

I’ve already bought the Album. It’s Album of the year 😊❤
So nice, played it twice.
Kudos to y'all for pronouncing "Bas" correctly!
You'd be surprised how many people say it wrong.
I'm not sure anyone outside of London's south/east can grasp just how cool it is to see this language travelling so well in hip hop form.
They write their own lyrics...and have and still do actually live that ish no cap
Slap The Stick and Whirlybird are
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm a 59 year old fool , I freaking love this shit. We need more of this music . Thanks to their crew and your crew ! 🤟😎
Bish Bash Bosh means job done fast
Now action men fire 🔥🔥🔥
But these guys did live that life. That’s why it’s so believable. They did time. They also write their own words.

Bish, bash, bosh my Dad would be in his 90s and use to say that, shake his hands meaning job done, imo! 👵🇬🇧
The album just came out. It’s called Mugshot. They have a lot of new songs on RUclips that are all great.

For a seasonal change of pace, check out Pete and Bas’ ”You Know It’s Christmas”.

Pete and Bas Whirlybird guys!
"Voice viagra" is such a concept.
😂😂😂😂😂
One of them if true used to run with the Richarson mob who were rivals to the krays and the other was a bear knuckle fighter in the east end, Real OGs
Everything they do is fire, Dex and nine their grandkids are aslo good
Welcome again, now are you guys really ready this time?. Go check out the "Mugshot" album and "Whirlybird" that plays before "Bish, Bash, Bosh".🔥🔥🔥

They do have an album out! React to that, lots of people are.
Yardies Jamaican Gangsters
If you guys haven't done it yet you need to check out Quick 1-2.
You need to do John Farnham - You’re the voice. Proper 80s anthem that you haven’t done yet. You liked ‘Shout’ by Tears for Fears so you’ll love this.

You all should check out Action Man.
their grandkids write the lyrics for them but they do put some old slang , you might need to check nine and sex (grandkids)
The northern boys are something to be observed.
Pecan Pie
Check out Locksmith-signs
You have to listen to Golf. Pete runs down what he was doing in different years of his life.
Europeans invented "Gangster" and exported it to the Americas...
Did you see the "p" bars an then switched to the "b" bars? Pete & Bass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Better luck next time lyrics is relating to the police raid on Petes house where they didn't find anything. There is a video of it somewhere.
Corey, caramel or peanut butter Twix? Right or left Twix?
Caramel Twix all day! Right or Left Twix?....so good I gotta have them both. 😃 I start with the right and finish with the left. 😊 -- Corey Roy
@thisisitreactions I like them both, but caramel is where it's at. I like getting the little Halloween sized ones the best.

I understand the need for authenticity in rap, but I wish musicians were expected to be good musicians and not hyper violent criminals. Johnny Cash didn't shoot a man just to watch him die, but the song still hit
