I think I had just gotten up to the part where David was joining the skybacks. But not to the part with the expedition to the land beneath or the part where the carnivores attacked.
Honestly such a nostalgia trip! I remembered watching a show as a kid of students training to ride pterodactyl's went on google and got this! It's crazy how much I loved this show and just remembering how bad I felt for the main character, having to fall off that pterodactyl mechanic bull thing so many times lol
I've finally found it after days of searching dinosaur movie, white stones, carnivores, pteradon... I was really starting to think this was just some odd dream. I even forgot there were talking dinosaurs.
I remember as a little girl I had to put in different DVD's after watching specific parts but god did I love it. I always considered it to be a movie up until I checked it out. I can still recall that wooden legged guy's involvement, the baby Triceratops, the ride on one of those Petrodactyle related dinosaurs, the scene where they bring back all those stones at the end,the plane crashlanding. The brother's falling off the fals, the Tyrannosaurus attack, and the boys being put in a cage. I also remember the flying dinosaurs on the attack at night. I remember how the main guy never gave up trying to get good on the auto-saddle. I still remember that quirky dinosaur getting out of the bag in the sewer but how he did is unknown to me or just forgotten. OH I ALSO REMEMBER THE BIRD MESSENGERS! This is a series for those who enjoyed Jurassic Park or any other enjoyable dinosaur movie. This sure is a memorable dinosaur series. I sure love a good dinosaur series. Dinotopia rocks, enough said! :D

I got the DvD('s) when they came out, because the person givng it thought I loved dinosaurs....which I didn't....so I said thank you and put it aside for years. Then after about 8 or 9 years later I rediscovered this dvd set and gave it a try..... I think I saw it at least once a year ever since.
Bro, this movie was my childhood. I'll be honest, I never really liked or cared about dinosaurs, but the idea of humans forming civilization with dinosaurs still interested me. I was roughly 6 (in 2000) when my dad read me A Land Apart from Time and The World Beneath and to this day, they're still some of my favorite books from my childhood.
love this movie great story and the effects are really good, acting's pretty damn good too the only thing is you got to have a lot of time on your hands to watch it, it is so long but really good I read a book at my school's library about dinotopia, the characters are a little different , it's a father and son instead of 2 brothers but the story's pretty much the same
I already read and loved the books. The exquisite illustrations made me yearn to jump into those pictures and live among all those amazing dinosaurs and peaceful people. This just isn't as good and I doubt any movie can approach them. The same is true of the original dinosaur novel called The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle, from which there was never made a really good movie. On the plus side, this is definitely way better than "The Flintstones".
That thing was so cool... I remember watching it in French when i didn't know a single shit about english xD I really damn hope it's still available on streaming platforms or like torrent websites ! Can't wait to do a Dinotopia marathon xD
This movie introduced me to Dinotopia. It was an amazing event at the time, but it doesn't compare to the books. Even if you don't like reading, you'll find James Gurney's well written and beautifully illustrated books to be far more amazing than the tv series. I strongly recommend it for any fan of the miniseries, those curious about Dinotopia, or anyone that loves a good science fiction, fantasy, and/or adventure book.

Dinotopia was absolutely one of my favorite childhood movies since I was little and dinosaurs are still my favorite creatures . It almost feels like a connection to Jurassic park lost world Jurassic World camp creatacous fallen kingdom and dominion King Kong lord of the rings and the hobbit. I hope Peter Jackson does a side story of dinotopia one day

AstrosGamer I assume he just means there's a bunch more content in the game now, and more by the week. It's a good thing. The framerate's finally playable for me and I've since lost over 400 hours to this game -_-
And to follow up on my initial response, it's not as friendly as dinotopia ;) Expect to die, be robbed, murdered and have all your pets destroyed if you play on a PVP server :p An RP server is about the closest you can get though. Also, there is a friendlier option of PvE servers where you're totally safe from other players.

My fiancee loved the series and bought it on dvd off ebay, i didnt think that i would like it and after alot of nagging i gave in and now iam glued to it.
I'm not sure whether I've watched this or not... But my friend insist that this series was awesome during his childhood and that leads me here... Sir Arthur Conan Doyle much better I think..
@Utahraptor2002 While the books are quite good (especially the art), the writing in the first three is somewhat dry, as would be expected (they represent the journal entries of the fictional 19th century explorer Arthur Denison). The mini-series is much more dynamic and interesting, although for the background, it is good to have at least the first book.

They never had romantic relationships in the novels. With they'd make a new rendition that sticks with the books. The novels were all about explorations into the unknown, lessons of growing up, bravery, and good lessons taught and learned.

Remember that Pterodactyl Scene from this Series were Wentworth Miller needs to find a Connection to one of the Pterodacytls? The Same happened later in James Camerons Avatar with the Mountain Banshees (flying dragons) were Jake Sully needs to connect to one of them!! Inspiration from here i assume!
