So, let me get this straight: you want obamacare, but you vote for someone who will repeal it? How does that make any sense at all?

joeschultz2 not a troll, not russian, just worried about America actually and i want the best for the American people. You know about pharma-bro right? Making life saving/changing medicine so expensive that it obscene. Voter suppression is wrong and very unamerican. Taking big money donations out of politics would be great, big corporate money, like oil money is like a leash for those who want to protect the environment, or support green energy that's not a corruption of the system? when the threat of re-election is held over them (vote our way or you can forget about our money or being a senator). Also dont you think its dumb that women's reproductive rights are a political thing? I mean im guessing your a guy, wouldn't you be annoyed that you were told you couldn't masturbate because every sperm is sacred and politicians were discussing if this was right or wrong? You may not agree with me but a magician does his work with the hand your not watching, ie: its all about distraction.

    • @joeschultz2
      @joeschultz2 7 лет назад +8

I agree with much of what you say but I don't see the two parties as being equivalent at all. One party protects women's reproductive rights, one is against those rights. One party supports raising minimum wage, the other would like to eliminate minimum wage entirely. One party wants to make voting easy and convenient for everybody, the other party puts obstacles for voting. One party wants to continue Social Security and Medicare in approximately their present form, the other wants to eliminate them. Those are huge differences.

I can't speak for the Americans, but from an outsider's point of view, it seems like people who voted for Democrat are more educated, have steadier job, and health insurance. I don't know much American history before Bill Clinton's presidency, but what we see from Asia, your Democrat presidents actually did more good than damage, while your Republican presidents did otherwise. Yet conservatives keep finding a way to twist it. Cool. We keep learning so much from you, Americans. Keep it up!

Cristina Cabral ...that's the funny thing about the ACA, or better known as Obamacare, is that it's basically the same Republican plan that Romney put into place for Massachusetts.
The Republicans don't have a plan to replace Obamacare, because the ACA was the plan Republicans wanted to go with, but Barack beat them to it. Barack was suppose to go the Universal Healthcare route of a single payer, but he compromised thinking Republicans would pass their own plan.

Years ago, just before Obamacare, I was diagnosed with low thyroid. It's extremely common and considered the most common disease in the U.S.. I only went to the doctor once a year to get my prescription for thyroid hormone. Suddenly, I got a letter in the mail from my insurance company telling me I was being dropped due to my low thyroid. Once you are labeled "uninsurable", you cannot get insurance from anyone else. So I finally had to leave my self-employment and become an employee again so that I could get insurance. There's a reason we need oversight to insurance companies. They will do what they want to you if they are not regulated. Republicans just love zero-regulation. One thing we've learned in America is that companies that regulate themselves, just rape us to the barn and back. They will do anything to us. Just like the old factories who would lock the women and children into the factories to keep them working. Then they died in fires. Thats why unions were born. You can never trust a corporation and you can never trust the Republicans because their base and master is corporations. As well, I find it funny that Republicans hate Obamacare when it was created by Republicans in the first place (Mitt Romney).

Conservatively it makes better sense to give everyone access to healthcare than having the uninsured use the ER as their only medical care which is an exponentially far more expensive alternative.
It is counterintuitive to have the majority of the population without healthcare.
Healthy people work and pay taxes, they pay bills and shop.
Un-paid ER debts fall on taxpayers...
Which is cheaper? A 40$ preventative doctors visit or a 100,000 $ ER visit the patient can't pay?
Good business says keeping people healthy and working is a benefit to all.

I hope this man as well as many others will be ok. I don't like the orange man but I pray that he has a little bit of decency for human life. But hey, you voted for a man who lives in a house draped in gold. In the future when someone shows you who they are believe them.

If Trump had a 'little bit', even the 'tiniest bit', of decency for human life, he wouldn't have shafted all those small business contractors that worked on his hotels and casinos. He forced them into bankruptcy, causing them to lose their businesses, their means of support for their families, and likely causing some of them to commit suicide. THEN, he stiffed his lawyers, who STARVED those small business owners, that did the bankruptcy work for him... Decency ??? trump ??? Please. . . .

Maybe these plans should be available exclusively to people who voted for them, can’t have people who actively take part in its repeal to be benefiting from them, more burden needs to be placed on the voter, a “get what you vote for” law must be created

It's like the poorest areas in the UK voting for Brexit.
E.g. Grimsby begging for some sort of free trade deal to keep the fishing trade it hoped Brexit would save alive or Cornwall suddenly realising that the 700 million £ it would get from the EU would end and the replacement it was promised doesn't look likely.

I just love how all these people say "I'm a conservative at heart, but I just need Obamacare"....
What they really mean to say is that I can't stand liberals cause they have given gays and other minorities equal rights so I'm going to vote conservative even though I benefit for a lot of these social programs.
I can truly understand rich business people being conservative, after all they usually want to keep every cent they make....
But I'll never understand people who benefit greatly from Obamacare or other programs not voting liberal.

In Australia free medical care is available for every citizen (even if you are unemployed). Everyone pays a bit with their taxes based on their income (2.5%). Out of pocket expenses are minimal. Even for hospital treatment. I cant understand why universal healthcare in the US is so dog-eat-dog.

I'm glad those of us who support these programs and are gladly willing to pay taxes, even for those who vote against them can feel good about wanting to help other Americans, even though they call us ridiculous names and try to put labels on us. Oh well, maybe one day they will wake up.

This guy knew what the best option for him was but decided to vote against his own interest instead just so he wouldn’t have to vote for the other more qualified party. No sympathy for him.
