    Dakar Desert Rally can be a tough beast in Professional and Simulation. Here are some (hopefully) useful tips and tricks to keep you from getting lost as much. Let me know your tips in the comments!

    You can take a look at the complete symbol legend for the roadbook in the pause menu. It helped me understand all the shortcuts. The most important are MOY (Cap is an average given as a tip, not to be followed), Q (leave the current road/track/traces you are following) and DZ (start of a speed limit zone with the speed limit next to it).

    If you're lost in the dunes, you can try to go in circles until you find the missing waypoint. This technique was very helpful in Dakar 18 and still is in DDR.

      Nice, good tip. I suspect the waypoints are a similar size to the visible ones in Sport mode.

    Honestly navigation was the thing that got me to this game - i wanted to take part in couple local motorcycle rallies that uses roadbooks yet i was unable to obtain any to practice so i bougth the game.
    as aditional bonus it's worth to memorise some parts of messages on most right part of pictures. They are shortened words for french and if like me you don't know french - this might help.
    P and PP means roads. so pp follow traces means you will see quite good gravel road to follow
    A nad G means left and right. way to remember both i sto remember that if you write whole alphabet A is on the most left part (it may not work if you're in right-to-left writing place)
    SER means that it will be tight turn. SER G means tight right turn
    E3 means narrow. if you see it most probably you will ride into some canyon, brige etc - helpfull t plan route ahead
    QT means quit. So if you see it it means that most probably you will start offroad section. simply read distance when to turn and direction (left or right) and try not to miss this place.

    7:27 This is what I do, I run the course multiple times as needed, then I start looking for shortcuts. Plus, you can always go back and do it again if you're not happy with your run.

      But I have the unfair advantage of being naturally adept at navigation. I live northern Ontario, and it would be easy to get lost when hunting moose other wise.

    • @ATribeCalledCars
      @ATribeCalledCars  Год назад +3

      Exactly that, practice makes perfect. Some courses are much trickier than others. Although in Simulation the courses are so long it can be too time consuming to do this method!

    Great video as always. Exactly the kind og guiding I need for this challenge. I do however have another issue with the steering using the PS5 controller. Is there any forums that can give me some tips that you know of? The turning speed do not adjust and is very slow, so handling is very difficult. There’s always a delay due to the slow turning speed, and that makes me miss the track way too often. No issues on other games, so the controller is fine. I’ve also tried a different controller and the same happens

    7:05 I've seen some videos where, at least in simulation mode, the Roadbook doesn't automaticlly adjust on your screen but the co-driver still calls them out anyway until the next waypoint if the distance between 2 waypoints is large enough. Once you hit the next waypoint, it then updates and regular services are resumed.
    I don't know if that's a glitch or bug but this could perhaps cause confusion and disorientate you so best learn to manually adjust your roadbook a habbit

      It happened to me but I think 1.4 solved it although I've not played as much recently because of WRC Generations. Manual for the win regardless!

    Dude this game has no fucking right to be as good as it is, its literally amazing, it's the first game I just bought for my ps5 after a few hours I began winning on the easiest mode, I've only adjusted the tirepressure settings which I'm familiar with IRL, the rest I'm clueless what's the fastest or best turning setup?

    • @ATribeCalledCars
      @ATribeCalledCars  Год назад

      I think it varies with vehicle but generally the standard setups work well. I think it also depends on the courses so a bit of trial and error. Maybe someone else has made a decent up-to-date guide! I will hopefully revisit the game soon, it is pretty epic.
