  • In August 2023, my seventeen year old son Jordan and I embarked on the trip of a lifetime.
The goal was to Jeep, camp, and fish for six days in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.
This has been something I have dreamt of doing for a long time… not just for myself and Jordan, but I also recognize the mental value of it. People vicariously experience these places through us. It’s something that is needed. Something that calms the soul, clears the mind, and brings peace.
I hope you enjoy this video.

Wisconsin. Why didn’t you guys go on Black Bear Pass? I’d love to go to Colorado one day next do a trip like that. I have a 04 Rubicon with the exact tent and I just bought the annex in December but haven’t used it yet Thanks for including that in the video to get a feel for it. Keep making great videos. I’d love to start a RUclips channel soon.

      Thanks for the comment!
Black Bear… it was opened up by the off road enthusiasts, but not officially opened by the county. The day we would have gone up, someone else got two tires off the side and blocked the trail for several hours. He was lucky and was safely rescued, but we had to save that trail for next time.

That’s one thing I worry about when you spent all the time planning and not to mention gas prices these days and you drive all the way out there to get slapped in the face like that.
