One week before the fight a young boxing fan told me he was going to bet his entire life savings $25,000 on Canelo because it was a “sure thing”. I told the kid this is probably the farthest From a sure thing Canelo has had since he fight Mayweather. I told him I saw this as a 50-50 fight at best I managed after several attempts somehow to convince him not to bet on this so-called sure thing with his entire life savings he ended up losing $5000. I was surprised how many people just completely overlooked how close the fight was with Sergey Kovalev Canelo literally pulled that fight out with a late knock out. One more thing when fighters become invincible a sure thing unbeatable it seems to be right towards the end of their winning streaks of course there are exceptions to this but big upsets start to show up.
I gotta say really disagree with the Canelo vs Bivol notion that Canelo got taken to school. I always find it strange how boxing fans tend to have this lopsided view of Canelo, when he wins, it's never that impressive, there's always reasons, and when he's perceived to have lost or in this case loses the scorecards were massively off. For one, Bivols offense was far from effective, despite being the smaller and shorter man, who had gassed out bt the 4th round, and despite Bivol's various attempts to KO Canelo, he failed. I really don't have a problem with the scorecards, because Canelo lost more as a consequence of being too tired to mount meaningful offense, than actually getting his face smacked into his brain. It is worth noting, I lost money predicting a Bivol KO in the 11th.

The reason Lewis was hated on so much is the same reason Klitschko was for a long time, they didn't "fight like heavyweights are supposed to." Meaning they controlled fights with the jab instead of throwing bombs, they moved instead of trading, etc. People think heavyweights should fight like Tyson or the young version of Foreman, always pushing forward and every punch thrown with the idea to knock their man out. I specifically remember an editorial back in the 90's and the author saying about Lewis "if I wanted to watch a bunch of jabs and dancing I'd go watch flyweight." It's the unfortunate nature of boxing. Casual fans expect heavyweights to fight a certain way and frankly so do a lot of older boxing journalists.
Kind of new to your channel not sure if you talked about the beautiful counter-punching display James Tony put on Iran Barkley but it was a masterpiece
Quick question, I was under the assumption that when a fighter gets knocked down, tries to get up and falls back down the fight's over. Is that not the Rule? Why would he be Saved by the Bell if that was the rule ?
The judges scorecards in the Bivol Canelo fight were highly sus. If it hadn't have been so completely one sided they'd have given it to Canelo. Bivol knocked the lemons out of Canelo that night.
As a former amateur boxer that had friends who, although they liked watching fights, they didn't know much about great boxers & were more drawn to the Ali's, Mayweather's, Tyson's of fighting. They couldn't understand why Del La Hoya was one of my favorite fighters. Tbh, I think race had a bit to do with it as well, since we are black & Oscar isn't. But race never mattered to me in fighting. It just was not how I was raised. You judge a man by what he does, not how he looks. As my grandfather, God-fearing deacon at our church, former fighter, & WW2 veteran used to tell me & my brothers when we were kids. "The devil has often been the most beautiful person many have ever seen, & God, after being beaten & crucified, was the ugliest anyone had ever seen. If we judged by looks, we'd have it all wrong." Del La Hoya wasn't a trash talker, he wasn't a bully, but he wasn't a push over, he like many latino fighters I honor & look up to even to this day like Chavez, Vasquez, Duran, Ruiz, Alvarez, man its just something in them that makes them warriors. It's better than being fearless, bcz although they are worried &/or fearful, they will still fight. I watched that documentary on Oscar. And as a former fighter, I can tell you...the fear that encapsulates you when you can identify a weakness or injury in yourself but you're scheduled to fight. Shit, I vomited 3 times on the day I had to fight but my shoulder was injured & although my family & trainers thought it had to do with me also having the flu as well, I knew that it didn't. I've had the flu numerous times & although at times I felt like crap &/or a lil queezy, from childhood up until that fight 10 yrs ago when i was 18; I have only been so sick with the flu to the point of vomiting once. My heart was racing, I thought I was having either or both, a heart attack &/or a panic attack. I know exactly what he means when you can feel your legs shake beneath you. It was actually something I was self conscious about bcz I was afraid if the guy i was fighting or his team identified the shaking they'd know that I wasn't %100. I was & always will be a huge Ali fan & I had watched countless hrs of him & on him, one of which was while his boxing license was revoked when he wouldn't fight in the war. He made a movie with the original "Pretty Boy" Floyd & eventual Iron Mike's trainer & boxing genius. He & Cus conversed on how & what Ali would do if he were able to fight legendary former champion boxers. In that movie he showed the genius of his famous, "Ali shuffle". & how it aids in two important ways, a momentary distraction to implement an aggressive attack or defensive retreat. Ali was my favorite boxer, so I studied every movement he made that worked & every flaw he made that cost. Just as I had done w/ Frazier (whom was my 2nd favorite & was born , & I believe, mostly raised in the same state as I was) I'd try to mirror their greatness in defense & offense. I say all that as a precursor to explain just how bad I was fuq'd up on the day of that fight I had. Bcz although I could pull off Ali's shuffle well enough & benefited from damn near all the time. That day when I was fuq'd up & my legs were shaking, I tried to use Ali's dance around the ring & his shuffle. But my legs were so weak & shakey that it caused me to trip up 3 times. As a adult king, husband, & father that is comfortable & confident with sharing the absolute truth without the sheltering &/or excuses that come by arrogance, ego, or machismo...I can honestly say I was BEYOND scared. Til the point after the 5th round when I went to my corner, I was so gripped with nausea, nerves, anxiety, & fear that I accidentally spit up, & almost full on vomited again. My heart was beating so hard & fast that it not vibrated my whole body with every beat but I could hear each of those beats too. My mom & dad came to my corner trying to ask me if i was ok & did we need to stop the fight. As most ppl know, when you're nauseous talking can intensify the feeling & even make you vomit as well. So i couldn't speak, which is when my trainer (who is like an uncle to me. R.I.P. Unc) also asked if I needed to stop & call the fight. Which made me more fearful than fighting while i was messed up. Bcz I didn't want to look like a coward & a loser. It took any & everything I could muster from within me to keep fighting. But I did it. I didn't win that match but I didn't lose it either. Literally. I had come back just enough to get a tie with the guy I was fighting. But Oscar fighting threw his internal obstacle & actually beating his opponent was one of the instances that came to mind & motivated me to keep fighting. Oscae doesn't get nowhere near the respect that he truly deserves. One of the best boxers of all times. Fr fr

love your videos and love the bits of humour, thank you
Putting out quality videos as always, thank you
Of all the things that I was thinking tonight, I never thought I'd imagine the Bjork stalker fighting a mediocre rapper.
Great video.
de la Hoya fought like that cause his fkn fear of losing jacked his adrenaline through the roof😂
You can't leave out Stevenson vs Valdez 😭.
Just thought of a dope idea for a series... David vs Goliath: when the little guy wins
It will be full of Manny Pacquiao fights.
@@p4pking. lmao you took the words out of my mouth, lad. maybe you can give some love to Ricky Hatton beating Jose Luis Castillo who's also a big man? lol.
Good shit brother I appreciate your work
I was so mad at Kambosos and Canelo because of the game plan cuz I thought Canelo was going to go to the body and tire him out and Kambosos to be aggressive with Haney and make it a fight but those were horrible game plans
Yeah, Canelo was just too used to being able to blast through the 168 division. He thought he was gonna be able to do the same to Bivol, but he learned the truth the hard way.
Canelo did try to go to the body, just didnt work. Bivol was ready for him with great counterpunches. Canelo had no answer
Me after seeing the Performance of Kambosos against Haney : Dawg why keep throwing the Overhand without setting up , Damn this is Boxing throw some other type of Punches
@@chaosdromanah8620 yes bro it made me so mad cuz of that. If his dad gave him that urgency to go for it in round 7 cuz I had him down on the cards he would of won those rounds or maybe hurt him but he didn’t had that power
@@mikehawk8198 I watched the fight again and he went to the body but not much. Also he thought he was going to bully Bivol with his power but he was the one who got bullied
Shit we need to do a video called "When Hancho takes other boxing channels to school".. 🔥🔥
Ah yes the amazing performance from native Calofornian Bivol
native californian?
pull yer head outcha ass, homie
Team Canelo is really out there thinking that Bivol is a Easy Fight
I don't think his team think Bivol is easy, I think it's just Canelo.
Love this channel
That Japanese commentary sound lit af
I know right? I love it when I come across a fight being commentated in Japanese.. I have absolutely no idea what's being said, but DAMN I get hype af,.
Glad you put it out there how one dimensional Canelo had been fighting. People were blinded by hype to actually notice that. Also, thank goodness HBO is dead, dreadful commentary (except for Foreman and other guests they'd have).
A old mayweather schooling canelo would probably be the biggest schooling 😂😂😂
Nah barrera vs hamed is still up there
It definitely wasn't because Lenox was not an American....we all know what it really was...Lenox Lewis top 5 Heavyweight ever !
Michael did the same thing to White, that Andy Ruiz did to Joshua. he caught him and hurt him and stayed on him like glue and keep pushing.
Now that's what I call good content
thanks for the video, quality as always.
Wack. One of the best edits
Oscar is a LEGEND
Never thought I'd see the Bjork stalker in a boxing video yet here we are
we need to see Bivol vs. Beterbiev!
Canelo used the cinnamon toast body slam against Lara, Khan and Bivol👊🏼
nice double leg attempt by Canelo right there. he's ready for Usman now.
Man anytime time I hear about Oscar vs Vargas it's a hard pill to swallow (I'm from Oxnard Fernando is an icon)
But another great Hancho video, keep it up
Oscar had that killer switch.
Masterclass as usual!
Ooooo shitttt here we go. Love this series
Notifications GANNNNNNG!!!!!! 💪☝🏽
7:56 Vargas tops Allakhverdiev.... He did WHAT?!
Love your vids bro, as always I will ask what is the tune at 4:00 ? such a cool melody! Keep doing what your doing bro!
The image at 14:01!!! CLASSIC!! If you know, you know!! If not do your research sheeple!! 🐑
Canelo's style is reliant on going forward and bodywork, against a good fundamental boxer that doesn't work.
I meany kinda, but he is 5 foot 9 fighting at light heavy.
You don’t beat Golovkin, Jacobs, Smith, Plant and Saunders without being pretty exceptional
@@TextbookBoxingGB bruh he lost to GGG in the first fight CLEAR, second fight was more of a draw then the first one. Let’s not act like he was so exceptional against GGG lmao
@@BabyKobeeee yeah I do agree, I think he won the second but the first i think i had 8 4 Golovkin
Then again, if you're only getting "exposed" by Golovkin 50% of the time you're not doing too badly in boxing
@@BabyKobeeee People like to also pretend that GGG wasnt way past his prime, the man ducked GGG for years. GGG beat him the first fight youre right on the second fight being more of a draw then the first.
@@mikehawk8198 he may have been past his prime, but he was still incredibly good. Even At that time, triple g was seen as the number 1 guy at 160 and he still was on the pound for pound when Canelo beat him in the second fight. Not to mention triple g even at 40 is still unifying.
2:19 that dude looks like Don Frye
Great video. Aye, @OfficeHanchoBoxing, who made that beat at the 7:50 mark and what's the name of it? I dig it and I want to buy or lease it. It's 🔥🔥
I dunno if you’ve already covered this. But Felix Sturm schooled Oscar’s ass and almost spoiled the party. Never forget.
Dude whatever happened to Khabib Allakhverdiev? He never fought again after the Broner loss. Why?
My favourite series
Pednelo still thought the GGG fix was in. After getting schooled he still thought the dark forces would give him the win.
Big video my man
12:07 Jack Johnson is goated lmao wtf
Love this channel🔥
The first time I scored the Canelo vs Bivol fight I had Bivol winning all rounds but round 2… the first time.
I thought Canelo won 4 rounds by watching it the first time. Then I rewatched it, Canelo only won 3 rounds maximum in my eyes. First 4 rounds are actually competitive.
Best yt content as always
Basically they just want a brawl. As Larry holmes says (I think) "boxing is like jazz, the better it is the less people understand).
He made canelo like a local boxer 😂😂😂
Commenting to help my boy hancho with the algorithm
Kind of new to your channel not sure if you talked about the beautiful counter-punching display James Tony put on Iran Barkley but it was a masterpiece
I don’t know why people slept on Bivol clearly one of the top dogs in that division
Quick question, I was under the assumption that when a fighter gets knocked down, tries to get up and falls back down the fight's over.
Is that not the Rule? Why would he be Saved by the Bell if that was the rule ?
To my understanding, it's not a rule. Some referees will stop a fight but it's a judgement call.
It really depends on the ref's judgement and how bad the boxer falls down again.
The same can be said about the UK though. I’ve heard plenty of bias when the fight is across the pond.
i feel like were still yet to see the best from haney. He didnt even get out of gear one vs Kamboses and just coasted
The judges scorecards in the Bivol Canelo fight were highly sus. If it hadn't have been so completely one sided they'd have given it to Canelo. Bivol knocked the lemons out of Canelo that night.
True
Fr fr
It was frustrating to see Canelo just punching the damn arms
because he was not able to figure out anything else which says a lot about his IQ.
@@Marco-bh9im not really just shows he only had one game plan that worked every time before and when it failed for the first time he failed to adapt and he lost the fight
@@chino2620 that's exactly why he wasn't able to figure out anything. He can't think or change and adapt on the fly in all those fights because he lacks the iQ. The thing is you all didn't realise because he was winning his cherry picks😂
@@Marco-bh9im not really a lack of iq when your punches don’t even hurt your opponent there was really no way for canelo to win that night he got tired by the 4th round and was throwing single shots with none of them really landing bivol woulda beat anyone that night he’s a stylistic nightmare for canelo tho
@@chino2620 stop making excuses for his lack of ring IQ. He simply wasn't smart enough with all of those pro fights under his belt to figure out a way of breaking through. You don't have to hurt an opponent to be able to outwit him. Man! youfanbois!
The Scorecards in the Ass Whipping Bivol gave Alvarez are just one more example of just how CROOKED Boxing is. Bivol beat that club fighter Alvarez like the Redheaded Stepchild he is.🤣
18:39 Even I assumed Bivol would get fucked on the scorecards. Carpet-bombing Canelo's face for twelve rounds proved me wrong.
