The oil contamination will travel the length of the wire all the way to the ECM (brain box), so you might want to check the ECM connection for contamination too. The oil will have metal wear particles in it and some contain graphite, both are conductive. There should be a bulletin from MAC on this type of problem, maybe you can check with them on that?

If you continuously spend that money to repair the Mack then your missing out on paying off a newer truck quickly or leasing a truck with maintenance included.

My Freightliner has two injector harnesses under the valve cover. Mechanic told me to go ahead and change the harness and see if that fix the problem. But what I opted to do Was change the injector on both harnesses at the same time because I didn’t want to have to go into the motor twice. My truck has been running better ever since. I am a firm believer that the injector harness does go bad overtime with heat cycles and being exposed to the engine oil.

i got that ancel 7hd months ago. it would NEVER communicate with any of the 7 trucks i tried to use it on. they messaged me and said i had to do the feed back to their tech support. i did that. they said it needs an update. mind you, it was brand new. never got any update. then they messaged me and said it needs repaired. never heard another word from that worthless company. i have been trying for 5 months to get a resolution. they never respond to any messages on any of their contact links. worthless. i wouldnt spend a penny on this companies junk. it sucks because i really could use it.

Hit the junk yards for parts unitl that mack blows a cylinder. Then get a detroit 60 12.7. Ive seen them for sale at 15k with rebuild papers. Check rear main seals for oil leaks (13 hour job if so). Cylinder and injector cutout test using dddl. Good test results are 90% across all 6 cylinders injectors and your good to roll.

Your absolutely on the right track with oil in the clips. Use Die Electric Grease on this harness and or the new one to keep the oil out.

Gentry and Sons Trucking in Sweetwater, Tn. They are working on outside truckers equip and also just bought a wrecker. They have a Channel on the tube, also. The owner is Tim and he has two Macks like yours and is familiar with them. Bill

In my 20 years of trucking. I went through 3 trucks.
      64 Autocar
      85 KW W900B
      96 KW T800
Every time I changed trucks, after a week, I would be screaming to myself, why didn't I do this sooner.
You need to pull each injector connection one at a time to relieve your mind of the one short. Put in the new harness. There is no cash value in a dead truck to sell. I know I'm late to the armchair advice party.
But look at the hurdles you accomplished on the last breakdown. This harness has to be a no-brainer now.
      Just do it🙂

Have you disconnected the harness and used contact cleaner on the connector? Injectors don't go out 3 at a time, so tracing the wires might find your issue. Also you can do a injector cutout test on your device to help narrow down the culprit.

Auction sales are selling trucks of companies going under. Maybe should consider them which might be further ahead if remaining in trucking.

Yes, and that is an excellent place to purchase trucks is from big fleets, were the tractors have been maintained on a schedule. When I used to have my trucking company we bought all of our trucks that way and very rarely had any problems as the trucks were fleet trucks so they were always taken well care of mostly by in house mechanics serviced by PM schedules.

Silicone on those connections on the injector's is not a good idea. Some of the silicone could break away and go down in a port and create some more problems for you, those rubber seals you can buy in a parts place .
