I did a “Starbooks” themed book tasting a few years back. I partnered up with our local Starbucks and the manager donated snacks and materials for us, along with having baristas come read with my class. It was fabulous!

I love that! My local baristas are always super nice and willing to give supplies, too! 🫶

You could get some gold washi tape and outline the expectations you have in the frame instead of using actual frames or you could pop out the glass of the frames in case they fall again. Just some thoughts.

The other 2 have been holding strong and I love the way they look, so I’m gonna get 1 more frame and try with better name brand command strips, and then if they continue to fall I’ll just hang them up for sure!!

One of the building subs at my school has a mini personal air conditioner that she got at Walmart for like $20. You should look into it 😭

    Hi Hailey,
Your morning meeting: are you going over those slides that were quickly displayed at the very end of your video each day? (such as voice levels, consequences, affirmations) They're great and I would think they would really set the tone in a positive manner. Just wondering how long you display those slides and talk about it? Just the first month or throughout the school year?

We go over them every single day throughout the year! I just say “show me the hand signal for water, show me the hand signal for agree, disagree, question” and I’ll quickly go through them a few times in random order. Same for voice levels “show me voice level 1 with your group, voice level 2, 0”. The positive affirmations I’ll call on students to say a positive affirmation and then the whole class repeats it. It is super quick but we do every part of morning meeting every single day! I hope that answers your questions 😊🤍

4th grade teacher here! How do your consequences work with more severe behaviors like hitting someone, throwing a desk, etc? If they hit or punch someone but it’s only their first rule break of the day is it just a redirect?

You can adjust as you see fit. I haven’t had any of those behaviors this year yet (hopefully won’t lol) but last year it was a daily occurrence and needed to be handled by admin. I’m a general education teacher, not a behavior specialist so once desks and chairs go flying, to admin it goes 🫡

@@HaileyCarvalho that definitely makes sense. I just have had a lot of issues with kids putting hands on other kids and I usually take that more seriously because even if someone didn’t really get hurt because they could have or could in the future. I struggle to find a classroom management strategy that helps with all levels of behaviors (not just the small ones)
