    Another great spot, Enjoyed vid, Yes of course lightning is a killer , My sister lost a beast on there property, I was there and saw the lightning hit the ground, Many yrs ago a dairy farmer didn't return home on time , Was found deceased with some of his cows , Machines still working, Lightning strike, Another lightning strike hit a large dead blue gum in creek, Demolished the whole tree, couldn't believe my eyes ,found lumps of timber the size of half fence posts, scattered a quarter of a mile away while mustering a few weeks later, Shows the power of some lightning strikes, Saw a lightning bolt go across the sky, very high , the sound ,shock wave took 10 sec, it was enormous, the ground shook , caravan groaned, to witness that was an eye opener, Cheers Bevan from Sapphire Central Qld Australia 🤠❤️🦘🦘🇦🇺

      As a kid I can recall seeing trees that had been hit by lightning causing the tree to explode with wooden splinters being sprayed out over a long distance. Every now and again you hear on the news where people have been struck buy lightning.

      At one stage we would take the caravan and boat to Coobowie stopping in the Caravan Park while we did some fishing for a week after the New Year, we did that for nearly ten years.🙂

    Great video as usual, we are just finishing 3 weeks on the Yorke which has been great.
    We were camped just south of Ardrossan when the big electrical storm hit, went for almost 12hrs and in the main went both sides of us. Got so great photos ( well in my opinion 🤣)
    But one bolt hit very close to the camp ground, multiple people reported feeling slight electrical shock, one lady sitting on the metal toilet at the camp toilet had very slight burn makes on the top of her legs and another standing near the building had what she described as slight burning to her feet.
    Nobody wanted to get any closer than that

      Ardrossan must be a popular name 🙂 The motor in the Landcruiser being a V8 twin turbo, has plenty of power to towing the caravan.

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Год назад +1

      Unsure about that at this stage. We will not be doing very much with this vehicle compare to what we did with the Colorado. That being the case, there may not be enough to record to make a video worth while, time will tel.

    I was about to hi-tail it out even if you didn't, an awesome storm but not one I would like to be caught in. It is hard to tell how far south it was from you but I think it is at least five km or maybe more that they tell you to get off the golf course & get undercover. My son was in a soccer game as a boy when lightening struck the goal post & one boy ended up in hospital & there was no storm within cooee!! I like to be safely indoors when storms go by & definitely not on a beach in a tent!! That has never been my idea of fun!!

    Happy New Year, welcome back. Had some lovely blue swimmers at Ardrossen, but been too long since I was there, my list of places to visit is growing exponentially 🤣🤣🤣 now youre retired are you looking at a longer trip one the ute is all certified? Btw great lightening shots. Cheers, Cheryl 🙂

    G'day Mick, thanks for the video and as usual entertaining and interesting. Wonder when you upgraded the tow vehicle and why. I must have missed the change out. What was the rationale there if you don't mind.

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Год назад +2

      We were too heavy as a combination when towing with the Colorado so we were forced to either change to a smaller caravan or larger tow vehicle. Either choice didn't please us but we needed to be compliant and legal when on the road.

  • @petertoms3006
    @petertoms3006 Год назад +1

    Hey Mick the cruiser looks great. Did you mention you did a gvm upgrade. If so did it lift the vehicle.I need the upgrade but I don’t want the lift. We did both peninsula last year they really cater for caravaners. Cheers

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Год назад

      The gvm/gcm upgrade that we had done unfortunately did come with a lift, something that we didn't really want like you. I am on the understanding that just a gvm upgrade will also have a lift. If you ring Lovells or Pedders, they will be able to advise you better on this. We are considering going over to the Eyre Peninsula later this year if everything works out for us.

    Another very informative video. My wife & I are coming to SA this March April in our van. We travel with a small dog & stay in van parks. For first time visitors which peninsula would you recommend for relaxing/fishing - Eyre or Yorke ?? Cheers

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Год назад +1

      Each Peninsular is as good as the other. March April is a great time of the year to visit, hope you have a great time.🙂If you are coming from the East, I would go to the Yorke Peninsula if you want to save on distance otherwise flip a coin.👍

    Mick what happened to the other two tug...? LandCruiser now....?

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Год назад

      We weighed the combination with the Colorado when we arrived home from our Flinders Ranges trip, the set up should have been the lightest it would be as we were nearly empty in all areas. The total weight was just too high so sadly a change had to be made.
