- Tavis Smiley talks with the incomparable NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who discusses his book "Coach Wooden and Me: Our 50-Year Friendship On and Off the Court".
As we approach the 40 anniversary of the release of the seminal film The Game of Death, starring Bruce Lee and Kareem as a villain, Kareem had this to say of his time with the iconic martial artist.

That flying kick is real. I have seen video where Bruce and Kareem is practicing that...Bruce does 5 or 6 attemps to get it perfect and all are good attemps..no trampoline is definetly NOT used..he really jumps from the floor.

Hi Mr Kareem Abdul Jabbar sir I just will like to tell you the truth about master Bruce Lee death I know there is a lot of insinuations about how he died but believe me sir he was muder.. he died after the filming of enter the dragon the same day sir..is true that he died in his sleep but that was because the aspiring pain killer put him to sleep also in the filming of enter the dragon he was grapple twice and Hit on the head by one of the the stunts man's dress in black like the same clothes that master Bruce Lee wears Chinese clothes and he was filmed getting Hit on the head by Jackie Chan then he send that eddition to NYC in A cernten theater in the Bronx because there was a man that pay to have master Bruce Lee killed he pay $10,000 in American money send to Hong Kong to a bunch of cutthroats from the filming of enter the dragon and Jackie Chan is there friends.. honest sir there is more but I will like to mis Shannon Lee and master Bruce Lee to know the truth please will you help me I was only 16 years old when I knew about this and now I seen in the picture who is the one that hit master Bruce Lee in the head and I am hoping that mis Shannon See's it.thankyou for I hope to hear from you sir..

I've been a Bruce Lee fan a long time, and never heard that in the early 70's Ali was offered by Bruce himself, Kareem's role in Game Of Death. I never heard that anywhere from Ali, Dan Inosanto, Bruce's Kids, nor his Widow Linda. According to IMDB, Ali turned down a role in the 1978 version of G.O.D., YEARS after had Bruce had died already, but turned it down because he thought it would exploit Bruce's death. Get your facts straight next time before you start spewing lies using exclamation points.
It doesn't take much brain power to realize that in that era. Ali was considered the greatest fighter of all time. And Ali said he couldn't even eat in a restaurant. He talks about how unfair and jealous whites were of blacks namely him. because Ali was beating all their so-called white hopes. Ali was the champion of the world and very much hated by most all whites in that era. They thought they could shut ali up if Bruce Lee came to America and beat him, however, Bruce Lee was no fool. He admired Ali and said I quote ALI IS THE BEST FIGHTER IVE EVER SEEN. And Bruce Lees wife said Bruce had a room where he spent most of his time mimicking and watching Ali fights. You get your facts straight first!!! In Bruce Lees own book THE MAKING OF entering THE DRAGON. Bruce Lee says ALI WOULD KILL ME!!! Dream all you want, the little guy was only an actor and a very good con artist. That's why there is no footage of bruce lee in a real fight with a real champion!! just bull shit stories!!! you guys rather suck on a Chinese dick and swallow it down to the nub.
