@ Unclipping is incredibly easy and smooth. I do run mine on almost the lowest tension setting tho. Clipping in however takes a little more effort for me. It's definitely not a dealbreaker.
Would love to see a video covering your action cam setup and a quick peek into your colour grading, really enjoy the greens and browns you manage to get.
@@Danwhit5 they're great pedals. I got mine for a killer price. They are really smooth and well made. Clipping in is a bit harder sometimes, not that easy to fin the spot. Awesome brand too.
@ cool man I have them on order! I’ve been on crankbrothers for the last several years and am ready for something different. Looking for a more robust stability feeling under the foot. Stoked to try these!
I also ride the Shimano SPD trail pedals and have been hunting for something that gives a more flat pedal feel while still being clipped in. I tried the Nukeproof SPD pedals last year and they were incredibly easy to clip into and felt amazing, they were almost impossible to get out of, I could only exit them via the multi-release yank. I have limited range of motion in my ankles so easy to get out of is important hence why I use multi release and Crank Bros are a non-starter. Been curious about these, the Xpedo GFX and the DMR V-Twins
I think many forget how much more wattage a heavy pedal can demand to turn. I run Crank Bros E Mallet Enduro pedals currently and they seem a nice middle ground w weight, profile, and durability. These sound great but switched from SPD years ago to Crank Bros and never went back. I run them on my Instinct trail bike for the stability.
The seals on these do actually seem a bit more restrictive than Shimano, but I'm typically very sensitive to loosing watts and I haven't noticed a big difference.
Hey, I had a similar creaking issue with my Lyrik. Fixed it with Loctite 290 from memory. It has to be a wicking one which seeps into all the spaces, I dribbled it into the upturned fork around the stanchions and the steerer tube connections. P.s. love your content. Good luck.
The feeling I’m attempting to explain is when you’re clipped in, the saints which I use feel icy as the platform seems to not do much or contact shoe. Wondering if these chromags feel closer to support of a flat pedal under shoe and less of a metal on metal vibe.
@@trailflavor Oh yes, these pedals definitely solve that issue. The only trade off is that they're harder to clip into at times. Especially if your shoe is muddy. But once you're in you're in, super secure!
I'm using a GoPro Hero 12 with the Max Lens mod. The woods were just too dark to get a high enough shutter speed which is how the new age stabilization works. 🤷🏻♂
Yeah the Radials, the drag is worse then a trail casing schwalbe, but pretty minimal. I am super sensitive to tire drag and I find them to be reasonable. I think the Trail pro casing would be really good.
You know you're obsessed with mt biking when you watch a 20min video of a guy riding his bike talking about pedals. Love your reviews!!
I honestly didn't plan to have the video be 20 minutes, but somehow we got there. I'm glad I didn't lose ya!
Loving this content. Keep it coming man.
love your videos man! keep them coming!
Love my pilot pedals! Awesome video!
Yeah they're a killer option!
How easy/hard are they to unclip from? And how hard are they to clip into on the fly?

I do plan to do that. It's in Davinci Resolve!
Always appreciate your insight. Thinking of picking up a pair of pilots!
Happy to help!

@@Danwhit5 Yes, report back when you try them. They are definitely a very secure feeling pedal!

Great video as always dude, curious on which mudguard you are running?
It’s an SKD Mudrocker!

Rad okay, glad to know that works. I picked some up and tried it but maybe it wasn’t the wicking formula!
@@SpencerAstraPOV yeah, i think that's the important part. It needs to seep into any cavities.
But have you tried HT?? Nice to see more people playing in the space!
I haven’t, you’re a fan? Have you compared them with SPDs?
I agree. I’ve tried all sorts and I only run HT on all 5 of my bikes. Love them beyond.
The new HT X3 Dh pedal is pretty sick and the T2 trail pedals are also a joy to use. Definitely give em a shot if you have the chance
@@schnurb5879good to know!
If the loctite mentioned above doesn’t work, Butter Suspension in Seattle can re-press the fork to fix the creaking!
Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out!
New Sentinel would be sweet!
It should happen!
Do these eliminate the classic shimano icy metal on metal feeling?
Hmm, like the sensation that the clip feels as it drags on the metal? These do feel a bit different as far as the metallurgy of the SPD plates.

@ beauty! Thanks for the response cheers
Is there a screw missing on the clear plate????
Haha
I have a set I pilots, I much prefer saints. I feel like the action is less smooth and it’s harder to find the clip on the cromags
It's definitely harder to find the clip on the Pilots especially the full size BA version! I do wonder if dropping the pin height would help.
What’s your favorite flat pedal?
I’ve been out of that game too long to even comment
What camera do you use and settings?
I love the motion blur but you don’t have that stabilization jitter problem from using an ND filter.

Has DJI reached out to you about a Action 5?
No, unfortunately not!
Are those the radial Alberts? How much drag do you experience on the climbs?

Chromag is Whistler, you said Squamish 3m41s, you might be thinking OneUp.
Oh yep! Mixed that up, thanks!
FYI I truly enjoy your videos and content
