Miss Fame had the dress that was worn by one of the "Ugly Stepsisters" in a Met Opera production of Cinderella. Technically, it was made to be "ugly" for the character, but of course it's beautifully made, so the judges didn't understand it.
That dress looks like tin foil and a tent had a love child then inflated it hopes it would die but when it survived they just said fuck it I guess we keep the ugly little bastard.
Update: Kim Chi's mother knows that she does drag. She found out by googleing 'Kim Chi' based on the email address she got from her. After a conversation and Kim Chi revealing how successful and wealthy she is, her mother reveaks that she is supportive of this career, though drag culture in general is completely new to her.

From what Kim Chi explained, her mom is a typical asian parent who wants her child to have a stable position in society, and when you know nothing about drag, you might think my kid is just fooling around and losing his time instead of finding a real job. So yeah, the reassurance that it's a full-time job and that he can support himself well doing that makes it easier to accept and support, even if you don't really understand it.

It probably does. I really believe that Kim Chi saying, "my mom doesn't know I do drag" is what damned him in the end and kept him from winning. Why? Because his explanation had an element of shame to it. He basically said that he already disappointed her by being gay and didn't want to disappoint her again by being a drag queen. Yes, some of the queens weren't out to their parents, like Jaidynn et al, but they didn't even get close to winning. Becoming The Next Drag Superstar makes you a highly public figure, meaning eventually your parents will find out, likely from friends, coworkers, or neighbors, and if that blew up Kim Chi's life it would affect his reign as TNDS. At worst it might affect his mental health and he might go on hiatus or fail to fulfill his duties as TNDS. *TL;DR: For me, it wasn't 100% that Kim Chi said, "my mom doesn't know", it was the shame with which he spoke about not telling his mom, like it was something he had to hide out of self-preservation and to "spare her". If you're TNDS, drag is what you DO, what you LOVE, what you wouldn't want to give up, not what you hide.*

I think the look I love most is Kim Chi's mom look, by the looks of the outfit I feel like she had put a ton of work into the thought of her outfit, plus the makeup was just very outstanding and glowed captivating beauty.

I became so obsessed with Kim Chi during the last season, and somehow this makes me love her more. I think the performance aspect of that outfit is what sold it. Not that it's bad. The whole look is very aerodynamic and works well to highlight the main feature (the wings). But the performance of the look is more stunning than the fashion of the look.
At the time it was iconic. Something like that had never been seen before, a mechanized outfit on that scale. I don't think Shane gets the credit he deserves because she a person who lives in the in between and is one with his female persona. Courtney is like a real person and not just a performance character.
I wore an outfit that had all of these battery operated birds on it flapping their wings. Once, after a club burned down, I showed up to another club looking like I had just escaped the fire. The hard part was keeping the bowl of dry ice secured in my wig, so that I was smoking.

That outfit was GORGEOUS and so well made, and I totally agree with Kim’s comments about people not being open to more varied styles of drag. I loved that she kept bringing in more eastern inspired concepts and silhouettes, I wish they’d been better received bc they were brilliant

My favorite runway look is definitely Violet Chachki's beard look because the dress was just so gorgeous and I didn't even remember that there was a beard on her because the dress was so pretty. And I also love her entering in the werkroom look on episode 1.
Honestly I get misty eyed when I see her mom look. The solemn expression and the way she walks and those long long nails tell such a distinct story of how she sees her mom, and it's so beautiful.

I became so obsessed with Kim Chi during the last season, and somehow this makes me love her more. I love how she talks about liking different silhouettes and how fashion can be everything, and that it's more about having a vision and well executed concept than it is about sticking to one "Correct" kind of look. Keep slaying my life Kim Chi.

this started with the ones everyone agrees on and i thought it was gonna all be predictable, but then she went off on some underrated looks that i had forgotten about and reminded me how good they are. kind of surprised there was no Nina Flowers though, she had some loooooks on season one.

I think the performance aspect of that outfit is what sold it. Not that it's bad. The whole look is very aerodynamic and works well to highlight the main feature (the wings). But the performance of the look is more stunning than the fashion of the look.
At the time it was iconic. Something like that had never been seen before, a mechanized outfit on that scale. I don't think Shane gets the credit he deserves because she a person who lives in the in between and is one with his female persona. Courtney is like a real person and not just a performance character.
So nice to see something from Kimchi

I wore an outfit that had all of these battery operated birds on it flapping their wings. Once, after a club burned down, I showed up to another club looking like I had just escaped the fire. The hard part was keeping the bowl of dry ice secured in my wig, so that I was smoking.

I’ll never be over the fact that Raja and Raven booted Kim’s Mom look on FPR. That outfit was GORGEOUS and so well made, and I totally agree with Kim’s comments about people not being open to more varied styles of drag. I loved that she kept bringing in more eastern inspired concepts and silhouettes, I wish they’d been better received bc they were brilliant

My favorite runway look is definitely Violet Chachki's beard look because the dress was just so gorgeous and I didn't even remember that there was a beard on her because the dress was so pretty. And I also love her entering in the werkroom look on episode 1.

Honestly I get misty eyed when I see her mom look. The solemn expression and the way she walks and those long long nails tell such a distinct story of how she sees her mom, and it's so beautiful.
