About: Satisfactory
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies. The Satisfactory Train update and Nuclear update also adds in trains, train stations, and nuclear power plant to enjoy, if you can handle the nuclear waste that is! Satisfactory Update 3 also changed the game entirely adding pipes, Hyper Tubes, the Awesome Shop and Awesome Sink (aka Resource Sink), a new desert biome, a new vehicle, and a ton more! Recently though Satisfactory Update 4 released adding in the very Satisfactory Tier 8 with: plutonium, plutonium waste, a hover pack, the blender, a battery building, ziplines, gas, reservoirs and wells, drones, new space elevator parts, and a whole lot more too!

I’d recommend activating the setup anyways. It may be underoptimised, but it’d buy you some time. That and decreasing the power of the base to just what’s needed, it should buy you some more time to get the setup done right

Definitely Kibs. For let's game it out there would be no need for a solution to any nuclear waste storage problem. Because the ultimate end goal is to make the whole world into an unplayable nuclear wasteland anyway.

I've run some numbers. If this is back-of-the-napkin math, I've probably gone through a whole package by now. Doesn't matter. This is a small setup designed to be temporary, as it uses silica, but less than I thought. It's WAY faster than I expected, and the numbers in this setup work out evenly. I think you have the materials for this on hand, or can pull them from other areas of the nuclear setup. Here's the I/O:
8 Blenders at 200% clockspeed.
Feed in, per minute, *600 Nuclear waste*(!), *400 Silica*(remember, temporary), *120 m3 Nitric acid*, and *120 m3 Sulfuric acid*.
Vent the *240 m3 Water* this will output, and move the *800 Non-fissile Uranium* into the next step:
6 Particle Accelerators at UNCHANGED clockspeed. I would say to use less, but these things spike the power grid as they work.
Send in the *800 Non-fissile Uranium* from step 1, and add *200 Uranium Waste*(!!).
This gives you *180 Plutonium pellets* per minute.
9 Assemblers, FULLY overclocked.
Add *360 Concrete* to your *180 Plutonium Pellets*
to get *90 Encased Plutonium Rods* per minute.
6 Manufacturers at 200% clockspeed. This is the part that needs the most extra components.
In: *90 Encased Plutonium Rods*, *54 Steel Beams*, *18 Electromagnetic Control Rods*, and *30 Heat Sinks*(sorry).
Out: *3 Plutonium Fuel Rods per minute*.
Sink 'em or save 'em.
I tried designing this system to be powered by some small part of your nuclear construct, so a few reactors could be run to power the uranium waste drain. This setup, not counting the power needed for extra component inputs, runs on just TWO (fully overclocked, uranium-powered) reactors, even if all the particle accelerators hit their surges at once.
Total system deficit less those reactors: *760 Uranium Waste drained per minute*.

20:39 This is a really dangerouos process, you're absolutely right. However, in real life chemical engineering it's not too uncommon to have corrosive, toxic, flammable and even explosive chemicals come together in one factory. Uranium is a bit extra spicy in this regard, because it is radioactive and toxic at the same time. Plutonium was like: "You call yourself a dangerous element? Hold my beer and I'll show you how it's done." Plutonium knocked it up a few hundred notches turned out to be super ultra mega toxic and radioactive. It's like off the charts type of dangerous now.

You should probably place two valves on both pipes before ballancer, so its not going to push that extra 75m3 of sulfuric acid backwards. Valve works as one way gate and cheap, so you should always use them to control flow direction.

You can always turn off 3/4 of the nuke plants once your dealing with the waste, to let it purge =) I've had to do that a few times with my setup. Good luck

I know of another huge cave with a uranium node. It is a long way down a valley from where I placed my hub. Of course one thing I quickly found out in Satisfactory is that some things are a long way away. I found a caterium node not too far from a coal node. I have MK1 conveyors crossing the seemingly infinitely deep chasms so I can get to them, the caterium especially since it is hard to find nodes of it (or at least I have not discovered more. I cheated a bit and used a map to find the oil. I really don't want to go through the crazy part of the map full of cliffs and huge mushrooms just yet until I have a jetpack and enough fuel to get me back home easily. It is not a place you would want to go without parachutes and a jetpack. I took one look at a part of that place and knew I was not ready to go in there yet.

If the past two videos have taught me anything, it is to set up the plutonium processing FIRST and then work my way backwards to the nuclear power plant(s) setup.
The problem with that is, I think the power requirements of the tiers start going off the charts when you get to uranium, you probably need the reactors to actually have enough power to progress to plutonium processing.

Remove the belts delivering nuclear waste from, let's say, half of nuclear plants so they'll clog, and turn plutonium setup on, this should help

Kibitz Those batteries that can connect to your power grid those are how you get your self more time and here is how-
Step one turn off the power plant
Step two connect as many batteries as possible to your power grid
Step three see how long batteries will last
Step four if batteries will not last long enough to satisfy then activate power plant to get more resources to build more batteries and charge the ones that are already placed
Step five deactivate power plant when batteries have a capacity that is satisfactory and are charged
Step six activate power plant to recharge batteries
Step seven turn off power plant until batteries run out
Step eight turn on power plant when batteries run out
Step nine wait until batteries are full then repeat steps seven and eight and this step until plutonium stuff completed
I would like to see you convert it all into plutonium and sink it

Tip, active you current setup and power down a few nuke and make a second setup to compensate for the offset

Kibz the pretzel 75 valve is actually representative of a real flowmeter used in some systems. It’s called a Coriolis Flowmeter

So I assume that you know this because to be honest you're way more dedicated to this game than I am, But you can sink plutonium fuel rods... At least you could a while ago which means you can actually just completely get rid of nuclear waste and the plutonium power generation isn't that much greater than nuclear and plutonium waste is way more radioactive and there's nothing you can do with that. Like I said you probably know all of this and are probably planning on doing something like that. I really enjoy your series your attention to detail and aesthetics is commendable. I usually end up getting so overwhelmed I just say screw it and put things in I have things clipping through each other and all kinds of crazy stuff but it works.
why don't you just disconnect all or at least most of your nuclear power plants ? Keep playing this game, you re definitly the best at it !

Just turn off your nuclear set up you have your coal and oil powerplants and build the plutonium without stress, when it is done just turn everything on again step by step

I don't know how all of this works, but... couldn't you just turn off the Nuclear Reactors? Stop the flow of fuel and you'd stop producing waste... Your working power budget would decrease...

Maybe I'm missing something but why not just stack on more storage bins. It'll give you another 10 hours, or double it for 20. It'll be a massive nuclear eye sore but it'll buy you time. Great work regardless and I look forward to seeing how you solve this.
If you are looking to Sink all the waste then you should have stuck with the standard Non-Fissile Uranium recipe;
it recycles 50% more waste.
Also, Uranium ore is way more scarce than quartz, using it just to make Fertile Uranium instead of making more Uranium fuel rods is a waste.
Here's an idea ... "TURN OFF THE NUCLEAR PLANTS YOU DON'T NEED FOR NOW" ... to slow down the waste production :)
