    I've done dog grooming professionally and have worked for a dog groomer. None of our clients would ever want to pay this amount. That being said...... Golden Doodles are one of the most intensive grooms a groomer will ever perform. They are almost always matted and often are not cooperative during the groom. Also, a scissor cut, although a beautiful look, is extremely labor intensive. Most pet owners are happy with just a clipper cut and those can take hours on a Doodle. I can understand why the defendant was shocked at the bill, but the salon definitely put an extraordinary amount of work grooming her dogs. It's shady that the defendant didn't even pay anything.

      i think a more fair verdict would have been to order the defendant to pay the average rate for the service since the plaintiffs did not make it clear what the cost would be and they allowed the defendant to assume that they would charge her around 130 per dog .

      It's shady that the groomer's pamphlet is an older one. I bet you they keep it like this to bamboozle clients. The prices for services are different in their pamphlet than what they verbally or through texts state. Change the discrepancy, make an updated brochure.

    • @marleonetti7
      @marleonetti7 Год назад +4

      @@kellismith4329 most likely the reason she did not pay was that the plaintiffs were not gonna accept a payment that was lower than what they were asking once the job was finished . we would all be rich if we could get away with not telling people what we were gonna charge them and then hit them with a huge bill even though we knew the customer thought the price would be much lower . i think there should have been a lesson in good business that the judge could have taught the plaintiffs but now they will continue over charging unsuspecting people who they know think the charge will be lower , to me the plaintiffs are shady .

      I used to groom cats and Golden Doodles sound alot like Persian cats. Most people dont know how much maintenance these particular kinds of pets are before investing. Theyre very beautiful when groomed consistently, but as soon as the owner does not keep up with the fur management, Persians get matted quick. It took me nearly 4 hours to groom one of these cats because it was elderly (so very brush sensitive), and the owners did not want it to have the hair cut. Needless to say, we charged alot more, but the owners were more than happy to pay because they knew it was necessary.

      I hate to compare it to car work (because dogs are so much more than an object and shouldn’t be compared at all) but if I go to get my car worked on, I need paperwork for whatever you are quoting me on before you touch my car. You mentioned additional charges and I would need that in writing as well. On toilet paper or written in crayon just as long as I get it on video lol 😂

    I have a standard poodle with medium hair like these doodles. The groomer’s prices are fair for a professional cut, hand scissoring. If you’re charged significantly less than that, your groomer is probably clipping the dog with a razor. Which is totally fine, if you’re okay with that look. 90% of poodles and doodles are probably done with a razor, and clipped short to remove the mats. Combing out those mats takes forever. Drying a poodle or doodle takes at least an hour, especially if you’re trying to get the hair bone straight. The benefit of getting the hair super straight is that it will look so much nicer, and the cut will last longer. My standard poodle costs a bit under $250. He normally takes from 9 AM to 2 PM. If you have your poodle or doodle groomed by a high level poodle professional who does scissoring, you can tell the difference than getting your dog groomed by someone who doesn’t specialize in poodles.

      Huh? I have a Large goldendoodle & a standard poodle.. It's only 65 dollars pure dog, and that's the package 1 up from a basic groom that includes extras... Granted both of my dogs are very well-behaved & brushed regularly so they're never matted.. If the dogs where extremely matted I can understand how it would cost that much pur dog. Most groomers have to shave matted dogs and so many ppl get Poodles or doodle mutts and don't spend the time to research how to properly brush them and then do it regularly. It's ridiculous! But the grooming Salon should have a form they have to sign then it should say if the dogs are matted it's $15 pure 15 minutes of dematting extra. I've never had a groomer not have my initial that even tho my dogs aren't ever matted so I never have to pay it. But I've never spent more than 100 on each dog..

    • @ChronicallyRollingWithIt

      @Haleighmaineee This is failure on your part... U have to brush them DAILY. And if u can't do that, u simply should shave them short to prevent matting or/and not have gotten a HIGH MAINTENANCE dog... I have a goldendoodle mutt & a standard poodle. Never once are my dogs matted, they get regular grooms every 6 weeks each as well as daily brushing.. This is on you neglecting that, it's preventable... They need regular brushing as well as gone through with a comb to get their underfur.... Matting is extremely painful for them, it can cause skin rashes, infections, it can even cut off the circulation of body parts such as the tail. IF you can't brush them regularly, u shouldn't have chosen high maintenance dogs.. Hell, I have Physical and medical disabilities & I still make sure my dogs aren't matted and get brushed regularly... If u can't do the bare minimum u should be keeping their fur short & still bringing them to a groomer just for brushing twice a week if your unwilling to brush them. Also I've never spent more than 100 pure dog, but again, I never have to pay dematting fees bc they're never matted & also highly trained to behave at the groomers. This comment shows your Negligence bc matted dogs is PREVENTABLE.

    Dog groomer here. I can say most of the time when a doddle comes the de matting process is long. 100 dollar job would have been a shave down. I usually charge about 120 per doddle. If there are mats and knots there is a upcharge. That's why the groomer was keeping communication through text. Smaller doodles around 75. And the teeth brushing is what it is. We can do the teeth brushing. But that's something that needs to be done at home. It's like us. We brush our teeth daily. I am gonna take a wild guess and say these dogs took about 8 hours. We recommend monthly appointments for doodles to keep the coat in good condition. Please research the breed before you buy doodles. They are alot for upkeep about the same as a standard poodle but the fur is Wavy which can't unfortunately knot and mat easily. And if you bring them every 4 weeks it's easier in the dog and the groomer. That groomer could have easily said that the dog was too matted and needed a shave down.

    Dogs have mineral-rich saliva. It accumulates, bit by bit, every time a dog produces saliva. If it's not brushed frequently enough, it will harden like CEMENT.
    Brushing your dog's teeth, consistently, at least 3 TIMES a WEEK will save you thousands in dental cleaning fees later on.

      I don’t think she was told either in the hallway the lady is just adding extra type of service that she didn’t even mention in court. Secondly why not have updated brochures about the prices and you’ve been in business over a year? And why have the business setup to where only management can take credit cards? I would write a review about the great work but also include everything else

    I can't stand people like the "Blue hair" defendant. She makes me sick by not paying for all their hard work. She's also a liar and it's obvious. Scissor cuts are not only very hard to do they also take a long time. I couldn't even imagine doing that on a dog. I've done it on a lot of men's haircuts ...you use the scissors rather than the clippers for the back and/or sides. And yes...they pay a higher price for it!

This dog was completely hand groomed/ scissored and left with a longer fluff dried, dematted coat. She knew what she got. Scammer!

      I teach clients the slow approach, put dog on a leash, present the clippers with food as a positive then make the clipper "sound" ...don't clip but give it a piece of food. That's day one, you don't clip at all until day two. This makes the clipper a 100% reward (sight of it and the sound of it). On day two same approach, food reward then "touch" the nail with the clipper while giving it food. Eventually you clip. Cesar Milan's show since 2005 taught me this. We condition the dogs brain clipper=positive reward. 😀🐕‍🦺

      Should have had him socialised more with strangers. Our new puppy has just finished puppy school which was done at a Veterinary Clinic. Each lesson they would take one or 2 dogs into the clinic without their owners to meet the nurses and vets and to teach them not to be afraid of the vet, our puppy got taken in twice.

    • @MusicTennis
      @MusicTennis Год назад

      The first mistake people make when meeting a new dog is give it eye contact. With dogs it's "nose, eyes, ears". Nose is their primary sense. Their born blind and deaf for 2-3 weeks. Dog owners, groomers, vets, rescues, fosters, etc should tell someone who wants to meet the dog to not look at it for a minute. Stand still, relax and let the dog come up to you and "gain your scent". Once they sniff you and see you're a calm energy they relax then it's okay to look at it. Basic Cesar Milan stuff since 2005.

    Work at a vet clinic with cats. When the fur is badly matted it is very difficult to remove, even with just shaving it off. We only do medically necessary grooming (to take care of mats or wounds) and for a badly matted 10-15 pound cat that requires half or more of its fur shaved we charge $120. And we are not professional groomers. There’s no way in hell she’s getting those big dogs dematted, bathed and hand cut for $130 each.
    Also teeth brushing at the groomers doesn’t do anything if the owners don’t do regular teeth brushing (2-3 times a week) at home as well. It is absolutely pointless and won’t get the dogs’ teeth clean if it’s a once in a while treatment.
