It was teased; now here it is! Feels like I've graduated from a Branson to Vegas! They all sound great. Last Muslim Conquest and the Martin Luther one stand out in particular. I'm starting to sense the history of religion become something of a niche for me, and I haven't traditionally done niches. I know virtually NOTHING about the history or philosophy of art, but you're somehow making it sound interesting. Looking forward to the coming installments.
I'm going to try to get both in before Q3 gets here. And "The Owl and the Nightingale" is in the next installment. Still on for it sometime next month if you are. I can't get too far behind if it's only 80 pages, right? 😄
Denmark Vesey's Bible sounds really interesting. I might have to grab that soon. The Word Hord and Five Million Year Odyssey also sound really good. Looking forward to your next vid on these hauls.
The Last Muslim Conquest appeals the most as I’ve been listening to the excellent Empire podcast which did a series on the Ottoman Empire which was fascinating! Looking forward to seeing what else you picked up John!
Nice ecclectic nonfiction haul, looking forward to the others as eell. 5million Year Odyssey looks the most interesting to me out of what you showed. Big surprise i know lol
Anything on anthropology is going to be steep learning curve for me, but it's one of those gaps that needs to be addressed. And whenever I look for a textbook online that's less than 10 years old, they always want >$100 for it. So I figured this'll have to do instead. Time to chat up Erica on Voxer with questions!
Oh, a multi-volume history of Islam. With great reviews on Goodreads to boot! These are the kinds of comments I'm looking for. Thank you so much for taking the time to drop a recommendation!
I'm looking forward to you reviewing some of these books. Several will get on my Historathon list.

I’ve just got The Word Hord. Buddy read, buddy read? You know you want to 😊
Nice haul. I’m happy to see Wordhord! I really enjoyed that one. Defaced looks interesting.

"Denmark Vesey's Bible" is definitely a frontrunner for Quarter 4. Glad you saw a couple things you liked!

Aren't Anita and William simply wonderful? Love that podcast dearly. It's taught me so much.
They really are and yes, me too and it’s added so many books to my want to read list!

I strongly recommend The Venture of Islam by Marshal Hodgson for Muslim history

The Word Hord has piqued my interest! (chunter chunter darned auto correct!)
Should keep you out of mischief for a while. Best wishes.
I wouldn't be so sure...
