Loved the review man! Well done~ Still piecing together my own thoughts on the Boog75 (typing on it right now haha) but I have nothing but compliments to give. It's a solid board with a clean aesthetic that sounds great, feels great, and performs top tier in whatever competitive shooter I throw at it.
Merkeebs! Thank for tuning in brother. You got that right, it’s really nuts just how sensitive you can set the Boog75 to actuate. Think im gonna keep returning to this board for a while
@@zekedgtl haha i'm very glad I made the right choice! I've also made my final decision after seeing how clean the Induction Coil colorway looks. Idk I feel like Induction Coil >>> Shockwave
Hey man... I love my Norbaforce and Heavy-6. Topre boards are my daily drivers. But this little number will serve as a great "gaming-centric" alternative on my desk. Excellent review!
I was wondering how come many manufactures of HE keyboards specify they are compatible with their/xxx switches only, like even Keychron Q1 HE states "*The Q1 HE is compatible with the magnetic switches sold on the Keychron website only.". Why is that so? Does that stay true to Boog75 as well? P.S. My modded (acoustics/vibration dampening used in auto-mobile/sound industry) Keychron V1 Max with Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow sounds as good, if not better! :P Yesterday ordered TTC Silent Frozen V2 switches to check them out.
I’m not 100% sure due to so many variables, but I imagine the brands only really have longterm test results on their in-house switches giving them confidence in it. The tech is pretty new to a lot of companies so they’re all racing to increase compatibility but just haven’t nailed it yet
The Wooting 60HE (as well as the upcoming 80HE) has true analogue key responses, meaning that it reads how hard or softly you're pressing a key and responds accordingly, particularly with character movement in a game. This is different from multipoint actuation, which the Boog75 does indeed have (meaning that pressing a key down to different points will cause different key functions to respond or actuate). My understanding is that the Boog75 does _not_ have analogue key responses, giving the Wooting 60HE a clear advantage, even though the Boog75 is clearly a better built keyboard in terms of aesthetics, sound, etc. Am I wrong in this? Do the keys (the WASD keys, for instance) truly mimic the analogue thumbstick? I haven't been able to find much about this online, and none of the reviewers I've seen has said anything one way or the other about it. Yes, it has Rapid Trigger, yes it has multipoint actuation... but what about the analogue key response?
They utilize Hall Effect there is no analog because there are no physical contacts being made in either board from my understanding. Hall effect is triggered by magnetic proximity & electrical conduction. It’s all the same technology even in controllers. You can call it different buzz words but I really wouldn’t overthink it. Wooting had a great idea but truth is the words out on the technology and it’s popping up in boards everywhere.
@@zekedgtl Granted it's not "true" analog, but the Wooting has an "analog mode" that mimics thumbsticks by detecting exactly how much and how hard you're pressing a key. I've yet to see any review of the Boog75 address this at all, comparing the movements in a game like Fortnite using a Wooting 60HE compared to a Boog75. After doing some further reading, and noting the absence of this particular discussion in any review of the Boog75 that I've seen, I've come to the conclusion that the Boog75 lacks this particular feature that is one of the selling points of the Wooting 60HE. This is sad because the Boog75 is a better built machine overall in terms of aesthetics and the materials used. It sounds just incredible out of the box, based on all of the reviews, but rapid-trigger by itself isn't enough for me to justify the cost. I'm gonna hold out for the Wooting 80HE.
@concernedcitizen6313 oh I see what you mean now. This specific implementation focuses moreso on actuation and release like a typical keyboard functions but you can achieve rapid trigger by resetting the input much quicker than a typical switch. Often in controllers the triggers input amount will vary based on how far in the button is pressed or “pressure sensitive”. That’s a pretty niche featuring and I think the closest you’ll get to mimicking that on the Boog75 is the Dynamic keystroke where you can add multiple function throughout the key press. But na you’re right I don’t believe the Boog75 has that specific feature. Lol if I were you I’d just use a controller 🤣 jk
Good review dude. That board sounds very nice and thocky. I just wonder how popular the magnetic switches will be in the future. Being able to adjust the sensibility does sound kinda cool, but it also sounds like a gimmick to me.
Thanks for watching. That’s a fair assessment it’s pretty niche but with the amount of keyboards coming out these days there’s a little bit for everyone. As long as the performance lasts I’m sure this’ll be useful for gamers until something more cutting edge replaces it I guess lol
Thank you, I believe the original pre-orders were scheduled to arrive around late January but I’m not quite sure how the schedule is looking now. You can always check the Meletrix discord for updates
That's weird that they told you not to try other switches. Other creators did try other offerings and they did with without issue. The consensus is that the Gateron Jade are the best of the company's offerings by a significant margin. I'm waiting to see more about other HE switches but hoping Geon's offering is decent. I don't think Outemu's offering is being reviewed.
Were these tested with the Boog75? I have the Gateron Jades as well and I like them I just haven’t been able to test them on a PCB lol. The KS37b was designed specifically for this board so other switches may not perform as optimally - or at all maybe. this is technically still an early unit so when they arrive to consumers this could be further expounded. But I can’t imagine the jades outperforming these by any significance. Did they specify how/where the jades excel?
@@zekedgtl in general reviewers of the Jades say that the sound and feel are just flat out better. Smoother, less wobble and "crap" noises, tigher tolerances. It does have a shorter travel (I guess it's a long pole?) I ordered an HE module (Since I have a Zoom75) and hope does allow at least other Gateron choices to be used.
@albertko1 ah I see, the bottom is also closed instead of an open hole like these so can imagine some differences in sound. But sheeesh this Boog75 sounds amazing in my opinion
love the keyboard, but the colours make it a no go for me. my setup is wholly black and white, and the 2 colour variants both have accent colours that wont fit in nicely. hopefully they come out with more colour variants at some point!
This is getting out of hand... Too much quality for too little money. I'm calling it. In 10 years companies will be giving out custom boards for free when you buy a keycap set.
$85? The most expensive shipping I saw was $50 and that was the pricy one. If you don’t mind, where you located? I can probably recommend closer vendor where the shipping is cheaper

Could you swap out the pcb, with a normal zoom 75 pcb
