I received the MaxRoad 6 early and have over 400 miles on my pair. The outsole and midsole still have plenty of life in them and I foresee pushing them to 500 miles without much issue. I live in FL and the upper hasn’t been overly warm. The MR6 runs surprisingly well and quick despite the weight. I’ll put it this way…despite receiving the shoe early, I opted to purchase another pair on my own. Don’t sleep on the MaxRoad 6!
QOD: My current easy day shoe is the New Balance Fresh Foam More v4, I like it 😂much better than the v3. Changing the subject, why is a heavy shoe bad for easy or daily trainer? I'm the opposite, I want a heavy shoe for an easy day or daily trainer. My reason is that I want to gain strength while training, and then when I race and put on a light racing shoe (like the Nike Vaporfly), it feels like I'm cheating. I was just wondering if other runners feel the same way? All the best!
QD: Nike Invincible Run 2, they’re just so squishy they really help me slow down, maybe a little too big for me but I have 350 miles on them and they’re still going
QD: I use the Nike Invincible 2 for my easy runs. I have 660 miles on my first pair and bought a 2nd pair on discount for when my first pair are ready for retirement. Though the Invincible 2s have worked well, it was a hard decision since I still want to try some of these new max cushion shoes like the Max Road 6. I just couldn't pass up a discount on a shoe I love that has been able to take on more miles than any running shoe I've owned.
Seth, At about 52 seconds in there is a rare 60s vintage station wagon in the background. Maybe a Plymouth or Dodge? Everyone is showin' up for the new MAX ROAD 6 I guess!
the weight disqualifies it for me. Loved the 4 and 4+, one of the few shoes that I bought multiple pairs of as they wore out instead of trying something else.
Not a huge fan of what they did with the max road line, to be honest. I'm sure it's still a fantastic shoe, but I really enjoyed using it as a peppy and relatively lightweight long run shoe, and it seems like this iteration will be way too clunky for that. It's like they packaged the Max Road 5 engine into the frame of an easy day "bop along" shoe.
The original Max Road 5 had a less breathable upper and Skechers updated with a more breathable one. I wonder why they didn’t start with the more breathable upper this time.
At 4:57 you brought up weight again…. Why do you see it as a negative ? Wouldn’t it be a POSITIVE… yeah you ran with EXTRA weight.. soooo?? Just improve your time in it… put on the lighter shoe for RACE day… and if it DOESNT help in your Time WEIGHT is a gimmick … and if it does help then maybe there is some science but blaming weight all the time how you did is stupid
If the weight is the lowest score of this shoe then this shows that this shoe is great enough for the masses

I’m a stability guy, so Guide 16 for easy day. Also daily trainer tbh. Hoping the Kayano 30 will become the easy day shoe.

QD: My favorite easy day shoe is the SC Trainer. Never thought a shoe could beat out the Nike Invincibles but it surely did.

Your extended use of this shoe would indicate that the weight (short of it being a brick) is relatively unimportant.

It’s so hard to believe that this is the same lineup as the Max Road 5. It’s such a chunky looking shoe.
I think it could be a mistake to keep asking for lighter and lighter shoes. We did it with bicycles and paid $$$ and increased maintenance.
