So I have a BMW E93 M3. I have been debating with myself if I should trade the older M3 for a M2 competition. But damn that V8 is amazing. The car is so fun to drive.
Great video Joe, steering locks are more important now than ever though. With all the keyless entry thefts the thieves still don't factor in cutting off a steering lock once they get in and get it started. They just go to the next poor sod who hasn't got one. I use mine every night, takes 10 seconds to put on and take off.
Yeah totally agree mate, I always avoid keyless entry on my cars (impossible on the 7 of course). I get how valuable the wheel locks are, but just couldn't deal with one rolling around the cabin on every drive 😉
Yeah that was my fault, I told him to film us and not the exhaust, I was meant to then film the exhaust more and have better overlays, I forgot 🤦🏻♂️🤷♂️👊

Any issues with the exhaust modifications when it comes to warranty? I have my M2C on PCP with BMW Finance and not sure if I can even pull the trigger on the Remus exhaust.
@@MrDJLeeE depends how drastic of a mod your doing, also if you buy a exhaust you could just keep the original and put it back on when you want to give the car back then eBay the exhaust
Any modification (small or big, visual or performance, permanent/reversible) will breach the terms of the finance/PCP agreement and so you will be asked to pay the full amount of the finance outstanding if BMW/finance company find out. Don’t breach the terms of your agreement - not worth the potential hassle

I took my M2 to Phantom Tuning in Bedford (they’re in Kent to). The car is like a rocket ship now. Shame the weather is so bad now I can’t enjoy it. Can that link pipe be fitted to the standard exhaust and unleash some of the character back in to the exhaust sound (by character, I mean of course the pops and bangs lol)
Curious to hear your thoughts, I have a M235i right now, but I'd love a M2 Comp. Right now the 235 is PCPd at 320/mo (in positive equity too!), and the cost of an optioned up M2C is about 600/mo & 11k down. Do you think it's worth the extra money? Would you keep the 235 or is it really that big of a step up? After all, it was your videos on the M-lites that helped me make the decision to pick the 235 up. Finding it incredibly difficult to even get a test drive due to my age (most places don't cover under 25s for M cars unfortunately), so any additional thoughts with the consideration of owning a 235 would be great. Do any of those upgrades void your guarantee? I have an M4 Comp coming to the end of its warranty and think about some spacers and a few other bits but I'm also in two minds wether to extend the warranty?
Asked my BMW garage about this... spacers will void your differential warranty as you've widened the rear track. Springs will obviously void your suspension warranty also.

I also find it odd because berry bmw send their cars to motech for some mods so it's a bit annoying that a dealer will do it, but if we do it after it voids the warranty.
Ellis Shepherd it’s still at the dealer’s discretion (some are more anal than others) so don’t take my word for it but that’s what I was told. Maybe ask them at your next service (ask to speak to the mechanic working on the car, not the service reps as they won’t know what you’re talking about) to double check 👍🏼
Only issue I can see is you lose the exhaust crossover with the resonator delete. This can reduce power and torque in some cases. I wonder if anyone sells an H or X crossover resonator delete section?

Interested in the Remus race axle back system for my M2C but I am concerned about the check engine lights coming on. Is this still a problem? And if so are there any fixes?
I have had those lights come on a couple of times over the past 6k miles, there is a hardware fix now but you will need to research onlinem the exhaust makes a huge difference
if your looking at just the Axel back their shouldn't be a problem, its when you start to play with OPF's that its starts acting up but there are now solutions for this to! so you can now have a full catback too with out a problem.
I would love to Remus my M140i, but its financed so I think BMW would pull my strides down and spank my bare arse whilst demanding I pay in full and taking my left kidney! I can hear a bit of overrun rumble in sport mode, despite the OPF's (mine being the last from the factory 19 plate). Would also love to fit those M2 comp seats.
It's a S55 😉 Car is less than a year old and in the public eye, it would be too risky doing any kind of engine tune, I also believe 410bhp in a manual rwd car is more than enough in the UK

Oh yes also, not sure what you think, but I definatly feel at least in the demo car I test drove, the 0-60 time and the HP is faster than 8.5secs and 138HP 130mph! In usual BMW style under estimating, as you've noted many times before.
I’ve always had to remove the wheel to get the centre cap out without risking damaging the wheel face. Is their a way to do it with the wheel still attached?

Yes you will 100% , the change in back pressure triggers the sensors on the OPF and you get a CEL. Clear it and your good to go for another 1k miles before it's on again!
@@scottfromengland2303 I use a Vgate OBD tool and an app on Android. Bear in mind along with CEL you will likely get limp mode, when clearing you will need to take it out for a good blast before you get the power back again. I'm getting mine tuned as it's getting annoying now.
I hope you realize that it's not the OPF that limits the sounds on the exhausts. The OPF is there for emissions and does little to the sound of a catted car. It's the silencers for the noise regulations that restrain the exhaust volume. In so many videos you are (wrongly) commenting on the OPF...

@@JoeAchilles1 A lock smith comes with a drill and opens your door and replaces your lock but with Rim gard once everything is locked even a drill cant penetrate it hence why I am asking what do you do when you put everything together and the key breaks within the keyhole? (Very unlikely but just a what if moment)

Can you give some insight into why you chose the Remus. Did you look at any of the other setups... Eisenmann, Tubi, Miltek, Akra etc?

Keep the 235 till your really bored of it and then get something completely different. m2 will be different but only when you are really pushing it
Have you done an everyday driver review of the M2 like you did with the 1 series? As in mountain bike fitting in the back etc

Changed too the Remus axle back about 13.000 miles ago.
no problem with check engine light not even once.

BMW wont do any exhaust mods anymore due to German emission laws etc... Pads are fairly easy to fit in reality. Rimgards take 10 mins to fit

What about applying some sticky tape. Then use the loose ends as "handles" and pull that thing out...
I use a very very thin watch battery flat head screw driver, thankfully the Rimgards have a grove to allow you to remove easily now

Yes you will 100% , the change in back pressure triggers the sensors on the OPF and you get a CEL. Clear it and your good to go for another 1k miles before it's on again!

@@scottfromengland2303 I use a Vgate OBD tool and an app on Android. Bear in mind along with CEL you will likely get limp mode, when clearing you will need to take it out for a good blast before you get the power back again. I'm getting mine tuned as it's getting annoying now.

There isn't a M performance exhaust for the Comp

I hope you realize that it's not the OPF that limits the sounds on the exhausts. The OPF is there for emissions and does little to the sound of a catted car. It's the silencers for the noise regulations that restrain the exhaust volume. In so many videos you are (wrongly) commenting on the OPF...

What a question... What if the key breaks in your front door (that you use every day) and it stays in the lock....?
@@JoeAchilles1 A lock smith comes with a drill and opens your door and replaces your lock but with Rim gard once everything is locked even a drill cant penetrate it hence why I am asking what do you do when you put everything together and the key breaks within the keyhole? (Very unlikely but just a what if moment)
