Definitely Judy Garland singing Old Man River. you need some schoolin' on one of the greatest stars of the 20thj century to ever grace a stage or a movie.dynamite in a tiny body 4 ft 11in tall, giant lung power. her lifer story is so tragic.
@@TOOSUSHI Caroline Kennedy was eleven years old when this song was realeased in 1969- yikes, for sure, it wasn't written abour her. In 2007 Diamond first made the claim that it was to add to the enthusiasm for what, by then, had been a five year-old Fenway Park tradition for the crowd to sing along with a recording in the middle of every eigth inning of a Boston Red Sox home game. (Positve nostalgia about the JFK Camelot years and the rest of the Kennedy family was quite high in Massachusetts throughout the Bush 43 years.) Diamond later fessed up the song was written for his second wife Marcia, whom he had married in 1969. Unfortunately for Marcia, there was no getting around that the notes of the tune required three syllables for the name of the lyrics' love interest. As it happens Caroline scans perfectly for some reason- Sweet Barbara, not so much.
Hey Sushi! So glad your back! Love your reactions. Missed you! I would love for you to do a reaction to Bridge Over Trouble Water by the South Korean singer Sohyoung. The one from the singing competition show. I’ve heard a lot of singers in my 75 years and I truly believe she is the best EVER! You will love it! Thank you!❤️
Happy new year to you Sushi. Glad to see you back I played this song for 3 yrs in an english youth marching band in the mid to late 80s. Appeared two times at Wembley Arena, and The Royal Albert hall 3 times.
Hello Darl'en. I cannot tell you how much this wore out Papaw has missed your smiling face. (I was following you on FB and IG but both of those got viruses so I deleted them and lost you) Neil Diamond was my very first concert more moons ago than I care to think about. I'm 52 now and it was a few years before my sister was born when I was 11. I love seeing young'un's hearing what I grew up on. I consider myself extremely blessed to have such an eclectic exposure to music. About the only genre I wasn't really exposed to is Speed Metal. Keep smiling Darl'en. We love ya.
TooSushi- Neil Diamond is one of the all time greats and Sweet Caroline is well known. Great song. I reccomend you react to Elvis Live in Aloha from Hawaii 1973 singing What Now My Love.
Love this song ❤ and the artist! Niel Diamond was a great song writer as well. I think that he pretty much wrote all his own songs and had a number of hits. I saw him live in concert once and it was amazing!
Great Performer He has many other's Enjoyed This! Neil Diamond with Barbara Streisand Duet,You Don't Bring Me Flower's Anymore. 👍 PS Great to see You at it again and Smiling Hope all is well & Best Wishes moving Forward! 🙏
Wow! This song brings back many memories of when I was in the Army. We used to sing this song when we were on patrols in Iraq. Also, I am glad that you are back. Nobody does reactions like you.
this song has become practically a national anthem in the music world! the whole world in fact! an American music icon, legendary singer/songwriter. So many from him: Cracklin Rosie, Cherry Cherry, Solitary Man, Forever in Blue Jeans - the list is a mile long. In the Hall of fame and The Singer/Songwriter Hall of Fame, grammy wards - you name it he;s got accolades on accolades - and very well deserved. one of our national treasures.
Being Gen X this was a song of our generation. This song was transgenerational and covered by many. Elvis even covered it. That's how powerful it was and touched so many. 🤘
Me and the wife were in Walmart a few years ago and after he sang Sweet Caroline a few aisles away we heard bom bom bom. Crazy. But I can say that wherever you hear this song you’re gonna hear that response.
This song is iconic in Britain. The song is about his wife at the time but using a different name. He actually used Caroline Kennedy’s name because his wife’s name(Marsha) didn’t have the right sound to it.
Love your videos, im a dj so know some bangers. When i find a few worthy of your reaction ill send them over. Please keep it up, great to see you back.
I've seen him in Concert in Syracuse NY, and when he sings "SWEET CAROLINE," the audience is louder than a Metallica concert!!! Don't tell James Hetfield though :P
@@TOOSUSHI Well, the power went out somewhere during the show, so to keep the audience entertained, he dropped his pants and danced around for a bit. Yep, that actually happened lol... So yea, there was a LOT of energy in the air that night...
He has many other songs, more that can be listed, that will knock your socks off! He is a songwriter first and then a singer. Started out in the late 60's, wrote songs for others and then for himself, many artists have done covers of his songs! One of the Greatest singer/songwriter of "soft rock" there ever was. I have several albums of his early stuff! In my day(60s-70s) had as many hard albums as I had soft, still have much of it with me( in my 70s now), over 2000 albums!
Hi Darlin you should have seen him live, outrageous, you got it right, took my wife to see him right after we got married and she went up to the stage and grabbed his leg and he went across the stage and never missed a note while dragging my wife, it was hilarious
I know that this song was written, recorded, and released in the late 1960s,but if you have ever watched the Helen Hunt/William Hurt movie "Miracle Season"(2019)and research Caroline Found(the inspiration for the movie),this song has an even greater emotional impact than at first intended.
He didn't write it for her. The picture on the cover of the September 7,1962 issue of Time Magazine inspired him for the song title. Sweet Caroline was released seven years later, in 1969. He sang it on her 50th birthday and they're good friends in case you might think he had some unhealthy obsession with her.
There is a REASON they call this man The GOAT..............He was and is phenomenal. Dozens and dozens of amazing song by Neil Diamond. Sadly Mr Diamond is not in great health. He is suffering from Parkinsons disease. An absolute Living LEGEND.
Sushi you are the definition of a PERFECT woman hands down.. your hair, your beautiful eyes, your beautiful face, those gorgeous lips, sorry for being strange but you are the most beautiful woman reactor I’ve seen on RUclips.😘😘😘

Two singers that have been around a while, Joe who is one of the greatest guitar players alive, and Beth who has an amazing voice, team up. Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa doing "I'll Take Care Of You". ruclips.net/video/nW3OrLHj0lQ/видео.html If you've heard it, or want a back up, try a young up and coming artist that will turn 19 in just a few days, Angelina Jordan w/ Toby Gad on piano, "Bad Valentine". ruclips.net/video/yTjzhPSVguc/видео.html

Caroline is Caroline Kennedy. The song was inspired by a magazine cover Neil saw on a news stand. They'd never met before the song became popular.
Awe so sweet 💕

As I recall it was many years before he said it was for JFK’s daughter.
The chorus of this song has become an anthem for many colleges and professional sporting events!
Need to hear it being sang with a football crowd singing it Magic!❤
