Personally, as a 5w4, I relate to most of what he says. The one thing I disagree with, is the schedule thing. I feel like my life is already regimented enough, by work and sleep, that if I were to further plan out all the minutia, I would end up introducing unnecessary stress and irritation due to the invariable interruptions and breaks life will throw at you. I prefer to manage my expectations and allow for the fact that life is chaotic, and I feel more comfortable expecting chaos and dealing with it, than planning everything out and being disappointed when it falls apart. Like he said, it might seem like our decisions are impulsive, but they're really just highly intuitive and based on a mountain of research and experience.
Grace! You have to give yourself, your schedule, and your to-do's some grace. Many things happen in real estate that have to be dealt with immediately (putting out fires) so I am prepared that some things will get shifted around.
I’m a four with a five wing. I can never remember where I park my car at the grocery store, but I can recite from memory entire pages of obscure theology books I read three years ago 🤣
I'm 5w4 and I sometimes also don't remember the most basic informations (like you said, where did you park your car) but what do I remember? Every useless think that I've made a research about to write a story that I'm not going to show to anyone but my closest friends 😂
Definitely resonated with this! Especially putting the week together. I don't typically stick with each piece of the schedule/to-do list (probably because I'm out of energy), but just being able to outline it completely helps me feel more at peace. Helps me feel like my ducks are "in a row" and I won't get thrown for a loop.
As a man who is 100% type 5, I wonder if a lot of people with OCD are type 5. I have OCD, and some of the parts of a type 5 are very natural for a person with OCD.
5w4 here. I relate to schedule thing in that I am more focused, productive, and 'in the zone' when I have some idea of what kind of activities I'll be doing, what types of brainpower/energy I'll be using throughout the day, what kind of people I'll interact with, etc. It'll also help me plan things like taking a walk or Bible study so I know what kind of activities I have planned to recharge. My 'schedule' is currently fridge magnets that say 'groceries', 'meal prep', 'research', 'read', etc. which I'll rearrange as needed.
The thing that confirmed he's a 5w4 for me was the jobs and hobbies. He does music, worked in Home/Stero, did his own graphic design and doing real estate. Becoming competent and finding another thing is definitely me.
Okay now I def think I am a 4w5. I also did graphic design and switched into something I knew nothing about but absolutely love learning it all. I also like knowing things in advance… I once did a stake out before my motorcycle test so I could see how they run the course. Aced it. hahaha. And I am super forgetful but know random weird facts.
I love how the 9 just agrees with everyrhing he says. Like, I had massive anger issues. Yip, I can see you punching ignorant people for being ignorant, yip yeah :) 9s are awesome!
I'm a 5w6, and sloppy job is a big no no. How can you not see that doing it your way is going to backfire on you further down the line? And it's going to take you even more work to correct it!? Do you like working double what you need? C'mon!!! 😂
I’ve recently just dived into the enneagram world, and just within minutes of going through all of the cores, figured I’m almost definitely a 5, probably w4. I’m INTJ(MBTI) but I’ve had a hard time finding my place in the world career wise, and I guess because I’ve always been rather introverted even as a child. I’ve recently found a love for photography, and I’ve dumped a ton of time into learning the technical sides of photography. I want to make it a career, but what is so terrifying about the self-employed side of any job is the tax man, good lord I hope I don’t mess that up when I decide to transition in.
Ha, the fact that he asked for the questions in advance is most definitely a five thing I relate to. Something else I would add to what he said at the end about shifting the way he talks about a situation in order to parent in a way that suits the child, this must also be a five thing that comes with understanding and learning and growth. The way I phrase it is that I approach communication with a person from within their paradigm in order to bring across the intended facts in a way that is grasped, and to remind myself that while it may seem to ME that it makes me less competent or knowledgeable, that is not the goal (the goal is to make sure that the fact has been received and understood) and the person to whom you’re trying to communicate a fact, sits within a different paradigm anyway which is why I am doing what I’m doing in the first place, so they wouldn’t care if the communication is suited to their perception instead of being fact based.
I have a question: Depending on your MBTI will a 5 present themselves differently? I'm trying to figure out my enneagram, I feel like I'm a 5, I'm not quite but I'm looking into it, however, I'm also a perceiver... So I can relate to him, but the hyper organizer ways he has I don't relate much unless I'm stress then I become hyper organized in order to gain control. Hopefully I make sense
5's can vary wildly. One of Hilary's sons is also a 5 and he and I look/function quite differently. I am much more extroverted, though I like my alone time being around people does energize me...to a point. We both seek knowledge and understanding but how we share that knowledge with the world is dramatically different.
I don't know about emotional...😉 Honestly, time management is a big struggle, especially if I'm researching something. I started out this year strong and was managing my time like a champ but the last week or two it has been a struggle. The biggest thing for me is setting aside time either Sunday night or first thing early Monday to plan some kind of overview for my week. If there is a task that I know could consume all of my time and it doesn't HAVE to be done right away I limit myself. I start the task, set a timer, and when the times up I move onto the next one. Also turning off most notifications keeps me from getting distracted.
I honestly don't know...I learned years ago how to tweak with the results. I could see the patterns in the questions and answer them to achieve a certain result.
@@jeremypoehls I just laughed so hard because this is me to a T I was teasing my husband I could take a enneagram off mbti test and score what I want to score because the questions are so obvious to each type and he just didn’t understand that I guess that’s such a 5 thing.
I take forever to make a decision, and my decisions last forever :)
Love this!
Yeees! I relate to it totally!

So insightful! Love hearing how different each type can be. Thanks for sharing!

Amelia N this is amazing!!! 😂😂😂 But so true!!!!
5w4 here. Totally relate! I’ve solved that.... I always park in row 7 now. No exception and I always find my car. ;)

I love when he was talking about his daughter and she might perceive a situation. Very cool, healthy five
his kids are so lucky! i'm so happy for them 🥰
I'm showing this comment to my kids now!! 😂 I'm not perfect, my wife helps me when I'm being too logical and not listening well.

The career switch, I can feel that, it was exciting to chase a new thing but it was very stressful not knowing anything

Awesome!
Great work 🥳 Thank you 💜
Smart guy! Thank you for sharing your insight & knowledge.
Thank you for sharing these videos. I came across you by accident and I'm glad I did. Wanting to learn more about me and what makes me tick.
Oh I love this! Thank you for sharing!
Great video! I can relate to what he said. Thank you for sharing.

This is perfect! I'm a 5 who is joining my wife in real estate, and I hate not knowing everything. Lol
How cool!!!!

Fascinating. You would be a great person to interview! You have amazing knowledge and self awareness.
Hillary McCaskey Very kind of you to say! :)
Great interview!
Thank you!
Is he a Social Five? He's seems so bubbly and outgoing that I wouldn't think he'd be Sx or Sp.

I'm a 9 married to a 5
Self-employed with an emotional four wing?? Share your time-management secret please.
Erin M Oh that’s a good question! I’ll have to ask him and I’ll let you know.

What is Jeremey's mbti type i wonder🤔?
Good question! I sent him a text and he said he couldn't remember. He said he will re take the test and answer this thread.
I'm guessing ENTJ/ESTJ
I'm betting INTJ

he's not a five, he's either 9 or 6.
