Not even that but the construction itself. How they know that ledge wasn't builed on a Friday? So many X factors in a stunt like this. @@deanstewart2382 I did one free climb almost 10 years ago, about 60 feet up a near vertical face in the Colorado Rockies, and I still get nervous when I relive that in my head. It would take a truly desperate situation for me to ever free climb again.
Holy crap man. That clip had my palms sweating like crazy and my heart beating damn near out of my chest.. Every time I see videos like this I feel like I'm gonna piss myself. Seriously, sometimes when I see those people fall off I have to try to feel bad, I mean, they are dancing on the line between brave and stupid!
El Capitan is an accomplishment, this is attention seeking with no benefits whatsoever... If you die climbing El Capitan you'll be remembered for it for years, if you die doing this you'll be forgotten in a week when some other dumb fuck dies doing it... Not many people attempt to free solo or even climb El Capitan, if you climb it only so many people will understand the difficulty of it but they know you have trained for it and calculated your risk... These fuckers look like any other dumb bastard doing stupid shit, the guy in this clip is obviously better than average but he is literally risking his life for attention and nothing else... YODO...
@searcher Why are you making shit up? It took Alex only 3 hours and 56 minutes to solo El Captain and it was 3000 ft up, and they aren't slippery cliffs, it's all dry otherwise he wouldn't free solo it, he may come on parts where it's wet and he has to wipe his foot on dirt or his pants but no one is going to free solo "slippery cliffs" thousands of foot up, that's basically suicide because you need friction on your foot in order to get leverage to climb up, you can't get that with a slippery cliff.
it's hard enough to do a planche handstand on flat, let alone on a ledge. This is much, muuuuch more dangerous than Honnold climbing El Cap. What Honnold did is impressive in a different way. As he says he never free climbs anything over a 7 in intensity. What's so impressive about a dyno when you're on a rope? Honnold is most certainly not doing dynos on his free solos
Norrin Radd no different than any other nation. That particular individual goes by the name of Oleg Criket, moved to the USA, professional gymnast and stuntman.
There's an old legend of how Russian roulette was invented. Some Russian aristocrats were exiled to London, and they found brits so boring and life there lacking excitement to the degree that playing with revolvers started to seem reasonable to them
I sometimes contemplate on whether or not people that participate in such acts are capable of grasping the concept of death. I doubt that they are. It also makes me wonder if they're not empathetic, since they clearly aren't careful with their own lives.
It seems like reckless abandonment. They feel alive when risking theirs. I bet usually they do, it's the whole point. Then again it's hard to say, on such a case by case basis of highrise daredevils.
They are definitely psychopathic. To show that level of disconcern when almost everyone would be scared shitless indicates their probably missing some components in their neurolgic make up. Only psycopaths show this level of fearlessness.
I can't even watch stuff like that. When I get a room 5 or 10 stories off the ground at a hotel and look over the railing or balcony I get weak in the legs. Apparently this reaction is something most of us inherited to KEEP US ALIVE!
I feel my discomfort from watching these types of vids comes from, one the realization that there is zero reason to be that high up unless you are getting paid for a job to be completed and second the sheer disregard for their own life. You can be blown over by wind gusts while standing on the ground at the same height as most skyscrapers and they still think that it couldn't happen while standing on a 6" wide base. There isn't any end goal for it either besides attention, rock climbers make it to the summit of their climb, skydivers do what man was never meant to do, etc. and then you have these guys lol "I climbed out on a ledge and walked around and didn't die".
