Thanks for doing this video. There’s a lot of videos out there of guys opening their box for the first time and showing it’s features but, not many actually showing us how to use it. Good job. Very appreciated, thanks.
I really appreciate this clear video on how to it
I have the same scanner works well
I used this same scantool to program a key to my 2010 Buick Lacrosse! Cheers!
Great video and thank you so much.Just bought the xtool D8 and can't wait to make extra keys for my car👍🏽
I'm impressed with this tool so far.
Very clear instructions- Thank you! ! !
Nice job, thank you for your efforts.
Finally, some help.....thanks!
Thanks for this very informative video
Thanks for making this video 📸 bro
thank you
Great video
These are good tools, I have the D9 BT it does a few more tests than the D8 but both are good tools.
I might have to check out the D9.
I love xtool d8 I need one know
Super
Thanks for showing us how to actually used this tool for its many applications
Good video I subscribe to this channel
If you don’t have any key for a car like lost key
Is any specific key that we have to use thank you
@737mechanic , thank you for the great video.
I do have one question before I buy one using your affiliate link. I'm hearing some conflicting information on what it takes to program a car key. Indications from your video lead me to believe that it will work right out of box.. that anyone with the appropriate scan tool such as this can do it without issue.
And on the other hand, I'm hearing that you can BUY a scan tool with this capability.. but that you can't actually access the function unless you're a licensed / registered locksmith.
Would you be able to shed any light on that one?
Thanks again for all you do, Sir!

You do NOT have to be a locksmith to program a key. These scan tools WILL program a key right out of the box. Locksmiths hate it because they feel people will be able to program their keys themselves like we all use to when you could walk into any Walmart or home depot and have them cut a key for a couple dollars. I am NOT a locksmith and have programmed many keys for people.
Just bought the same d8 peace of kit but It does giving me up as your options are more.Cant program so far.doing the updates but this should be an easy one...got to return the tool back
What are you trying to program?
Can l used this scan tool on Koreans cars?
OTOFIX, Launch, Kingbolen, Autel, Topdon, Thinkcar > xtool
I returned my xtool d8bt, it’s not very good once you compare it to others lol.
All the other tools have battery voltage 🤙🏻🤘🏻
LOL, I would rather have a capable tool and not worry about the voltage readout in the upper right corner. My Autel and my Launch both have the voltage in the upper right corner and I can't tell you the last time I looked at them. The D8BT has a live readout on the VCI, so you could essentially add a 3 foot OBDII extension cord and have the VCI placed anywhere you could see it if the voltage was a big deal. See if any of those others will pull pin codes, programming keys is something I have done a lot and without the xtool almost half of them I would not have been able to do with the Autel or the launch.
If I am diagnosing a car with a charging issue I will be on the live data page reading the voltage there and in most cases will even have my volt meter connected to the battery so I know exactly what the voltage is.
Out of the 3 main scan tools I have the launch is my least favorite, for what I paid for it I have not been impressed compared to the xtool. My Autel is reliable and a very solid unit but it was 3 times the price of the xtool and does not do as much but it is very reliable.
@@737mechanic gotcha it’s good to have multiple scan tools 🤘🏻😁
@@TurnThemWheels Yes it is.
Please this tool and autel im508 which one is the best for key and ECU programming
The autel IM508 will be the best at key programming.
This is great content! Did you report the missed-step (for turning the key on) to Xtool? They need to update the wording. That is an important step
No I guess I should.
What missed step?🤔

can you make a master key when all you have is a valet key with this tool
It does have an "All keys lost function" that will reset and program the immobilizer if all keys are lost so it should work however I would try the normal key program first and see if it will work with a valet key and if it won't then do all keys lost method.
it says it needs a sub master could you go through a all keys lost @@737mechanic
Will it program a H chip with remote key for 2015 Toyota Camry
Although I have not done one myself, the options for the H key are there so I would assume yes.
My question is where did you get the blank keys from, and where did you get them cut at?
I usually get them from Amazon and my local locksmith cuts them. A regular two-sided key is $1.00 per side so $2.00 for most keys to have them cut.
@@737mechanicdo they cut them all the same or are they different cuts? If the cuts are different, how does the locksmith know the correct cuts to make? 🤔
@@737mechanicwish my local auto locksmith charge that price, mine was a whopping $25 just to cut one toyota g chip key like yours. To bad ace hardware is a 30 minute drive from me, but next time I'll be taking that drive to ace hardware instead.
@@only1hollywoodjacko They charged 25 just to cut it not program it also?
@@737mechanic $25 just to cut, no programming or anything because I've already program it myself.
Can u do a toyota or lexus smart key fob
Yes it says it will do it but I have not yet done one.
@@737mechanic can you do some please?😊
@@GoaWay... It's the same process--- you just click "remote" here.. 1:32
Do you if this tool will program the NIssan vehicles? 2004 Nissan Titan for example..
The options are there but I have not personally done one yet. My guess is it will do it.
@@737mechanic Are there any options for mazda vehicles?🤔
@@GoaWay... You can see an option for "zzMazda" right here: 0:42
It has an option for "zzNissan" here: 0:41
@@calholli Thank you 😊. I thought this thing only programmed G & H chipped keys though. Aren't the Mazda keys texas something chipped? 🤔
Can I do all keys lost for a 2016 Lexus Gx460 that has a smart key with this tool?
yes
@@737mechanic can it be done with just the D8 or do you need to buy an attachment? I have a D8 and don't have any experience with it.
@@Nonyabiz69 No attachments needed. The scan tool alone does the job. I do recommend buying the OEM key though. I have programmed about 8 Toyota keys and the OEM's worked perfectly and one of the cheapo knockoffs worked fine for about 6 months then became intermittent on starting the truck and then finally quit all together.
Excellent, thank you. Yes definitely, I bought a new OEM Lexus Key from a dealer.
@@737mechanic It can't do a Smart Key, All keys lost on 2016 Lexus Gx460 without a KC100 and KS1. I tried it yesterday, it doesn't support it.
Why do you need to first erase key?
You don't. The only time you may need to is some cars have a max number that can be programmed into the computer so if that number has been reached and you need to program a new key you would need to remove an old key.
