When you get to that level, I think it’s more about minor, personal details which you feel. It doesn’t mean much to the listener. 95% of it is in the player’s mind.

And now Chris DOES have a dreadnaught that behaves like Julian's Collings. In fact it was built by Collings. Saw him playing it in September of this year.

James Macklin Yes! I saw this as a big hint.

That’s his slumming guitar so he can leave the D28 at home.

Bought a ‘43’ 000-18 that was in a cardboard box 32 years ago. Neck was off/no bridge. Didn’t pay much. Put it back into playing shape. Enjoyed it for about 7 years. Wife ended up with it in the Divorce 24 years ago. Miss that old Martin Hog-not the old Hag. Craft my own now and they be mucho better.

Why did she 'end up' with your guitar? Also, the fact that you make your own guitars is really cool

2 of the best do ever do it. Julian is in a world of his own imo and imo Chris’ touch is only 2nd to Mollys. I love them all. Great to hear them talk about their instruments.

Sounds like Chris need to got Austin and have them build you a modern copy of your fave dread. Julian seems pretty happy with his Collings.

    Just an FYI, at 0:23 that's a D28, not the D18 he's referring to.

True that. It has herringbone trim.

Wrong picture, I'm sure he uses an 18

I'm pretty sure in that picture he is holding Charles Sawtelle's 1937 D-28

He’s holding a D-28 in that picture at 0:23, but he does play an 18 on the record. I’m sure.

Yes I have two Collings. D2HA-SB and an OM2HAC-SB. Both with rosewood and Adirondack. Best sounding and playing guitars I’ve ever owned.

I've played a few Collings over the years and I'd take my HD-28 over everyone of them!

When you can play like he does, people are happy to sell you an instrument.
