I've been looking at others online using this method and so far you're the only one I've seen who has grasped it. You obviously know how to really see and really feel what you're doing. Just one tiny criticism her right eye, left side on canvas, and lift up her left eye Inside next to nose look at them again. You're the only one not afraid to be seen using an eraser which is probably why you're the best I've seen thus far. The others I think are just trying to look good rather than paying attention to creating an accurate representation. I have been doing portraits for a lot of decades. I have never tried this method but I'll give it a go. I'm open to new experiences and challenges it's always exciting. Always be creative. Groove On✌️

Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation! I'm truly honored that you find my work to be unique and well-executed. Your feedback is valuable, and I'll definitely take a closer look at the right eye, left side on the canvas, and the positioning of her left eye inside next to the nose. Constructive criticism helps me improve and refine my art further.
It's wonderful to hear that you've been exploring different methods and techniques online. Embracing new experiences and challenges is what keeps the creative spirit alive! I'm glad to know that my willingness to use an eraser is seen as a positive aspect, as accuracy and attention to detail are essential in creating realistic representations.
It's amazing to hear that you've been doing portraits for decades! Your experience and passion for art are truly inspiring. I encourage you to give this method a try and see where it takes you. Art is a journey of continuous growth and discovery, and I'm sure you'll bring your unique touch and perspective to this process.
Thank you once again for your encouraging words, and I wish you all the best in your artistic endeavors. Keep being creative and grooving on! ✌️🎨

Oh how I wish it were that easy.
Yes, I know, with practice, ability will come, but there definitely must be innate talent to begin with.
One thing I have always wanted know though. When you finally ink in the drawing, if you use the same piece of paper and not a new one on top of the sketch and a light box, you would need to erase all the construction lines. Does that not affect the paper and also, the ink finish?

    • @onepenciltutorial
      @onepenciltutorial  11 месяцев назад +11

      Hi @tomstamford6837,
You've touched on some very important points here! While it's true that some level of innate talent can help, I'd like to stress that dedicated practice can take you a long way in any field, including drawing. Talent might make the initial stages easier for some, but consistent, focused practice is what really builds skill.
As for your question about inking, it's a great one. Yes, erasing the construction lines can indeed affect the paper and the ink finish. How much it affects can depend on the quality of the paper, the type of eraser used, and the type of ink.
Higher quality, heavier weight paper will typically be more durable and withstand erasing better. A soft eraser that lifts graphite well without damaging the paper is also key. As for the ink, waterproof and fade-proof ink can help ensure that your final lines remain crisp and clear even after erasing.
Some artists do prefer to do their final inking on a separate piece of paper, using a lightbox to trace their original sketch. This method has the advantage of keeping the final piece clean and free from eraser marks or potential smudging from the pencil lines.
In the end, it's all about finding what techniques and materials work best for you. Keep experimenting, keep asking great questions, and most importantly, keep drawing! 🎨😊

@@onepenciltutorial Bless you for taking the time and huge effort to reply with such an impressive, informative answer. I feel humbled you did so 😍
I guess I am one of those frustrated artists (though I feel guilty considering calling myself that) who really wants to get into drawing and, of course, would like to be at your level the first time they pick up a pencil!
I have done many things over the years and was fortunate to have done them well first time, but it's the thought of reams of papers being used up before I can claim one success that almost paralyses me from even beginning. I bought Photoshop in 2010, installed it, bought a great book from Adobe and to this day have not even cracked it open and do nothing more than use it for the most basic adjustments to photos!
A term I have heard is 'analysis paralysis' and boy, do I have that. Maybe the older I get the more I dread the effort needed to become proficient in anything?
But again, a heartfelt thanks for your reply, and also your amazing videos. It's people such as yourself that do inspire so many of us and we appreciate your skills and moreover, your tips to help us. I do feel motivated to break the inertia and pick up those pencils - once I dust off the years of accumulated dust. 🙏❤
Best of luck with all you do.

I'd love to know what song is played at 14:00. Very instructive tutorial!

Thank you for your observation. Yes, I can see how the image could look like the Death Star at first. They are both massive circular structures, with a prominent black center. However, there are some important differences between the two. For example, the Death Star has a perfect circular shape, while the picture I drew has an oval shape. Also, the Death Star has large circular holes, while the picture I drew has rectangular holes.
I'm glad you found the photo interesting. I'm always working on improving my art skills, and I appreciate your feedback.
