That's me @svet.hristov, actually and those 20 euro would have definitely been handy for another CO2 cartridge, I needed during the race. Taking risky lines didn't pay off. 😅 bike wise, I had the sram red groupset lying about from racing for teams in the past. It really made the difference in terms of weight. The wheels were from testing I did for a company. Powermeter I got from previous sponsors in the past. All in all I had to spend 80 euro on bearings, cables and brakes. If you can find some cheap cx frame that fits 45 tyres you can probably build something similar(without pm) for ~600-900. Everything rim brake costs peanuts now :) if i had bothered to put carbon bars/seat/seatpost/stems instead of all this basic stuff could have gone under 8kg possibly. Happh riding all :)
@@sergiubors2677 It was me @svet.hristov, no TPU tubes, it's all tubeless but should have spent those 20 euro on more co2 cartidges. 😅 Made a mistake and got a puncture, my co2 had popped in the bag already. After 20 mins someone gave me a co2 but then it was race over.
while true that the guy is a legend, he mentioned that he swapped some parts from what he had laying around including a powermeter, so i don't buy the 180EUR for the actual build that he raced there, but still impressive
@@PatrickLino Imma watch that space! I’d like to score one for myself for endurance days on rough roads. I also love the fact they have built-in down tube storage. I just hope it’s well built and not flimsy 🥹
"No pictures, please!.." - too late.. 😁 I find bringing unreleased bike tech to a big, mass, covered by cycling media event and then asking not taking any pictures is totally ridiculous. So bizarre. Surely it all will be everywhere on the internet anyway. Thanks for another great video, Dave 🙏
It was the UCI, not Orbea, they were checking for the usual, motors, weight ,Haribo!!😂 I'm on good terms with Orbea, they give me some crazy good access to the new stuff. In fact I've a new bike from them coming for review soon, and closer to the bloke with a €160 bike than the top end stuff. - Dave
Pirelli cinturino buahaha how is this guy even in media ? He not only can't even speak english but also can't even rid a simple name of a product. He does it all the time lol
The guy riding on the 160 EUROs bike is an absolute Legend. Period
I must say, it was 180 euro. Those 20 euro are crucial
@@svenjto definitely. He bought TPU tubes for that amount

Love that Svet Hristov guy. Just getting it done!
He's the true winner from the race. - dave
So much variety is why I love gravel more than road racing.
As good as ever Shoddy, as good as ever!!!
2:30 - The frame is a TanTan GR201 🔥
Any plans you’re getting your hands on one?

3:40 ...🤣🤣🤣 this guy is my hero ...
@GCN - you need to do an episode with this absolute legend😂
@Shoddy - thank you and @Velo for chatting with him and letting us all see his rig 😂
Great content Shoddy, keep the content coming Sir! 👌
Thanks, will do! Cheers Dave

Always love your work Dave , very informative !

Nice vid, it’s good to see the bikes and technology! Well done.
Cheers. Some nice kit. - Dave
10:30 another example of DA dropping chains if you breathe on it
Gravel is the hottest segment in cycling right now.
180€, 8.5kg, that is a deal but to e fair, he put some parts on it he already paid. But it`s still a cool bike.
Thouse bits were most definatily from his "very used" bos in the garage. I love it. - Dave
5:38-6:02: That's my friend!
I think in 3:39 it's not bad bike for modern time. It's so good

What’s up with “no pictures please” from UCI officials at 0:38 ? Can’t we have a view on how they do their job?
nice video, saved me from going!!
At the UCI Gravel WC, most seemed to be on road pedals and shoes. 🤔
Yeah, there were a lot. It didn't look like there was to be much mud - Dave
I need link to alibaba with this frame! Love it!
I'll see if I can find him on Insta and get back to you. - Dave
Awesome, at 06:00, what DRM-free song are you using? Thank you
you didn't check the Rondo Ruut from the Czech team !
Next time.
Rim brakes for win!!!
Hell yeah - dave
Anyone know what the Ali express frame is at 2.34..
Maybe contact the guys at Exept bikes in italy and ask them what he was on, as they usually sponsor him on road- Dave
Who was the rider? I thought he bought it himself not his team.. love the content Shoddy..

The guy said €180 not 160.

0:37 "No picture" Wtf more like "No fucking sense", they are doing that in front of everyone.
It's the UCI during their bike check. I'm expecting an angry letter. haha - dave
