I enjoyed Scott’s suggested accessories. It was helpful to learn about them and found Scott’s video was easy to understand and very believable and honest.
Glad it was helpful!
Could you maybe do a vid on bike maintenance for the nomad and other e bikes just showing the ins and outs and what you need to do to maintain the bike. Keep making vids they are absolutely amazing quality for a small channel like this love the vids!!!
That’s a good idea. So glad you are liking the videos. I will add that to the list!
Scott, many, many thanks for this video. I've ordered a Nomad already and I've been searching for the info you've provided. Great!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, thank you for sharing. My Christmas list is getting longer. Lots of good ideas.
It's about making these bikes more comfortable and giving you all the gadgets needed to keep us on these bikes longer. Woot!
Great video Scott! Very clear and useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Dude, l love your channel. Keep it up!
Thanks a ton! I appreciate the support!
Great video Scott... ordered almost all your stuff here.. bike arrives next week. Question, any hints on the handlebar extender and pivot parts?
Thanks for watching! When you first add the adjustable stem, go for a ride and take the tools to make adjustments on that first ride. You will need to play with the angle to get those handlebars to your comfort level.
Great video on the accessories available for the Nomad.
I'd like to see a quick attach/detach on the rack bag instead of having to undo and redo those velcro straps every time you want to take the bag off
They actually have them. I can’t remember the name of brand but it has an adapter that goes on your back rack (and even racks with it built in) plus bags that go with it. I don’t use my back bag enough for that setup. Happy hunting!
Scott, It’s the ‘Topeak QuickTrack’ System.
I recently purchased it, having also purchased the Velotric Nomad 1 after watching your very interesting videos.
Hi from Ireland ☘️
Hello Scott, I too have recently purchased the Velotric Nomad 1 e-bike. Living in Ohio, I have only taken it out a few times because of the weather here. My only problem with the bike was the front fork suspension which is being replaced by Velotric. I am still waiting for the fork assembly to be delivered and support has been very helpful. They asked for a short video and serial # of e-bike showing them the problem. Hopefully, they will be sent out as they had to be ordered from the factory. I have watched your videos as well as those on Velotric's website and have ordered some of the same items that you have suggested. Thanks for your videos and suggestions.
Thanks for watching! What was wrong with your front fork?
@@scotthardesty The bike was delivered and well packaged. The problem with the forks was the two adjustment knobs not working... lock/unlock & travel or the internal of the forks. Have not received the new fork assembly yet as it is in the process of being shipped from their factory. I am located in Brunswick, OH and the weather is not the best. I have taken the bike out three time on road or highway, looking forward to testing bike off road or on some trails or woods when I fix the suspension. Thank you.
@@scotthardesty and why any lock/unlock & travel adjustment knobs not working in the first place? Strange problem..
Hello sir, thank you for your detailed videos & effort! I'm considering getting an e-bike & doing some research for various fat-tire bikes. Currently considering either Aventon Aventure, Velotric Nomad 1, or the Aerial Rider Kepler.
Could you talk a bit about maintenance of both the Aventon & Velotric you have? Maybe even some tips in general to look out for. As I understand, Aventon can be bought from a dealer which means they can cover lots of maintenance under warranty, but not sure if that also applies to Velotric and I assume not at all for Aerial Rider. Maybe some general maintenance all new e-bikers should be aware of, that either they can perform themselves or get it done by some bike shop.
Thanks!
Currently Velotric is only purchased online. I also purchased my Aventure online but had it delivered to a Local Bike Shop for assembly. The thing about velotric that most people don't know. They are the same guys who make the "lime" bikes that people rent out. Because of this, they have to be built very well. Not to make things harder for you, Aventon just came out with the Aventure 2 (literally yesterday) so now you can add that to the mix. I find that most of these bikes are easily maintained, the thing I have to spend most attention to is making sure the battery is charged before going on a long ride.
You can't go wrong with any of the bikes. I do have a video where I do a head to head comparison with the Aventure and Nomad. That might help you narrow down your search. Either way, both bikes can be put together at home on your own. Don't worry about that at all.
I hope this helps. Let me know know which one you choose!
Excellent video, thank you! Just orderd the Mango Nomad 1 with an extra battery! I love the bag you have reviewed (RockBros Rear Rack Bag). Do you think the extra battery will fit in the bag?
Sorry, The battery will not fit in it... but the bags in this video will fit it. ruclips.net/video/OWDhNafwcHE/видео.html
Hey Scott, how / where did you re-mount the stock nomad intergrated headlight after swapping out the original riser w/ replacement riser? (original riser has the headlight mount / screw hole on it). Thanx for the great content!
I just moved to the right or left.
Hey Scott... question on the bag... how did you thread it and fasten it with the velcro with the back rack... LOL.. I don't think I am doing it corretly... excess strap
There is excess strap for sure. I tuck the excess under the bag to make it look pretty.
Hey man thanks to your videos I ended up going with the Nomad 1 and I could not be any more pleased with my purchase. It is everything I expected it to be and a big part of that comes directly from your content. Quick question, Have you ran into an issue with the accuracy of the speedometer and trip meter on the Nomad 1 display? I have noticed on mine when I compare it to the GPS on my phone it is a few mph off on the speed and the trip distance is a few miles off. The Nomad will indicate I am going 20mph when I am in fact only going 14-16. And I tracked my distance with my phone and the Nomad was saying I traveled nearly 3.5 miles further than I actually had. Its not that big of an issue I was just curious if you had ran into this issue and had a possible fix.
It's weird. When I first got mine I felt the same way. Even to the point where I contacted support and talked to them about it. We had to confirm that the bike was set for 26" wheels. I ended up doing a real test where I tracked the distance (didn't do speed) to see how far off the controller was from 2 other apps. My apple workout app set on "outdoor bike ride" and a second ride using my Strava app. It was a little off but not big enough for it making a real difference. Also, those were shorter trips (I think 3-4 miles was my total distance). I am sure it would be farther off if I did a long trip. I might have to do a test on that. Since companies have been sending me various bikes to review, I have noticed that they are all off in one way or another. So far, I have not invested the time needed to develop a fix. I appreciate your comment and time supporting my channel! I am glad my videos are useful to you.
@@scotthardesty honestly I would never have thought anything about it but I was comparing the distance and speed to my brothers Aventure and we noticed they were different. That's when we started keeping an eye on it and testing it with the GPS. To me it seemed like the Aventure was more accurate. That 3-4 mile difference I noticed was after a 25 mile trip by the way.
Thanks for the links. How much Flat Out for each tire on Nomad1 step through?
1/2 bottle per tire. I do that with all my fat tire bikes!

Scott, I bought the FOMTOR 31.8 Adjustable Stem. Like all (most?) adjustable stems, it requires a cap with the long bolt that secures the bearings (I guess). Unfortunately, the Nomad stem is totally integrated without a cap. How did you make this work? Or do I need to write Velotric? Thanks, Noel.
Oh sorry, I ordered the top piece separately to make mine work. This is what I got. amzn.to/3rBEmsy I believe I had to use one of the spacers as well.
@@scotthardesty Cheers, Scott, thanks for the reply. I've done exactly the same thing. Just waiting on a Nm torque wrench to do the job properly. Appreciate your videos.
Hey Scott, I ordered two Velotric bikes for myself and my wife. Hers is great! Mine, not so much. Fork is hanging out of the headset and it’s like the bearings they used are the wrong size and won’t allow the fork to seat fully. Has anyone contacted you with similar issues. Velotric is giving me resistance about returning the bike.
I have not had anyone with that issue reach out before. I hope you get it sorted out.
Have you figured out how to mount a water bottle holder???
I don't put them on my bikes, so I have not. So sorry.
approx. how much of the FlatOut are you putting in each tire? My coworker and I bought a Nomad 1 and he put the recommended 1/4 of a bottle in each tire and then tried to air it up. It blew the bead off of the rim.
I put 1/2 a bottle in each tire. I do that with all my 26"x4" tires and never had an issue.
@@scotthardesty are you inflating to 30psi as well?
@@Jappyrootz No. 20psi is my happy place.
@@Jappyrootz Nooooooo. I like mine at 20psi
@@scotthardesty one last question, what did you do with the factory light after installing the new adjustable stem? I just installed it but from what I can tell, the light mounts to the factory stem.
Where can you buy the flat out
Right here. Sportsman’s edition: amzn.to/3y2MlQ0
At 3:01 mark you have OTMOR adjustable stem, is that Fomtor stem?
@@lancebrown8823 In the description, i have a link that goes to the one I bought.
