So many memories! My aunt in heaven must be saying here, you finally get to ride the very front of the train for the whole route! Thanks for the ride and waiting for the R46 if they're still in service,
R.I.P to your lovely aunt. We hope that we made her proud and we are extremely honored that you can get the chance to get this experience. Thank you for sharing.
I find NYC subway sounds extremely relaxing and fun to listen to. Like how trains pass by above you or when the arrival clock ann plays in the distance. If it weren't for any video of yours, I wouldn't have grown to like trains more than I already do now. Thank you.
It is truly an honor to know that our videos can assist you with a deeper love and appreciation for the trains. Thank you for sharing and we look forward to sharing all that we have to offer, so you can continue enjoying the Subway sounds ☀️🏆🫡
As a child of the 1950s, I had the chance to ride on all of the classic rolling stock: R1 - R9, Standards, Type-D Triplex, R11, SIRT ME-1, R10 - R40/SLANT and Myrtle Ave “Q” cars. These videos bring back a lot me memories. Thank you!!
It is an honor that we are able to bring back such memories with our content. Thank you so much for sharing this with us and we hope we can continue to earn your support. Thank you
I live in Denver now. Since 1989. Lived in flushing. Use to ride the 7 train a lot . Rode the E and F. Different back then . I never rode the F since they built the new tunnel. And stops. E and F were express on the same tracks right into NYC then F turned on 6 Ave and the E turned on 8 Ave. E went all the way to Brooklyn and Rockaway. Before 9/11.
I'm speechless and either way would not even have the words to express how awesome this channel has become honestly. Thank you to welcome to an experience the MTA for all of what they do. This has been was the most anticipated line for me personally considering it features the world's tallest train station in the world Smith and Ninth Street. Really enjoyed the sounds of the r160 bustling through the tunnels and into the night sky. I'm very happy and satisfied for what I have waited to see for a long time and would love to see a follow-up if ever in the future and possible, maby a round-trip during the day that way people can see the skyline in the opposite direction.
We appreciate you so much and we are honored that we can give you such an amazing experience. Thank you so much and we cannot wait for you to see the day time experience in the opposite direction, from either the F or the G train, where you can clearly see the wonderful skyscrapers. It’s an honor and we truly appreciate your support 🫡💪🏻
If you freeze it at 1:16:22 and you look to your right you can see where the structure used to support the tracks were for the 9th Ave shuttle at one time that would terminate at Ditmas Ave...
Thank you. Wonderful ride. From the late '60s to the early '70s my father was a motorman on the F. I rode with him along with some firends after school on a few occasions. Of course then the F ran 9s, 38s, and 40s. Again thanks.
Wow. Firstly, shoutout and thank you to your father for his wonderful service to NYC. He deserves way more credit than what he has gotten over the years. It is an honor that we can bring you back to those memories on those classic trains, of when you rode with your dad. It is truly surreal and we are honored to bring you this experience. Thank you so much for sharing.
In my profession, I move around a bit. So time foe Family. But this Channel has given me. Something that I miss very much. From my childhood to present. I love looking out the front window. So I thank you so much for all these memories 💖

We send both you and your family nothing but positive blessings and we truly appreciate you for your lovely comment/support. Stay amazing; stay blessed.
At 29:09 I believe we have the stub ended cut out to the 2nd Avenue subway. Love the video and love the F train. Great memories...home station was 169 Street.
Thank you so much for sharing. We’re glad you like the video but now glad we’re able to bring you back the memories of your old station. Great observation seeing the 2nd Avenue cut out and we’re interested in seeing if it’ll ever be used

Not a NYC native but used to go into the city with my Dad in the 60s and 70s to watch the Yankees or the Mets, and sometimes to the Museum of Natural History to see the dinosaurs and the planetarium. We always rode the subway out from Penn Station and back. Been in San Diego for 30 years now, but was privileged to ride the subway again in 2015 with my then 6 year-old daughter, to see the Statue of Liberty and the Upper West side on the 1, C and E trains. The games and museum were all great, but the subway was always just as much of a thrill -- loved the sound of the trains approaching the platform with a low rumble, and then a sudden boom! as they came out of the tunnel. The one thing I never got to do was sit in the front and see all the stuff between stations. So these videos are a major treat! THANK YOU folks for giving me that experience. Tho it would still be great to actually ride up front one time with my kids!
It is truly our pleasure that our videos are able to bring back the memories you shared with your dad. Tho riding up front in actuality might not be possible, we are pleased to know this comes close enough. Thank again for sharing and we cannot wait to continue earning your support.
This brings back memories of my trips to Coney Island as a child. Used to always take the F train. I'm absolutely mezmerized by the sound of the R160 propulsion system. Sounds like a jet about to take off and it really does take off :)
Thanks for sharing. We’re glad we were able to bring back those childhood memories and as for the R160 train, it does have its own unique sound for sure.
Thank you so much for this video! I used to ride the F train every day. Briarwood was my stop. I live in NJ now and honestly want to move back. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing. It is a pleasure to assist with a video of a train you hold dearly, especially now that you live away. 🫡 NYC will always be here.
I appreciate/prefer when you include the transfer info. I'm following along with the detailed full track map so I can try to identify the many junctions, etc.
Am absolutely loving these, thank you for sharing!!! Can you please do the D from Stillwell to Norwood? This will bring back memories as it was this route that the B used to run (in Brooklyn) in '86
I remember when I was a kid my parents used to my sister and myself to Coney Island to see the fireworks. We would take the F train from ditmas ave to Stilwell ave . So many memories. Thanks
This is the train I take to work every day and have been taking it since I went to high school when I was 14. I am 46 now and still riding the good ol' F. I take it from Ave X into the city. What fascinates me is stuff like 29:08 where there is an abandoned tunnel. I guess there is where the famous "mole people" hang out. Also what's interesting ("frustrating" is a better word to use when I'm actually ON the train) is why the stoppage or slowing down at parts when it was clear there was nothing in front of this train? (I know traffic, other lines crossing, etc. cause it but not on this ride. It must have been a weekend or something because it wasn't very crowded and nothing was in front of this train). Anyway, these are really cool vids!
We appreciate you and we are happy that you get the chance to experience a train you’ve ridden for so long/to this day. The video was recorded during the week but we have to say, although we may not have seen any reason for the delays, the cbtc system is in charge of how fast the train is allowed to go. The train operator has to obey whatever the system is saying as the system is able to read the “traffic” way ahead of the operator’s line of sight and therefore, causing them to slow down for what appears to be for no reason.
It's not abandoned. It's the starter tunnel for the future connection to the 2nd Avenue Subway that will (some day, in the next foreseeable forever) get built south of 63 Street.
Thank you for this always wanted to see a view on the F as it was my train line growing up visiting my parents while working in Manhattan and was always curious how the line looks from a front view goes after Rockefeller Center to switch sides with the Express 6 ave line.
We are happy that you are able to get this experience that reminds you of when you were a kid. This is one of the reasons why we started this channel and we can’t wait for you to experience the 6 line.
That's what makes the NYC MTA so amazing. It happens all over the place. Did you see the approach to Coney Island @1:36:36? There is another line above the one from the video. Even when this F train arrives at Coney Island you can see another resting there at a slightly higher level. This also reminds me of when I first rode on the 1 Train way back in 1979 when I was a kid. I remember being underground, seeing a train next to me that all of a sudden started ascending.
This is the train I take to visit my uncle to/from Supthin Blvd. I really hope when they make this entire line as fully CBTC I do see at least more Diamond Line as an express train from 169th Street to/from 71st Street in Queens & Church Avenue to/from Coney Island in Brooklyn.
Thank you for sharing and we appreciate your suggestion. We too look forward to all the changes that will be made once the system is fully functional with the CBTC system. Shoutout to you and to your uncle 🫡🫡
The R160 Siemens F Train participates in this video. From what I heard, this set used to run on the N line until the Queens Boulevard Line was modernized with CBTC, resulting the F & N lines to swap their fleets.
We appreciate you and we hope that you can have an appreciation for the system and the employees that make the system as great as it is. We are in the process of bringing you this experience from Europe as well.
At 54:57 you could see the gate of where the Money train used to drop off the money under 370 Jay St. when it used to the MTA headquarters. 370 Jay St is now part of NYU. MTA is now at 19 Boerum Pl.
Originally, the Culver Line north of Ditmas Ave started from Ninth Ave, which is why the latter has an abandoned lower level, thus making it a former bi-level express station similar to 145th St where the A and C split from the D and B, respectively and vice versa. The section between Ninth and Ditmas was converted to a shuttle in the same manner as the 42nd St Shuttle, that being disconnecting a section of a main line and only running shuttles on it. This was done to connect the 4-track section from Church Ave to the 3-track section from Ditmas Ave. The former was run by the IND and the latter was run by the BMT. The shuttle was discontinued in 1975 and was later demolished due to low ridership, therefore making it impossible to travel between Ninth and Ditmas by train anymore. This is why the IND Culver Line used to be the BMT Culver Line as mentioned on Wikipedia (although it’s only for the 3-track section). As for the 2-track section from Neptune Ave to Coney Island, it was added to extend the line to the latter. However, it had to take over West 8th St’s lower level which was originally served by the Brighton Line’s local tracks whereas the upper level is served by what was originally just the Brighton Line’s express tracks. This is why the Brighton Line’s local and express tracks merge into each other after Ocean Pkwy and also why B express trains short-turn at Brighton Beach whereas Q local trains continue, since there isn’t enough room to turn around all B and Q trains combined on the same tracks and because Ocean Pkwy has no crossovers. This is an example of a railway line’s evolution also affecting other lines.
It was nice that you were able to catch a R160 Siemens train on the F line. The other R160s on the line usually have Alstom propulsions. But the Siemens propulsion (the one in this video) sounds a lot better and cooler.
❤❤ it looks like there is a another F train on a another track I ridden the f train several times man I wish I could ride a R179 C train I was really happy I went to the Freedom tower it was TALL 😮 😊 but Thanks for the video have a great summer vacation GoldenTicket420😊
Great audio and video! Hoping for some more at grade or elevated express runs. I don't want anybody getting in trouble, so I won't ask how you managed to mount the camera on the step at the end of the car. Cheers
We do not recall the car number of this train or any video that we have already recorded. We can only hope that one of our videos is with that car number. 🤞🏻
Perfect work on this video Welcome To An Experience! Can you try to do this video again but with the ASMR reading to indicate what the next stop is going to be?
I was outside of this station 27:25 yesterday with my best friends taking the Roosevelt island bus to a park then returned to go home and took the tram
F has been my one seat ride to Manhattan during my high school years. My favorite subway line! Wish the MTA makes a full express service for both Queens (21st Queensbridge to Jamaica-179th St) and Brooklyn (Jay St-Metrotech to Church Ave) one day.
Your recommendation is quite interesting and we shall see what the system has in store for the future. Glad you were able to experience a train from your HS times 🫡
It is amazing how long these train rides are. I am in Albany and Amtrak to Penn is 2:20  The are trying to get that time down. W8th was my old stop
How does one apply to be a train operator and is there an age limit? These videos are amazing. You’re good at what you do. This is my line from Kew Gardens to Lexington 63rd st where I transfer to the Q uptown one stop. Nice view
We appreciate you so much. As for applying for a career opportunity with NYCT, keep an eye out for the “open competitive” test that they release, where you can apply and take the test. (HS Diploma needed). After you score high on your exam, they will get in contact with you as soon as they are ready for your exam list. We hope this helps and we are sure it would be an honor for MTA to be blessed with your presence as a T/O
Sometime in my college experience, I asked my classmates "when will I marry"? And they answered - take the F train to the last stop, and look on what's written on the wall. The first thing which came to my mind is 179 - if it's date it can be read as January 7, 2009 - but no it's not the day of my marriage. The first stop in Queens (if you travel toward Jamaica) rather can be deciphered as "the day I've met my girlfriend" but without mentioning the year. Note - this prophetic conversation took place before 2000, and F train went through 53rd street tunnel; the guy who told that - could be from Queens, so for him - the last stop in Queens could be one 23rd Court Square.
3:39 you can see a rat climb down from the platform and cross the tracks. LOL. I love the view from the front and all the noise of the train. Thank you so much for posting!
23:55 I see that the engineers had to underpin the original IND vertical beams with concrete on steel beams underneath to make the F train drop here, where there used to be a level track before. They must have put up temporary supports next to the originals while they dug underneath them ? Anyhow, they did a magnificent job ! They didn't have to move the beam's original locations. Aarre Peltomaa p.s. If there are any civil engineers in the audience, would you say hello ?? I am not a civil engineer, but I do have a mindset of one.
Thank you so much for sharing but more importantly, thank you for giving credit to where it is due; the engineers behind these tunnels. We will always be thankful to them for the work that they continue to do and send them positive blessings that they continue to receive the credit they deserve. It is amazing that you have such a mindset; you just lack the title and the schooling but we are sure with that mindset, given the opportunity to, you would excel so thank you for that.
We want to start by saying, “Thank you,” for your service to the NYCT but more importantly, to NYC as without folks like yourself, NYC would not be the city that it is. We appreciate you for your service to this amazing city and we are honored that you gave your time to serving the people. Thank you
Both the 4 and the 3 stop there. Utica is the 4’s last stop on weekdays while the 3 continues past Utica and into the heart of the Brownsville and East New York neighborhoods. We are excited for you to see both of those lines on this channel and ask that you kindly subscribe/turn on notifications so you won’t miss when we release them.
At Lex and 63rd, the reason the F train comes in on the left track is because the southbound Q train stops on the right side. Trains running towards Queens or upper 2nd Ave. are on another level. And Yes - there are crossovers between the two lines here. Someday a northbound Q train could run to Queens, or an F train could go up 2nd Ave.
@@ECO473That would be good, except Nebby, Rachel (just one for AM rush), and Wendy got to 96th/2nd Avenue to offset capacity issues at Ditmars Boulevard, which is a double tracked island platform.
@@kitsunefaye1661 That's a fair point. That said, is there enough of a turnaround capacity to have at least one line terminate at 57th Street/7th Avenue?
@@ECO473 Unfortunately, no. There’s too much train traffic for a proper short turn at that station. Suzy Q uses the express tracks full time except late nights.
Really cool. I used to live in 4 locations on this route after 1st half of video. Hehehe. I wish the video was leveled tho. Anyways, I know it took a lot to do this video. Thanks 👀😋👍
Can't see this anymore since they updated the rail cars. Miss those days of viewing through the front exit door glass window next to the driver's door .
This is one of the reasons we started this channel; to bring back our childhood memories. We’re just blessed to have members of the team that figured out how to make it possible. Hope you like it
Great question. The blinking green is a part of the new CBTC signaling system. Blinking green allows the train operator to know the system is working as designed, following the on screen instructions on their operating screens, for their route and the situation you mentioned. One of the advantages of this system is to allow trains to operate closer to each other, preventing lesser wait times for trains.
And thats trippy, signals at tje switch that used to be green-green for a straight switch are just flashing green.. woo lol my Arco study books are waaay out of date
So many memories! My aunt in heaven must be saying here, you finally get to ride the very front of the train for the whole route! Thanks for the ride and waiting for the R46 if they're still in service,

I am so sorry about your aunt she is in a better place then this cruel world... 💓💕💖😭😭😭
Due to CBTC, no SMEE can run on Fleeting (F) or lying Diamonds. QBL is exclusively CBTC based.
@@kitsunefaye1661 I don't even think we need CBTC.

I live in Europe. I enjoy watching your trips :)

Great video, thank you for uploading and creating.
We appreciate you.
Awesome video! My station is Roosevelt island lived there for 2 years and my stop used to be Jackson heights
Thank you so much. Thanks for sharing and we’re glad you got to experience your home station
The Coney Island bound platform at Ditmas AVE.. At one time was an island platform for entry onto the 9th AVE. bound shuttle train..
Thank you so much for sharing that history. This information is great for all of us to know and understand how far the system has come
Originally, the Culver Line north of Ditmas Ave started from Ninth Ave, which is why the latter has an abandoned lower level, thus making it a former bi-level express station similar to 145th St where the A and C split from the D and B, respectively and vice versa.
Yes indeed. We appreciate you for noticing and glad you like it
Almost like the singing trains in Tokyo 😊
This is one of the lines in the system. Eye ride it frequently.👌
This is one of the best lines in the system.Especially 4 it’s express runs.👌
How’d you like seeing it from this angle?
@@wtaenyc The view was amazing!!!!
❤❤ it looks like there is a another F train on a another track
I ridden the f train several times man I wish I could ride a R179 C train
I was really happy I went to the

Thanks for the video have a great summer vacation GoldenTicket420😊
And thank you for your support. Shoutout to you and GT420 🫡
Great audio and video! Hoping for some more at grade or elevated express runs. I don't want anybody getting in trouble, so I won't ask how you managed to mount the camera on the step at the end of the car. Cheers
We appreciate your support and we hope we are able to give you the experience you’re waiting for. Thank you 🙏🏼
What was the car number and if ever u rec a train that runs on Siemens can u do car 8903 bc they loud those propulsions
We do not recall the car number of this train or any video that we have already recorded. We can only hope that one of our videos is with that car number. 🤞🏻
You can even see the E train on your left in 0.3 miles 10:48
Memories of riding the F train in the 90's.
It’s an honor to bring those back.
That was fantastic brings back memories
Thank you so much. We are happy we are able to bring you back.
I find that the R160s are so loud, and that the R160Bs are much more calming
Great observation. Definitely more calming for sure!!
Breaking sounds very musical. I've started to mention such musical sounds starting with R142s
Thanks for sharing. The R142 is a classic
Perfect work on this video Welcome To An Experience! Can you try to do this video again but with the ASMR reading to indicate what the next stop is going to be?
I was outside of this station 27:25 yesterday with my best friends taking the Roosevelt island bus to a park then returned to go home and took the tram
Hope the experience was worth it 🫡🫶
F has been my one seat ride to Manhattan during my high school years.
Great work on this video Welcome To An Experience! Can you try to do this video again but in the daytime?
It is amazing how long these train rides are. I am in Albany and Amtrak to Penn is 2:20  The are trying to get that time down. W8th was my old stop
We can only hope they are able to safely get the commute time down.
@@wtaenyc They tried, around 2002. if you don't know already look up "Turboliners." They wanted to make it a commuter route.
43:01 the the interlocking track on the right is for E and C local service heading to the Spring Street station.
Great observation. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I just realized that this feel like a movie 🤣😅🤣😆😆😅🤣😅🤣🤣
@@wtaenyc thank you for your replying. Also, you’re videos are an absolute great experience to watch

Elevated at night! Awesome!

What a memorable moment. Things have definitely changed and the stops are no longer the same as they were years ago.
I MUST MENTION THAT THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO
We appreciate you and your support. Thank you
Yes! Another R160 Siemens set participates on this channel!
30:03 Escalator noises

How odd, that curve is usually very noisy. But I hear nothing! 😮 Must be good flange greasers on the rail now.
Great observation. Safe to say that the transit system is doing an amazing job with updating their system.

This gives me memories of wanting the R160 back on the N and Q line😢
We too will manifest it.
At one point when the R46's & R68's retire, R160's may return to the N, Q, & W lines.

3:39 you can see a rat climb down from the platform and cross the tracks. LOL. I love the view from the front and all the noise of the train. Thank you so much for posting!
It’s a pleasure. How would you suppose we get these rats out of our system?
You don’t. Rats are too smart. They will always find a way.
Aarre Peltomaa
Hello
I enjoyed being on the J line when I was growing up in NYC.
Thank you for sharing. We can’t wait for you to experience it. It’s a crazy video
I took the F train home in high school from 7th avenue to coney island. Now I live upstate
thank you so much for sharing that memory. We hope you enjoyed being able to experience that journey from this video.
loved operating in the B division as a motorman
We want to start by saying, “Thank you,” for your service to the NYCT but more importantly, to NYC as without folks like yourself, NYC would not be the city that it is. We appreciate you for your service to this amazing city and we are honored that you gave your time to serving the people. Thank you
I will tell you about my old home station Utica Ave on the IRT. Please let me know when you have the video I believe it's the 3 or 4 train.
Nice! I like my experience between Roosevelt and Delancey Streets

25:25-This station (21st Queensboro) looks a lot like St. Clair West Station here in Toronto and also like a few subway stations in Montreal.

Yes, it's almost a twin station to St. Clair West in Toronto. I'm originally from Toronto, now living in Brooklyn.
My favourite sounded after airplane engines! Third favourite sound; the sounds of the big Apple!
We are happy that we can give you that experience.
You can tell the mta has limited train yards with the amount of trains on the Express tracks over night
Good point/observation. We are happy that they have somewhere to place them even with their limited yard space.
Thank you so much for sharing this knowledgeable information with everyone. It’s quite amazing how both trains can switch that easily.
The thing the MTA should do is send the M to 96th permanently and send the G back to Forest Hills.
Coney Island/Stillwell Avenue, home sweet home

Are New York City Subway trains manually operated, ATC or CBTC? I'm from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Great question. Atm, the subway system has both manually operated trains and ATC as it slowly continues to implement more of the CBTC system. 🏆
Great job guys and gals one request can you please get the other lines in the system on ?

What is the advantage of blinking green lights? And lights won't indicate in yellow anymore when the next switch will change a train's track???
Great question. The blinking green is a part of the new CBTC signaling system. Blinking green allows the train operator to know the system is working as designed, following the on screen instructions on their operating screens, for their route and the situation you mentioned. One of the advantages of this system is to allow trains to operate closer to each other, preventing lesser wait times for trains.
Awesome...is anything holding the camera down?
Thank you. The device that we used is sturdy enough to keep the camera 📱 secure enough to record this experience.
I have a question, is Kew Gardens Union Turnpike ( my home sta) one of the most used stations in queens?
Makes sense being that it connects to JFK and Laguardia
We believe it is in fact one of the most used stations. Statistics will be only thing to say otherwise
And thats trippy, signals at tje switch that used to be green-green for a straight switch are just flashing green.. woo lol my Arco study books are waaay out of date
This is because of the new signaling system called CBTC
Love the view
