F Chord Tips, The Art of The "Thumb Over" Barre (Mandolin Technique)

Many students have questions about barre chords, and the so called "thumb over" F. The full barre, and the "thumb over" are both valid ways to fret a movable chord shape generally referred to as the "F Shape".
