I was a Toro guy as well. It was the first mower I bought when I got my new house. But I got sick of changing oil and putting in gas that I decided to go battery and never looked back. You won't believe how incredibly quiet they are compared to gas mowers, and of course, maintenance free, no oil changes. I can fully recommend GreenWorks Twinforce G-Max 40V 20 inch battery model. I got the one with two batteries and it goes on sale quite frequently on amazon. I got that one for $288 back in the day. All I can say is, if you get a good one, once you go battery, you'll never touch a gas mower again :) And that one never broke down on me or had any issues all the years I owned it.
Now, I did end up selling it years later. Why? Because I decided to get rid of my lawn altogether and put in rock :) Expensive, sure, but as I get older I find I don't have the energy I used to and yard work was never something I liked to do. I do still have to spray for weeds, they even grow on the rock.
Whatever you decide, I know it will be the right decision for you, but I thought I'd share my experience :)

I have the greenworks 40v 19" mower from like 11 years ago. It's nice that it's so quiet, not ever having to go buy gas, and hanging it up on the wall when I'm done. I think I'll get a roomba mower next time though.

Honda is a good vehicle brand. Toro, really fun sitting mowers in the smaller scale as they can turn on a dime.

Thanks for your videos!! I feel ike I go through the same thinking everytime I am in the market for retro gaming or any large purchases.. You calm demeanor helps relax me when I am anxious as well.... With that said.. I have a greenworks with the 2 batteries and like others have stated I would not go back to gas.

@PDX7 The batteries are expensive, but I get them on eBay. All their batteries are interchangeable with all their products, no matter what size.👍 I have there weed wacker and blower. Love it! Once my gas mower dies, I'm buying Ego Electric mower. Since you live up north, they also make a snow blower that uses the same batteries. Watch videos on RUclips You'll Be Amazed!👍

Yeah I would for sure agree that the battery op mower look like Fisher Price toys. lol I mean if they want us to be interested in those they need to make them more durable and also with hard rubber tires. Been binging since last night catching up on your videos. Been hectic and crazy lately. I've had my car (Grand Prix GTP) for over 2 weeks now and she's running great still!

I've tried two different electric mowers and just couldn't do it. I have a big backyard and they just weren't powerful enough and/or would die before I finished. If I had a tiny yard, it would work but if you let the grass go for a bit or it's wet, it's a miserable experience. I just don't think the tech is quite there yet personally. There are some now that are even more powerful than gas ones but the battery life is short and the price is of course way more than the gas. Edit: I have a Honda currently and I can highly recommend them. They use their own motor which is really efficient and powerful. The Toro and most other mowers tend to use 3rd party motors.
If you needed one today would you get the Honda 549 knowing this is it in the US after they sell out or get a Toro
@@PDX7 I'd probably still go Honda. I replaced my Toro with Honda and it was noticeably better. It should hopefully last you long enough where when it's time for the next mower, electric is on par with gas. I still think they have a ways to go. Absolutely nothing wrong with going with Toro either.

Im not a fan of the electrics, what gas mower do you have most are repairable. My gf has a small ryobi thats been ok, my step dads Makita kept breaking and they finally sent me a new one, my honda engine mowers have been very good with regular oil, filter and spark plug servicing. Husqvarna is worth a look too.The KI Pro thing, I dunno, is there a deal on it?

Good luck on your decision. Until I developed heart failure, and could no longer mow, I had two Worx mowers. One was a tiny one, that was practically a toy, but it did my entire back yard on a charge, and was very quiet, and light weight. Sadly, it died about 5 years later, and I couldn't find it anywhere. Got a bigger Worx mower, which breaks down to store in a closet, but being all metal, and having a huge battery, it weighed too much for me to heft up hills, or up stairs. Had to let it go, and hire mow crews. It was a great mower. Did the entire yard, front and back, with some charge left over. I think I kept the battery, though. Not sure if I heard right, but I thought KI Pro had the dreaded TN monitor. Hopefully not. Thanks for the video. :)
Hi Thomas, Thank you I’ll look into Worx I know they are at Menards by me. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had heart troubles that’s too bad it now limits you. What does a yard usually run to cut? The KI Pro has a boe :) only Shaq and GT XL’s have the TN.
@@PDX7 Ah, ok. Good to know. I use Lawnstarter, and their basic lawn mow only service runs around 50 or 60 dollars. The do offer additional services, like chemical care, and hedge trimming. You can even pause service, or go with less frequent mows, depending on season. :)
