      @Mia Margin def one of the most unhealthy nuts. I like them but bc of how crappy they are for the body, I stay away. Also maple syrup is very high in sugar. Stevia or monkfruit are the best options, but unfortunately kinda taste like crap. So really is no real way to eat sweets without penalty. And I don't even mean weight wise, but health wise. Definite difference.

    • @stevenalexander4721
      @stevenalexander4721 4 года назад +4

      I actually love chia seeds because like most nuts and seeds, they can act as a filler thus helping you to eat less. Also like with many different foods, chia seeds should be not be over consumed by people taking medication for blood sugar and blood pressure. For people with such conditions, you can actually buy a vegan egg substitute that is a power that is just mixed with water.

    Made these today.. so good! Subbed coconut flour with almond flour, peanut butter instead of cashew butter (looked super runny so just added more peanut butter without the oil from the jar), used an organic grass fed egg instead of the chia egg, didn't have an 8x8 pan so used a smaller round dish (looked raw still after 30 min so turned off oven and let sit til it looked "dry" on top), vanilla bean instead of the extract (to avoid alcohol in extracts), alot of Hu chocolate chunks, and although I think it was well past 10 minutes.. it was still warm when I ate it.. delish. Hope this helps! Not a baker and it was super easy to make. Thanks for the recipe!

      Don't forget when baking, times and temperatures can change due to your location. Take for example when you are baking, and it's raining, the air has extra moisture in it and can make your baked goods more gooey and for this reason, you have to use less of your wet ingredients. It's the exact opposite for extremely dry environments, in which you may need to increase your wet ingredients so your baked goods are not dried out and too hard. And then there is the other reason, your oven is not the same as what she used.

    As a lifetime radio and TV broadcaster I see a star in the making. Not only are you articulate and present extremely well, you have star looks! I'm also impressed by your production qualities, close-ups, etc. My biggest complaint on cooking videos is how many of them draw out every step. You have professional timing, realize what's truly important, and move on, all while flashing a beautiful smile with expressions to match your enthusiasm. You most certainly deserve to be featured on national television! LMK what you think of my comments. BTW, the bars are in my oven right now as I write this. Can't wait.

    I am a culinary arts teacher and I made these for my teenage students. They LOVED them, and so did I! I followed your recipe exactly except for the time. I baked mine for 22 minutes only. This gave them a lovely fudgy texture you would expect from a fancy brownie. Pro tip: always underbake bar cookies to get that fudgy texture. You can always put them back in the oven if they are truly underbaked. Also, everybody's oven is different; underbaking assures that you won't overbake them through no fault of your own. Oh, and please write a cookbook, Dani!

They turned out good using an extra tablespoon of coconut flour. I wonder if my batch was not like cookie batter because my cashew butter had safflower oil (cashews, safflower oil). Hi Dani, any chance you could add the macros for me here minus the choc chips and maple syrup please? This looks like an easy conversion to a Keto recipe by using sugar free maple flavoured syrup and sugar free choc chips but not sure if the macros will allow it... Thanks, Vanessa.

      Alaa Shnewer hey just to make it clear you used peanut butter instead of cashew butter, and it worked? I‘d love to know bc cashew butter is hard to come by where I live😊 xx

    These are so super yummy looking! Can't wait to try this recipe. I could do without the vegan, paleo, grain-free, etc, but I love how you show us how to be creative and healthy and still eat well with whatever dietary restriction. Any idea how these do in the freezer?

    Thank you, thank you, thank you for making a recipe that I can easily make nut free!!!!!! Food allergies and paleo are not easy!

    We need to make it sugar free because my SO is a Diabetic. Finding sugar free chocolate isn’t difficult, but always be sure to check which sugar alcohol they use, some do have a glycemic index! We can also use nut butters without added sugar. However maple syrup is a definite No-Go. We looked into agave nectar instead, (based on some information I found, which turned out to be false), the glycemic index is still too high.
    My SO has suggested making a simple syrup with Monk Fruit Sweetener. Zero Carbs! We shall let you know how experiments go 😃.
    Oh, and “Powdered” Almond or Peanut Butters have 90% Less Fat!

    Omg I tried them and they are SUPER DELICIOUS!! Although I did feel guilty when I ate a piece because PB is very high in calories (I used all natural PB) instead of cashew butter. I used all natural honey instead of maple syrup which is high in carbs and sugar. Can you please share the macros ?? Thanks!
