Needs a rotary volume control on the top and a BT stubby antenna to help the range... Anytone also need to release a proper BT remote head with decent sized screen and handheld mic.
I use the 578 at home and not in my vehicle. I would use the BT-01 instead of the corded microphone that comes with the radio. Half the time I have the corded microphone disconnected from the radio because it gets in the way in my small shack. Thanks for the video.
I also have the 578 as a base (2 mobile units as well). I use it in my truck for the same reason as you. No space for that pesky cord. I travel with a Bear Tracker CB\Scanner and an HT on GMRS channel 19. The mobile rig is on SARnet and Five2. www.SARnetFL.com
Download the updates for the radio firmware and get it ready. You have to do two updates to the firmware but the directions are easy to follow. The audio is really good. I have a 578 pro in my work truck. I hope I can pair this mic to it. 73
I hope you ask the shop before you brought the BT-01 for the 878. Initial reports earlier in the year were saying it wasn't made to work with the 878's, only the 578. So I hope you prove me wrong and it does work with your 878 . . . that would be a huge PLUS for the 878.
Been waiting since May for my 578 to come back from AnyTone following a Warranty Claim, so hopefully this means AnyTone are moving stock again.. Looking forward to getting a 578 back into my truck, have missed it, and keen to see and make use of the Bluetooth Mic as a Remote Control Mic 🎤 Would prefer a vehicle type Mic holder on the back as you stated rather then the belt clip, might be a Mod in the pipe line LOL . . . Ever way, Can't wait to see them both.
Anytone advertised 50 feet away and you only say 10 feet...and that's probably directly in front of the radio. From one room to another or from one floor to another of a house is it impossible?
I tried it from my shop which is an all metal building, doors were open, radio is 10 feet from the door. I walked out of the shop and 10 feet to the left. The BT01 disconnected. I have a radio in my 2012 Chevrolet 2500 that is parked in front of the house. This puts the separation from the 578 Plus and the BT01 at roughly 20 feet from my easy chair. It cannot make that distance either. The BT signal does need to make it out of the truck (in which my Anker Roav does just fine) and through my bay window which is primarily glass. And a single pane at that. BUT!! When it's in the vehicle it does sound wonderful. I was at out at the range yesterday and I was able to have the BT01 on the tailgate and it worked great.
@@Rusted_Link We are therefore far from the 40m of the specifications or the 50 foot that had been announced. I wanted one to put on the upper floor that I could use around the house but I think it will be difficult to use it even if the house is not made of metal... Too bad! Thank you for your response and for sharing your experience! 73!
Great video. One question, How do you set the Bt01 up to display channel name rather than frequency?
On the BT01 press Menu/Settings/Radio Set/Display Func/Ch.Name/ choose 1 or CH
And oh look I'm 27 away from being able to monetize. Click subscribe for me.

Agreed 👍
Thanks for the video does your bt01 randomly loose connection? Mine will every now and then using Bluetooth or cable
Seems pretty solid on Bluetooth as long as I'm no more than 15 feet away and within site.
I have not used the cable.
Thanks for the video, very helpful…

I'm going to make a mic holder for mine. You'll love the BT Mic though.
@@Rusted_Link Post a short video of your Mic Hanger Mod when you've done it Scott, I'm going to need some ideas while I wait lol .
@@grant209 will do, gettin' busy though this time of the year. Merry Christmas!! I'll get it done soon enough though.
@@grant209 look how easy this was...
