You have top quality players, great as individuals but maybe not yet as a team. I am never confident when we come to Old Trafford. You usually get the better of us at your place. Not today though. I think Lamela should have been red-carded as well as he started the fight and simulated a bad injury. Just give at least one of them some game time to prove themselves and develop, both of them seem to have a lot of talent and there is no point in keeping both of them in the first team if they don't get the chance to play and gain some experience at the highest level. @@alibobsmarland9572 I see where you are coming from and we definitely have a big problem because none of our center backs is playing consistently on a good level, so that's a difficult question to answer. I think the whole team has to step up and start taking responsibility, specially the more experienced players and everyone has to do their defensive work, not only the defenders. As a center back you are of course exposed more easily and that's probably also why you say it is unfair to throw the youngsters in there and it's true but I feel like after the performances of Lindelof and Maguire they deserve a chance and to be honest I think they can not do much worse than we did against Brighton in the league and against Tottenham. They will need the support of the whole team and specially of the experienced players like Matic and who ever you want to partner with them as CB to take the pressure from them but maybe that's exactly what the team needs now. Because right now I feel like a lot of our players are just looking at each other and waiting for the others to take action and do something and if Ole puts a young lad back there it will maybe also force everyone else around him to take action and show more responsibility plus Mengi or Tuanzebe will be really motivated to deliver. It is always a risk to put a young player into cold water but I'd say it is worth trying.

I've been saying our poor defensive performances are NOT ON Lindelof for 8 months now. So nice to have INDISPUTABLE evidence of that fact.
The coaching is shocking, so the players will only get worse. Players like AWB, Maguire and Lindelof will only get worse without the right coaching and we have Carrick and a former Cardiff coach as United coaches. Even if you buy the best players these coaches will destroy them. Look at what they are doing to Bruno.
The whole structure is rotten and stinks to high heaven from the owners, to the board, to the manager to the coaches. We have Kieran McKenna, Carrick and Dempsey as first team coaches. Go figure...

Here’s my final verdict- ole did well to get us 3rd last season but most of the football was very lack luster on the break until Bruno came in. I don’t want to see another manager sacked before the board and glazers go but I’ve got to be honest the decisions he made today was a shambles. Not bringing on vdb over mctominay, taking Bruno off, leaving maguire on after the first goal, leaving pogba on, list goes on. I don’t see enough of him, and forget tactics, to give me confidence going forward. He needs to go- HOWEVER I’m not diluting the argument that the board and glazers need to go bc it’s a shambles how we’re most likely going to be on our 5th manager in 8 years. Disgusting how the club is run, and no I don’t think any manager will succeed under this board. But ole is not the man even IF he gets the players and today proved that as he had no ambition to do any fucking thing after the red card.

Tottenham during the poch era was never backed financially yet they were still a better side than us. We consistently get backed every year compared to other sides and we still flop. Kimmich is a great player but I don't think he has the pace to play in the EPL. Part of the problem with Matic is that he is too slow and doesn't have the physicality or bite to boss a midfield from CDM. Opposition midfielders just run straight past him. The same will happen with Kimmich. He is slow and remember Kimmich plays for Bayern in a slower league that only has Borussia in it. The EPL is a whole different kettle of fish.

FYI: Mourinho was pleading for United to sign Perisic for two seasons straight. But United said that Perisic was too old, and weren't willing to cough up the extra $5m to seal the deal with Inter during negotiations. I love the result to night because it has exposed the problems and skeletons in Manchester United, there is a problem of management, the way the Glaziers , and Edward woodward are managing the club is very poor. Ole May not be an experienced coach and he has made some errors like buying Maguire and making him the captain in first place because he is English. Bruno Fernandez should be given the position of captain . The board should give the players that OLe demanded .If the board had given Ole the players he wants and he does not perform well then the can sack him. For me the problem of Manchester United is not sacking the coach. The board need to sit up. They are not serious.

The biggest problem at United is leadership. Top to bottom there is no leadership. Ole wasn't a captain and now isn't a manager. He was great at coming on in the second half. I'm sure he would be a great assistant manager. His not the main man of any club.
