This was the saddest story ever featured on dr phil, and that boy's father is the most evil person that's been on that stage.
Dr phil has a way with words and he couldn't have said it better. I hope that woman heals
I thought too, that the father was evil. Scott Peck, a Christian psychiatrist (who does an amazing job of blending science and faith), wrote a book called "People of the Lie" that discusses the presence of evil in people around us. One of his case studies in the book was about a family whose eldest son had completed suicide with his rifle. They implicitly communicated to the younger son that the older boy was their favoured son, and that if one of their children had to die, they wished it was the younger boy. The next Christmas, for a gift, they gave their surviving son the rifle that his older brother had used to kill himself. Now that is just evil; there's no psychopathy in existence that would account for that type of behaviour. Luckily, Peck also wrote a book that is so uplifting that changed my life profoundly when I read it early in my twenties called "the Road Less Traveled". If you can find it, the book is amazing and moving and all that good stuff.

Omg yes. Dr Phil's story of the little boy in Heaven made me bawl. The compliments he gave her, and just this whole clip were simply everything this poor woman needed to hear. Bless this woman, her remaining son, and Dr Phil and his family as well....
if there's a higher power i really hope they send this woman some serious blessings. i can't even imagine everything she's been through... she's strong to even still be here today, and i wish her nothing but the absolute best for the future. she deserves to recover from the trauma of her son's passing, and she deserves to feel appreciated instead of put down.

I agree 100% she deserves to be treated better that has been blames her for everything but how was she didn’t know that her son would go in the wall and grab the gun that was in the wall behind a piece of furniture where most people wouldn’t think that someone could find it that didn’t know about it before hand so obviously he had an idea of it being there because he probably saw someone putting it there so therefore he was intending to end his own life and they can’t just blame it on her. Situation is like this are always messy though because yes the person intends to take their life but I don’t think they realize how selfish they can be in that moment and how they hurt others around them she is proof grieving all these years because of it. The husband also needs to work his issues out as well and so does the brother I think because it seems like the brother has quite a bit of trauma from this as well but if the husband could also work out his trauma over this than his life would probably be better too instead of just blaming her for everything because she happened to be home that day
My heart hurts for this mother. No parent should have to bury their child. I can’t believe someone would tell her she wanted her son dead. That person needs a serious wake up call. I’m putting it kindly by saying it this way. I wish I could give this grieving mother a hug.

I'm sure the mother was spewing venom 24/7 for the last 4 years at the boys about it all. She has let this consume her. And the cheating couple probably aren't still together.
I can't believe anyone would say that she wanted her son dead, but it was his father that said that and I've never seen a more vile evil disgusting person on this show than her ex husband. I'm like, in absolute shock right now. I really really hope the mom and the brother heal from this I really hope they have ❤🙏

I cannot even fathom the vileness in this mans soul to not only deny that he inflicted so much pain on his departed son and the rest of the family, but to continue with telling her she was the cause of the boys death....Disgusting. I am so glad Dr. Phil will help them and that the words he spoke help them on their path of healing.
Joseph was so strong to come out and confront his father. He cried so much when Dr. Phil spoke of Peter looking down from heaven and only seeing pain. I hope they remember all the good and look forward to being with him again . That's what I do since I lost by brother in 2017. Jesus Christ words of life help me every day to stay sane knowing we are energy and aren't actually gone. We convert into something else and will meet again.

Man dr phil, I dont care what anyone says, he's a great person that actually cares about his guest. The whole point of his tv show is to help people.
When Joseph looks at his father his hatred and loathing for that man is palpable.......not surprising and not unwarranted, what a vile, vindictive man he is. Joseph please don't let that poor excuse for a man rent space in your head or your heart, he's not worthy of even an ounce of your energy. I hope peace will find you and your mother one day.
People say what they want about Dr Phil but this man is a legend. A smart caring human being that can basically fix anyone and anything to make feel better and help them. It’s all he’s ever wanted to do was help.

Dr Phil is a good man and he does a wonderful job with helping grieving parents, but that ex husband is a horrible man who all he wanted to do was throw all of the blame for HIS wrongs on his ex-wife who you can tell was trying to do what was best for her sons

Dr. Phil did this for them and not the audience and that is commendable to me. HOWEVER, I'm getting manipulative vibes from her but that doesn't mean she isn't hurting.
I think it’s just the anger you may be seeing come out. Which is understandable. I really do think that everything she shows, is what it is and real. I mean I don’t think she is manipulating but instead she’s just very emotional and showing all of it. I don’t know 🤷♀️ maybe
