    I love love love green bananas, and I am always craving for them, no matter how they are prepared. Therefore, I try to prepare green bananas different ways; for example adding to salads, stewing, baking, boiling, grilling etc. This recipe is a combination of a few things you might have in your pantry. I actually had a few boiled bananas that were left over from a previous recipe, so I sliced them up and prepared this delicious stew. Hope you will enjoy. When peeling the bananas, do wear gloves or coat your hands with cooking oil to prevent the sap from staining and sticking to your hands.
    Ingredients:
    5 grains of banana
    1 onion sliced
    1 shallot sliced
    Half bell pepper, sliced
    2 garlic cloves minced
    2 tomatoes diced
    1 teaspoon soy sauce
    Bolognese sauce with chunks of meat of your choice
    Pinch of salt for stew
    1/2 tablespoon salt added to water for boiling green bananas
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon cumin
    1/4 teaspoon thyme
    1/4 teaspoon turmeric
    1/4 teaspoon oregano
    1/2 beef bouillon (optional)
    2 tablespoons olive oil or coconut oil
    1/4 teaspoon ginger or a small fresh piece chopped finely
    6 cups of water
    Instructions:
    Wash and peel green bananas.
    Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium sauce pot. Add a large pinch of salt. Add the peeled and green bananas and boil for 15 minutes(So they are not fully cooked)
    Drain the cooked bananas and allow them to cool, then slice them into 1/2 inch thick rounds.
    In a saucepan/skillet, saute onions and garlic with cumin in cooking olive oil until onions begin to soften and become fragrant.
    Add bell peppers, ginger, and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
    Add salt, soy sauce, tomatoes, bolognese sauce, 1/2 beef bouillon if used, other spices, 1/4 cup water, and stir. Cover and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
    Uncover pot and add sliced bananas, a little water depending on consistency you like. Taste for salt and pepper and adjust. Cover pot and allow to simmer for 15 minutes.
    Serve with rice, vegetables, pasta or as you desire.
