This song is an excellent example of a beguilingly simple song very artfully performed. It's extremely catchy the way only the very best four-chord songs can be. A real achievement.
This is ORIGINAL music and that's all that's all that matters. These guys set themselves apart. Lowery has one of those distinctive voices that makes all his music timeless !!
Everyone thinks 2020 was horrible, listening to this made me realize that musically, the past 20 years give or take has been a romp in the toilet. I'm 60 years old, I smoke weed everyday and I just tested positive for covid-19. Be good to one another. Peace
so many classic lines in this tune---too many to mention them all. Can't explain why this song makes me smile---even though its called "low" "hey---hey---hey"...... thanks for sharing this video !!!
I know why l missed it when it was released. I was in the Army serving overseas. Now l have found it, l play it loud to drive the anger and the anguish out.
@fossilbox1991 No so - can't you hear the sorrow and desperation as well as the feeling of being high? This is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard and it couldn't have been created without the heroin, as tragic as that is. Lucky for me I've never been called by the poppy but I imagine the feeling I get when listening to this song, a feeling of being lulled and sinking into warm honey, seeing the sun blue and the sky brown, has some likeness.
You aren't too far off, but the context isn't "word"able... If you are 51 in the handle because of birth year, we have a Hell of a crossover. I'm a 75 raised by a 5 and a 53 but preteen and up raised by some 6 and 62/64/65's, and by raised, I mean they lifted me so I could reach the bar and finish my teenage experience all boxes checked just about the time I completed the 14th year {I got a good head start} The poppy influenced OH so much of everything we both hold in memories, sonically, from Muddy Waters era {I spent many hours at John Lee Hooker's house doing a wiring job after a fire there, just north of San Jose in Los Altos, close to where I'd be stationed later for the last 13 years flying Combat Rescue for the military till I retired in 2020. {Moffett Field, Mountain View, CA} I got to pick at HIS axe, on his couch. He asked to hear MY music, and I said I'd go get my mixtape rom the car {This was 98 or 99, and I was 24 or 25 y/o} and he followed me out and sat in the passenger seat. It was a bootleg my buddy Walkman'ed from Counting Crows, Cracker and the Spin Doctors, 93 or 94 at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA. {post High School and pre-military for me} He keyed hard on "Low" He resonated and GOT it, and I knew it. I "got it" differently in each era/chapter of my own life. It's a new and different re-read each time I let years between the pressing of PLAY |>
@fossilbox1991 Oh NOW I get it :-) Your original comment was a rebuttal to custyfinkscar! Yours was an excellent rebut, congrats! Too bad I didn't get it the first time. Whatever, I adore this song, it's in my top 5 of all time, I can play it over and over and never get tired of it, especially the opening: one drum slam then the slow, chiming, rolling guitars.
Great song! I only like songs for the sound they make and this one has IT! Not many do and I don't really care about a songs message, I just go for the overall sound and this has it all.
@fossilbox1991 Jeez, do ya have to call me dumbass just cuz I missed a word? Especially since we're on the same side. Out of curiosity, which greedy drug addicts were you referring to? Not Bush, Nirvana,Sublime, Blind Melon, Chili Peppers - I guess they weren't greedy and they definitely had emotion. I don't know that much about the drug habits of the 2000s bands - please, tell all!
Forced, strained vocals and a guitar that's out of tune, beyond what would be within the limits of cool. BUT, a really awesome song, love it. Always listed among top songs of 90's rock. Will always love it.
one of my favorites. This song can never get old
WOW!!!!
I've been lucky to see them 4 times, this song always rocks live!
Six years later checking in. You are correct Andres.

Really a flawless performance of what was a sensational, kick-ass record.
This is ORIGINAL music and that's all that's all that matters. These guys set themselves apart. Lowery has one of those distinctive voices that makes all his music timeless !!
Great song. Listened to over and over during my commutes in Atlanta.

Fun song to play on guitar. Kind of a swing strumming pattern.
Pretty damn good. I think his voice straining just adds to the urgency of the chorus if you ask me. At least its in tune.

Weird question. Anybody know where I could find that badass hat he’s wearing!?

David's guitar still had the price tag on it. It isn't his best sounding guitar, I wonder if he returned it.
It was in tune when he bought it..

aow dwesome lope
El batero de los Pixies ahí en el fondo .
What happened to the singers voice and harmonies?
Old fashioned rock n roll, with grunge sound added. Use a old school Amp, crank it up with old school 3-way speakers. Won't need a subwoofer! 😅
Look at the veins on the lead singer pop out! Holler style of old school rock n roll. DAMN! I wish I was there to hear it.....😂
Not going to lie but I'm a little high right now 👍🚬
Wow....so cool
@@kevinbushracing58 yeah if you do drugs your super cool
Nick Diaz brought me here...
