Hi Lara, thanks so much for watching! I’m so glad the video was helpful, I know how hard it can be to keep coming up with new ideas. How have your classes been going?
@@MooncakeEnglish Pretty good!! I've been using your 'flashcards suggestions', such as "Fast/Slow reveal", "what's missing" and the children's favorite: SILLY BANANA!! They get really excited and engaged, and the most important thing: THEY LEARN!! I wish I could send you some whatsapp audios of them telling me how much they loved the class, but it's in portuguese I don't know if you would understand lol !! Thank you so much and keep posting
very helpful for my students

Thank you for all your video's, you are awesome! I teach English in Taiwan, and I learn so much from you.
I use to teach in Taiwan also, one of my.fave countries 💞💞💞 I lived in Taoyuan
@@Caryscookes My husband's family lives in Taoyuan. We used to live in Hsinchu County, but now live in Kaohsiung. Taiwan is a wonderful country.
Hi Karin, thanks so much for watching! I’m so glad you have enjoyed the channel 😊 Are schools open in Taiwan right now?
@@MooncakeEnglish yes, the schools were only closed the first two weeks after Chinese New Year. After that pretty much school every day.
@@TrCathy it's amazing
Great way to introduce patterns! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks for watching Language Lady! I appreciate your support 😊
Thank you for your ideas! I think this is also good for native speakers as getting them exposed to patterns is part of maths literacy. I enjoy it the extra bit when I can provide cognitive skills beyond a language (which is already a really cool gift, but if you can add without losing, even better!)
Hi Gabriela, I totally agree, that's why I love this activity because it's perfect for homeroom teachers working in ESL classes 😊
I never regret.. Watching your video, you are the best. I love you
Hi Ester, thanks so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊

Hi, thanks so much for watching and for the support!
Hi Jema, great video, thank you - I have found the game float or sink is good fun for online lessons. Big washing up bowl full of water. Different objects with flashcards. Students guess if it will float or sink. Drop the items in and see. For slightly older kids.
Hi David, thanks so much for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊 Sink or float is a great activity, kids love it! Thanks for sharing 😁
So helpful, thanks a bunch!
Hi Zoe, thanks so much for watching! I'm glad the video was helpful 😊

Hi Miss Judy, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so glad the channel has been helpful. Where in the world are you teaching?
Hi! Thank you so much for your advice, I will start doing prerecording classes to send to my students. They are from kindergarten from 18 months to 6 years. I'm from Nicaragua, but I'm working in Guatemala. Can I ask you which tool you use to edit the videos? to place the flashcards?
Hi Ruddy, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! In this video I used video editing software to help clearly explain the game. You can create something similar using powerpoint or a whiteboard within your teaching software. If you don't have the ability to share your screen or use a whiteboard, you can also do the same with flashcards and a wall or board behind you on camera. I hope that helps!
Hello! I've just found your channel and omg you're a life saver you're amazing! I found everything very useful. Thank you so much!
Hi Vale, thanks. so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so glad to know the channel has been so helpful 😊 Wherein the world are you teaching?
@@MooncakeEnglish in Argentina 🇦🇷 first year teaching so your channel is more than a life saver haha💕
Hi, Jema! I have a question. Do you think that for teaching English effectively a teacher needs a laptop? Or is it possible to teach students effectively using only be a tab (tablet)?
'be' is an extra word here obviously 😄
Hi Amelie, thanks for watching!
I think it really depends on requirements from employers but as long as you have a good connection and sound quality I don't think using a tablet would be an issue.
This is great, thanks!
Hi David, thanks so much for watching! I'm so glad it was helpful 😊
Great content! Could you tell me where you get this popping sound effect when displaying flashcards from?
Hi, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! The popping sound is from Peter McKinnnon's sound effects pack 😊
Hi..Started to watch your videos.. really interesting...will implement in my sessions.. Thank you.

Hi Shahrefa, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm so glad to hear the channel has been helping you with your classes. Where in the world are you teaching?

We are waiting, we are waiting 😎
Hi Alla, thanks for watching, I hope the video was helpful 😊
Hai..i'm from malaysia..can u give me some idea to teach them about body parts..i want my online class become more fun n not bored, how i can teach my children 3yrs old to make them understand well..please😓
Hi Shahrefa, thanks so much for watching!
When teaching body parts, I love making monsters! You first review the different body parts you want to practice. You then name a body part and have a student roll a die. Whatever number the die lands on, is the number of that particular body part the monster will have. You can then draw the monster as you go. You usually end up with a funny-looking monster and the class will have reviewed the body parts several times.
I hope that helps!
Hai,jema thanks for giving me ideas to make my teaching more fun n attractive..hope ur ideas can help me to teach my class about body parts next week..love n thanks😘😘
for kindergarten its bit boring
Hi Linda, thanks for watching! I think it depends on the age group you're teaching. If teaching 5-6 year olds, they may find it boring unless you make patterns challenging. For younger students though it has worked quite well in the past. That said, not every activity will work for every class so perhaps his might not be the right activity for the class you're teaching.
I hope the channel can offer some other ideas that will be suitable for your students!
