    Great analysis. Royals are reared in a very "unreal" environment and some never really catch on to normal behavior and mores outside their very small, protected walls. I believe both Andrew and Harry really never adjusted to real life, also evidenced in their strong military connection (a way of life where everything is thought-out for oneself, no insights needed). Their sense of "right and wrong" is just incomplete and self-centered, never understanding the concept of victims or the impact of their behavior on others. It's really living half a life.

      Very interesting insight 👍, but H was brought up the same as William and had less insular lives than the previous generation eg, Andrew and Charles. Thoughts? 😊🤔

    • @voices_vary
      @voices_vary Год назад +9

      @@leandabee I believe it's about their personalities and psychological makeups, and not generational differences. It always comes down to the process of self-realization and actualization. I believe William self-actualized, even if as difficult for him--but he made it. Odd, both Harry and Andrew are both the "spares" which means they may have had (and Harry still has) an erroneous notion that he's not good enough, thus low self-esteem. Insecurity has caused them to value external regimentation. Life is easier for them that way.

      While I think Royals need a great deal of socialization outside their own ‘bubble’. Harry and Andrew are both arrogant, self entitled, selfish ‘men’.
      Human nature needs boundaries and consequences for going beyond those boundaries. Something Royals not only rise above that, they have PR in place to hype anything they do. They are both shocked to find out the public views them almost the opposite of how they see themselves.

    After SCOOP
    Hi Shauna, Thanks, again for this one. I never made it, watching the Andrew interview, when it was broadcast…I’ve never cottoned to Andrew. There was something …off? about him. Even when he was a young man. I’ve no idea why, I’m not interested enough to examine it. About 20 minutes into the original interview, I’d had enough. Guess what!! The same thing happened with “Scoop” only I stuck with it because I like the actress, Billie Piper, I think I spelled that correctly.
    A few weeks ago, there was build up to a new list of names being released. Friends of Jeffrey. And, the media dropped it. Was that list made public? I’m sure Slick Willie (aka Bill Clinton) was listed, at least, he should have been listed. But….it’s like that part of the story died, innit??

    Another point to be made is about the decor at the New York mansion - we now know that the place was entirely decorated with NSFW, tasteless photos and paintings, some of it of Jeffrey and Maxwell themselves - and in the public spaces, including in the entry hall and in the staircases, where no-one could pretend they hadn't seen it.

    The late queen did well to force Andrew to settle and to strip him of his honorary patronages. And seeing how much Harry is like his uncle, I understand the efforts of the RF to make sure Harry had a purpose in life. (Unfortunately, along came the spider.) But as for Andrew, he can never come back as a working royal. And he really tainted his daughters' possibility to become working royals. I now understand why princess Beatrice hasn't already.

  • @SassySar

    I cannot fathom why any discussion would be out in the open unless they thought the house was bugged or they wanted to be seen. Surely Andrew is not that naive to think no one would see them. Maybe he wanted to be photographed stupidly showing his support. Unfortunately the Yorks should have been more careful about who they mixed with in their position. Plus Sarah became indebted to Epstein when he paid off monies owed to an ex-employee. One thing I can’t understand, where were the palace watchdogs or MI5. Surely there is someone keeping tabs and advising the Royals on who and who not to mix with! What’s sad is how these young girls get in this situation - where are their family and friends?

    • @ralphl7643
      @ralphl7643 5 месяцев назад

      My theory is that Epstein was trying to use his association with Andrew (and others) for protection from further prosecution. JE set up the photograph, and he had enough material on Andrew, plus the payoffs, to force him to be seen with him if he had the sense to resist.

    You're the Context Clue Detective! Gleaning the best information that's all out there in the open. Btw its been said that Andrew *had* to go see Epstein in person because Fergie had borrowed money from Epstein several years earlier and she was unable to pay it back and so he went to see him in order to have a conversation begging him to absolve her debt.

    • @van7242
      @van7242 Год назад

      This comment is the one that makes the most sense. We all know the Yorks owed Epstein and phones can be tapped. He would have stayed with him because Andrew is well known for considering himself 'hard up' and abusing his privileges. I can't say whether he DID anything once there. Personally I think a lot of people DO HORRIBLE THINGS but Epstein was one of the few who 'got caught'.🤢

    • @pdhywrd
      @pdhywrd Год назад

      I agree, he was protecting Fergie yet again. Virginia Guiffre/Roberts has repeatedly lied and changed her story. I believe that Andrew was told that the only way Epstein would absolve Fergie's debt was if Andy showed up and stayed thus giving Epstein 'Royal' approval. The Queen was terminally ill when the lawsuit started and was already dealing with Meg and Haz trouble. People settle lawsuits for many reasons and not always because they are guilty, often it is because, for whatever reasons, they don't want the hassle of the publicity and stress a lawsuit would cause. Andrew is meant to be a loving son and which loving child would put their dying parent through that stress.
      Epstein had links to many rich and powerful people and also to the 3 initial agencies. Many things can be used as blackmail material.
      In the UK a young woman who was groomed and ab'd by a gang has been jailed alongside the gang because she did exactly what Virginia has admitted to - introducing other young girls to the group so they were ab'd as well. In fact the British press treated her and her family far worse than the gang members and many members of the public seemed to have zero sympathy for her and most of the vitriol on SM was directed at her not the gang. Yet the same people are likely to be far more sympathetic towards Virginia and pour vitriol on Andrew....(.because he has privilege and class envy is real) even though even if he did do what Virginia accused him of he broke no laws due to her age (16 here in the UK) and many young women have taken a chance that they could turn the head of an older, powerful man. Plus the only 'proof' that they ever met is a photo which may or may not have been altered which, considering she has admitted to being wrong (lying) and altering her story, should not be 'proof' of anything.
      I believe that Epstein was a very bad person who used others to make himself powerful. Andrew is many things, spoilt, arrogant, obnoxious etc but I don't believe that he is a 'ped---le' . I don't believe that his security would allow him to do something that stupid. I do find it very strange that the only person in prison in the US over this is Ghislaine (tellingly not a US citizen) when many people were known to be 'friends' of Epstein. The only US citizen that the US media seem to be willing to connect to Epstein is Trump even though it is well documented that he only ever met Epstein when he attended events that Trump was at and that Trump banned him from Mar-el-Largo when he became aware that Epstein proclivities were questionable. Nothing is ever said about the many powerful people who are known to have travelled, on Epstein's plane, to his island.

  • @891Henry
    @891Henry Год назад +8

    I don't know whether the allegations were true or not. But Andrew's big mistake was denying the photograph early on, when it first appeared. If he had said yes, I was at that house a few times due to my friendship with Ms Maxwell but I don't remember this specific incident, he would have seemed open and honest. Everything else he could deny, and being intelligent enough to NOT do an interview, would not have landed in the mess he ended up in.

    I think it was about money. Both he and Sarah had borrowed money from the guy, I think Jeffrey was calling it in. I have always felt that Andrew got mixed up with some very corrupt and powerful men in the US and he became the scapegoat. Jeffrey had the goods on him and Sarah and they would call it in. I think to get to the bottom, then Sarah should really be questioned about her association and the girls, they also benefited financially from what I have heard. I think regarding the security officers, he probably dismissed them and probably told them that Jeffrey had security, otherwise I cannot think why they have not come forward or been questioned. I personally feel, Andrew was over his head dealing with that Sleaze and the sleaze was calling in a favour for him to be there.

At least Woody was cleared and no evidence found by Yale child psych. So there might be others, but not that 1 kid. He might well have such leanings but actress wife put up with him and tried to have control over his undoing.

      Additionally, every nurse, caseworker, social worker and members of the bbc all knew what Jimmy Saville was doing.

    Hold on a minute, just because they didn't see each other doesn't mean that they didn't email text or speak on the phone. So it makes perfect sense that Andrew feels he needs to explain to Jeffrey why he's completely cutting off all contact with him. Yes, it was an ilconceived idea, but understandable.

    • @dawnbauer8926

      @@thevintageread To clarify, the hypocrisy I'm talking about is the "pass" that some prominent men are getting for their extremely close relationship with JE--even after he "paid his debt to society"--and I say this advisedly because that deal he was able to negotiate was unbelievably lenient for what it is reported that he did, but that is a different discussion. And what about other RF members that have had VERY close friendships with reportedly horrible people such as Jimmy Saville. However, Andrew's life has been ruined by all of this --but nobody else's life has been. But I digress. It is scary that someone can make an unsubstantiated accusation and that everyone believes it. I am not trying to get into a slanging match here and I am not British and don't have a horse in this race, so to speak. But I, and many others, are perplexed at why Prince Andrew seems to be the scapegoat for for all of this --the facts of the accuser's character, proven lies, admitted perjury and that her story has changed several times, not withstanding. And, where were her parents? But, again, that is a different discussion. The interview was, of course, ill advised but I have noticed that almost no decisions are made by royal family members that are not decided on "in committee". Other family members and advisers weigh in. M and H seem to be the only exceptions to this. However, immediately after that interview, it was reported that many people didn't actually think it was that bad. In fact I remember one person saying that A sounded like they all sound (the late Queen's children)--spoiled, entitled, pompous and very aware of their position as children of the monarch. It wasn't until the news media started saying that it was a "car crash" interview that the general public started thinking it was. I find that very interesting. It kind of proves the power of the media.
      Over the years different royal family members have been disliked and unpopular--I remember when Princess Anne and Prince Edward were extremely unpopular and really disliked by the public. Now they are hailed as saviors of the monarchy. And Charles and Camilla--the fact that they have been rehabilitated is truly remarkable.
      As someone who was recently exonerated from the same accusations, by the same person, as Andrew's once said when asked about Andrew -- "I don't know if he
      did it or not, I wasn't there, but I do know that she is a liar and a perjurer and that she belongs in jail." I think, like all of his siblings, Andrew is naive and was spoiled. I am very surprised that he wasn't protected. At any rate, just my opinion. I thought that these RUclips channels were forums for debate.

    Good grief, this self-righteous holier than thou diatribe you're going on is insufferable. You're going on and on assuming, criticizing and judging the situation by how YOU feel about it and how YOU think he should feel about it. Was it a bad decision to have stayed at Epstein's house? Yes. Did his security detail fall down on the job by not seeing the photographer in the park? Not necessarily. I know Central Park well and saw the photos, and given the topography and where the photos were taken from, it would have been easy for them to not have seen them. A telephoto lens was used, so the photographer could have easily been a considerable distance away. Central Park is not the flat open space you're imagining it is.
    I'm no fan of Jeffrey Epstein by any stretch of the imagination and I genuinely believe Virginia was in it solely for the money. It was blackmail, pure and simple. After the hundreds, if not, thousands of men, she'd been sleeping with since she was 15, by her own admission, Andrew is the only one she chooses to go after? You don't find that even slightly suspicious? She shrewdly calculated the royal family would cave, and that's exactly what happened. The press gleefully whips this up to be an admission of guilt, which it was not. And now this man's life is ruined because some greedy little extortionist tramp pulled off a multimillion dollar con job.
    Was he guilty of extremely poor judgement? Absolutely. But I doubt his judgement was so poor that he would have remained friends with Epstein if he knew what was really going on. Do you seriously think Epstein went around bragging about what he was really up to? He had many high profile friends and acquaintances who would have run for the hills if they'd suspected what was really going on, that it's extremely doubtful he ever let it on to anyone.
    One last thing: Judge not lest ye be judged" is something you should take more to heart. As should: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I'm not a religious person at all, but I did learn those things when I was very very young and they stand the test of time.

      Well you have been able to express your opinion and that’s all I was doing. A few points you made are incorrect. 1: I made it very clear that I wasn’t even referring to the Roberts photo or case. 2: I did not even care if his security saw the photographer my point mentioning that was only to prove that his security was with him on the 4 day stay. 3: His defence for not seeing underage girls with Epstein was “there were so many people…like a railway station” My point was if that was true his security wouldn’t have let him stay. My focus were on his actions unrelated to Virginia Roberts. For the record Epstein had been CONVICTED so yes he did choose to make that visit after he was released from prison and I do not believe that is excusable. I would hold myself and anyone I know to that standard and I was expressing that in my channel. You can create a channel and defend Prince Andrew and I respect your right to do so. Finally you judged Virginia Roberts very harshly so it makes your last paragraph ridiculous.
