It's taken 8 years and the house is now worth around AUD$750k (USD$546k). I had the opposite of their situation as I saw rapid appreciation due to covid. My house being in a smaller, picturesque, lifestyle area it seen a massive influx of buyers escaping city lockdowns who could work remotely.
