Given the rise in values of older, well preserved, SUVs, I retired the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban Turbo Diesel, seen in this video, in spring of 2021. It's worth 3 times the purchase price, so doesn't make sense to risk driving it. The replacement is a 1999 Ford F350 with the 7.3 diesel engine.
If you remember the Clastic Astro Vans they had a cross between the clamshell and the barn doors, so in some ways they were the best of both worlds, too bad the Suburbans and Tahoes didn't get that option.
Hello, my friend, please tell me, do craftsmen in the United States integrate a panoramic sunroof into the gmt400 Sunroof? Looking for a video or any information about it. Thank you.
The split rear doors suck. They blind your rear view. The contacts to the rear defrost can fail in the door jamb. It's an easy fix but the defrost itself can also have more issues like a melting (purple +) wire at the "convenience center" panel.
I think you missed the most obvious reason to not have barn doors. It's the 6"-8"blind spot you get when the doors close rendering the rear view mirror useless.
great video! if the clam shell doors opened like the old station wagons then i'd have to say they were better, but i am all about using the truck without destroying the interior. barn doors are also better when it comes to trailers, and drive in movies...
I admit that didn't occur to me. While I agree with you in principle, pallets are loaded into pickup trucks with far greater frequency, and the trucks have a bed gate.

Is there any way to convert from barn doors to the tailgate

I just uploaded a Chevrolet Astro related video in your honour.
I like the barn doors. I have a 95 2 door. A lot of people dont know that theres a lever on the door jams u lift up and both doors fully open.
Glad to see you back!
Very good video to compare. Trailer issues come into play. I'm not going to do much pulling but I love the look of barn doors.

Nice. Keep the upload coming .
Very nice video as always.

For visibility out the back with the barn doors
try to load a pallet with a forklift with a hatch back.

If you need a forklift to load something, chances are it’s going to be better off on a flat bed or a box truck
