I have a really urgent question ive been Stuck and trying to figure this out for months and no one can seem to help. Is fire academy the same as taking fire 1 & fire 2 certification? Or is that different. How do you apply into fire academy

Great question. Fire 1 and Fire 2 are the certifications from the State of Utah. There are a few different fire academies throughout the state that offer these certifications. These videos detail our new-hire academy; which is our newly-hired individuals. Some already have their Fire certifications, some don't. Throughout their 12 weeks, they go through all the training to become not only certified firefighters with the state, but also trained and ready to work in our stations. Hope this helps!

    15:35 ... No gloves ?

That’s a good observation sir. This is the instructor displaying a PPE violation, which definitely goes against the “lead by example” mantra.
I’m certain he’ll be embarrassed to see this pointed out, but we’ll cut him some slack knowing that the instructors are putting in the same effort as the recruits at training and PT, plus showing up and leaving an hour before and after them.

Thanks for responding ! 👍... not trying to be the “You Tube” police 😆... I teach at our provincial fire academy, and it seems like we always have to stress the use of gloves when hose handling etc. I appreciate that instructors passion, and I’m sure you guys turn out well trained recruits... Keep up the good work. 🚒🇨🇦

@@UnifiedFireUtah your whole statement is based around your instructor.. your teaching an academy dork! don’t give this BS leavin an hour before hour after blah blah blah.. you signed up for it right?! Your getting overtime pay right?! You gonna make a channel, and respond to people, then make it right.. exactly what your teaching these kids.. or you bring a lack of respect to your channel, your dept, etc etc

@@UnifiedFireUtah your statement def gives me a very briefly based opinion that your not the person to teach those that are joining an entry level based position
