One of the things I see consistently in Parlay videos is the admiration and respect that Colin and crew have for the talent of others (both artistic and technical). Another reason I’m proud to be a patron of Parlay.
Another great episode. I love how you talk about knowing your limitations, I think many of us fall victim to getting in over our heads. Dude with the gel coat color match is an artist, I couldn’t tell a difference in any of them LOL
I remember that episode when you made the mold, it was quite a while ago. I recall how careful you were just because you knew you wouldn't be using it for awhile. Looks like that care payed off well. Your attention to detail as well as your perseverance will continue to serve you well. You inspire. Be well!
Actually was surprised you didn't mention that the lion fish were an invasive species during your last , and or initial video . So glad you came back around to educate the masses , that may have thought, oh he's shooting fish :)
Julio is an artist!!!!! So excited to see the extension when it is done!!! Such a small thing, but I could totally understand how a bigger one would make life easier. It would be like having small porch v.s just steps going into your house
Of course the mold was perfect... When you put the right amount of care and attention to details, projects usually turn out well.... You're living proof of that...
You gotta love these guys.. middle of "nowhere", no special mixing equipment, color comparators, lighting.. Just 100% experience and an understanding that a 5 of gel coat is half a year pay...
Reminds me of watching my late dad mix polish colours for French polishing - he could always tell if a colour would match and not always with the item to be polished to hand. Just had a great eye for colours!
You guys are masters at rolling with the punches when events throw you a curve. We don't have enough release agent. Cool! Let's make the templates we need. All without missing a beat. Awesome!
hey col what a journey in a short time , u had the mechanics and the electronics now u have build or repair , couple more to learn , rigging , sv delos did it saved $80,000 , then sail making, hey u can call the experts to make sure u did it rite , hope u splash soon ! PARTY TIME IS NEAR ENJOY the whole crew of parlay u have truly earned it
COLIN YOUR HAVE TO VERY GOOD TEAM WORKING YOUR BEAUTIFUL BOATS PERFECT WORKING HARD FOR SOMETIMES BUT YOUR ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL ME AND MANY OTHER GUYS IN WORLD!!!
Colin's dedication to getting things 'right' is legendary. Panels with a diamond skid pattern are available from HydroTurf, but their diamond pattern isn't even close to the Lagoon pattern.
Is it remarkable, outstanding, or just flat out genius. But, that is a great thing to show the community. Everyone now has the ability to make new decking for a portion of the cost with excellent results. Great Job Guys.🍺🍺✌️
You can always carry a paint chip to a paint store and get them to match it for you. I don’t know if there’s any chain stores like Sherwin Williams, but they’re the best. They have whats called a PMS color matching that’s the protocol for all the paint colors. You know you should be able to mix ANY COLOR out of the basic primary colors. I owned a sign company and actually used to enjoy that! Anyone who’s worked in a sign shop can usually mix color with the best of them. I’m just starting to notice how much of that carries over to other “professions”! LOL!
Love your channel! So fun to watch! Quick tip to get fiberglass off your skin...Use a dryer sheet! All you have to do is get it wet and then wipe it on the areas that were exposed. Works every time and makes you smell good too!
Your friend's blister is impressive. It's filled with lymph fluid. Popping a blister is the one thing you DON'T want to do. I spent a week in the hospital when one on my leg got infected and developed sepsis. I spent almost 2 months in the worst pain of my life and here it is over 3 years later and it's still affecting my health. Too late to do anything about it now but remember this in the future. See a doctor before you do anything.
My dad used to mix paint of all sorts to match and did that a large part of his life, people came far to utilize his services. Now he's 71 and retired, was amazing to see him work. At times I regret not going in his footsteps. Fun seeing that again "through" Julio.
Damn, that Lionfish sting looked painful. Just took me back a few years ago, when i accidently boiled my hands to second degree with hot water. Had blisters like that on both hands and opened them the exact same way. Always kept a safe distance to lionfish though :) Happy that the molding turned out great. Take care guys! Hope to meet you out there someday!
I love your pursuit of perfection in, lets admit it, a less than ideal workshop environment! It's a testament to all your skills and "just get it done" attitude that things like this non-skid come out so well. Great work ;-)

It will be hard to believe that Parlay ever was wrecked so badly when you are done and a pure joy to sail such a beautiful boat around the world.
I dont know how u guys dont lose your minds. That tough work.
Nice work gents .Julio is a master! Smartest thing ever was to leave it to the expert.
Cheers

Well said.

Collin Your Spanish is getting fluent and natural.
Legend has it that you got to drink that blister water to get completely well.....:) enjoy !
Julio is an artist!!!!! So excited to see the extension when it is done!!! Such a small thing, but I could totally understand how a bigger one would make life easier. It would be like having small porch v.s just steps going into your house
That colour mixing was strangely fascinating! Cool video.
Seeing Me and Julio Down by the boatyard.🎶

The look on the faces of Tom and Colin during that "Fuck" moment. lol The pucker factor must have been off the charts. Good job, as always.
I like how you quote mark twain in your introduction.

Wow...your views went up fast! Merry Christmas!
Great video as usual....was holding my breath when you were unmolding...

I've never skipped ahead so quickly than when you said you were going to pop that blister. Thanks for the heads up!
Two layers seems smart.
That's some awesome skill matching the gel coat
It's going to be amazing.
That colour matching guy was an artist, well worth what ever you paid him to get the white right.
COLIN YOUR HAVE TO VERY GOOD TEAM WORKING YOUR BEAUTIFUL BOATS PERFECT WORKING HARD FOR SOMETIMES BUT YOUR ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL ME AND MANY OTHER GUYS IN WORLD!!!

What an artist the colour matcher - wonderful choreography - condensing several days into a few minutes and showcasing the artform - super
Step by step you are getting there!

Awesome job dudes!!
I love watching you guys with all the ups and downs.
Almost finished….then back on the water. Merry Christmas and enjoy all you have worked so hard for.
Learning by watching. Planning, prepping, executing, modifying, success. Yeah!
That transition from boat shot to the bucket of gel coat was cleeeaaan 👌 I see you editing
Sailing into Freedom was wondering where you are. Hopefully your launched and well on the ocean.
Should look to have a couple of the Zookeeper Lionfish Containment Unit for catching them.
AWESOME video!
This is great!! As someone who's pretty good at color match, I learned a few things. Thanks Colin!

Your content never disappoints bro,you an the boys stay safe and well
Excellent video
Loved the suspense of demolding the non skid - solid episode !!!
I love your pursuit of perfection in, lets admit it, a less than ideal workshop environment! It's a testament to all your skills and "just get it done" attitude that things like this non-skid come out so well. Great work ;-)
Colin, Have you ever tried using air to get the non-skid off the mold? I've used air to get other things apart.
You guys do amazing work.
@17:24. Blow air under the mould. Using a tool can always take off chunks.
