Love Jamie! What a legend. I went back and watched some old episodes the past week. I didn't realize Jamie has been around since like episode 10. IMO, he's just as important to this channel as Colin himself. He's been by Colin's side through it all...
Is there anyone more humble then Jaime? Especially after the fact he’s been captain of a sailboat this last year and he still just gets on Parlay like the new crew member. What a wonderful human being.
Your Grin when Jamie arrives - pretty much sums up how everyone here feels too! So good to hear that laugh and see you both just slip back into that friendship. Hope hes back again soon!
I think you have Yanmar gear box SD50 ?. There has always been a problem with this model. They sliding selector slip due to the surface being to smooth. You should lap them every 500 hours!. Its quite a easy job. You will need to split the engine gear box. Remove the gear oil and push pull selector from the side of the gear box. Undo the bolts from the input socket housing, and slide it out. Now lap the cones on the selector .if you need to remove it, undue the castle nut, its reverse thread!. Clean everything and put it bake together. Its a mad design. They don’t sell this model of gear box anymore, replaced by the SD60. I had a few charter boats with this gear box. So i became quite experienced. Hope this helps you problem. Nice to see you enjoying your fruits of all your hard labour. Looking forward to seeing you get to next. 👍
There's a fair chance Tom has a pilonidal sinus. Antibiotics at best, surgery at worse. Got to do something before crewmates throw you overboard due the stench of death permeating throughout the boat.I found salt water helped heal mine after surgery. All the best Tom.
Getting ready to have my 4th surgery on one. sometimes they close on their own, but mostly I've had to have surgeries. sucks.. but yes... location says pilonidal sinus/cyst.
@@johnm7437 mine just splits occasionally but never not healed. I rub a little high quality olive oil and it heals overnight. Olive oil is anti bac and anti inflammation. I'm lucky in the regard that it heals
@@johnm7437 I was lucky that my surgeon was at a teaching hospital and used a new technique developed by the Greeks( lots of hairy bums) 😄. Instead of leaving the wound open and repacking it every day, they remove all hair follicles and the wound is closed. Been all good for years now.
Woohoo! Welcome back Jamie! It hasn't been right without you but I'm glad that you got experience as a Captain in the Caribbean. No one other than Colin deserves to sail Parlay more than Jamie, its great to see the Dream Team back together!

As for the bacteria in the port aft cabin that may be effecting peoples health. As I recall that cabin side was the sunken portion of the boat before Collin and his then Marine Partner bought it. Anyway the cabin probably has more mold and higher level of bacteria compared to the other spaces of the boat that didn’t get submerged. To mitigate it you could Ozone treat each space by isolating the rooms and locally treat them. The Ozone generators are effective to kill mold, and other bacteria. Look up the safe protocol online at a reputable source for the application method as Ozone can be good and not good to breathe in higher concentrations. Cheers J
Love that Jamie is back!! Felt a different vibe in this video, the sound was off, Super low sound when talking, then super loud background noise and music, I played musical chairs with my volume control.
@@nooneanybodyknows1321 Yes, that's one way to hear them talking, but you would still be turning it down on background and music, normally the sound on Parlay videos is good.

Colin mate,I saw your chat with James from sailing Zingaro. It was my first introduction to Parlay revival. Really fascinating story! I’m a kiwi too, from Wellington originally but living in Motueka now after a long stint overseas. I find you super relatable and almost like someone I know. Anyway, I just finished binge watching all 144 episodes since James put up that interview 😬 Crazy journey you’re on bro, very entertaining to watch. I wish you all the best man, you’ve unknowingly been helping me though a really hard time (my dad has terminal cancer) with all the positivity you project. So thank you and keep it up! Unfortunately now I have to wait a week between episodes like everyone else 🥲 Oh and when you make it down to NZ if you’re cruising to the Abel Tasman national park let me know. I’d love to buy you and the crew a beer in Kaiteriteri! Cheers 🤙🤙🤙

Welp, I just binged Parlay, start to current, in 5 days! And now it's time to ring that bell. What an emotional ride it has been; happy, sad, some anger and frustration and seemingly everything in between. Amazing project! Since Dec 29/21, I've watched all of Delos, La Vagabonde, Zingaro, David Shih, and I think Parlay is now my favourite. Colin's captaincy is simply awe inspiring, from your attitude, Colin, to your knowledge of sailing, systems, maintenance, and refitting, I'm just in awe. Plus I'm a touring musician, so kudos to the musical chops onboard, as well. One thing, I'm anxiously awaiting an update on Lindor's pathology results. He's looking fit in the last couple episodes, so I'm holding out hope for a good result. The loss of Marty was a real punch in the gut. Anyway, thanks for everything. Truly a great channel, and I look forward to your continued journey.
Colin, good to see Jamie back and enjoying News Years on Parley. A few critiques, as others have stated, your sound appears to be overdriving, also during the discussion with Jamie and yourself, the camera work was jumpy. Finally, prior to completion of Parley, your videos had a subject or focus. I do enjoy your videos, but in the last few episodes , they had a home movie feel. Thanks for taking us on your adventure, looking forward to your adventure through the canal and onto the Pacific. Safe travels.
I'm not trying to diagnose the medical issue without seeing it. I had something called a palanoidal cyst. I eventually had to have surgery to remove it. You may want to look into that. It used to swell up and be a real pain the ass (pun intended), but it is gone now and I am very grateful to the surgeon.

I can't say how much I enjoy you and the group enjoying life and not grinding away on fixing the boat. Are you guys going to try and beat the hurricane season and make a run for the med? Please make a stop in Rota Spain and stop by Pedro's on the beach. #ENVY You guys deserver this time. Work out the kinks and get your sea legs.
Great to have Jamie back. Hopefully he gets another Boat to run. Once you are a Captain of your own vessel you always long for it again. Also,So he doesn’t get into a rut and just loaf around. (Relax a little) He could then start his own channel. Parlay Too.
This episode made miss Maria my 2nd favorite person to ever appear on Parlay. Lyndsay is a legend for her iron stomach and concern for others well being.. hats off to her.. So happy to see Jamie. I never doubted his return.
If you have crew members that get those boils than take 2 or 3 plain aspirin and make it into a paste and place onto and in the boil and cover with a bandage . Try to keep the aspirin wet with a few drops of clean water and as it dry's it will pull out any infection they might have . After just a few days the boil will be gone . It also works for spider bites as well as some snake bites as well .
Boil the kettle take a milk bottle and fill it to the top, then empty the bottle and place it over the boil.It will hurt but it will draw the boil out as the bottle cools.I did this when i had 4 boils back in the eighties, one boil was just about 20mm from my dung hole.Painful bloody things.
