L love briggs and stratton
I have one like this but it is a 3.0 and I need a belt and I do not know the size. Does Walmart sell it etc etc.
orielys or any auto parts place has the belts they let you go back in the back and try them till you find one
I have the same model/engine, 1979, starts every time, run goods at idle and if I throttle slowly to full, it runs good! But if I throttle a little to fast, it will die. Slowly meaning 5-6 count, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006. Acts like its not getting enough gas if throttled to fast? What do you think it could be? fuel pump diaphragm?
there aren't any diaphragms. the screw you saw me turn the big flathead in the side of the carb. go counterclockwise just a little.
Please go through the ignition system in minute detail. I mean how to get the flywheel off. Test the coil. Test the points and condenser. The replace or repair decision. Upgrade to electronic ignition system decision.
I think this is a great engine and we should keep them working.
Are 3hp or 5hp carbs compatible with 2hp Briggs?
I'm not sure.
Ok I have this exact model. I know nothing about them except they can edge when they run...haha! Hubs unexpectedly passed, so teaching myself about all the tools we have. It's a great edger! I'm going to check your suggestions. I do know where the gas goes and now I need to check for oil...among a few other things! Does this have a air diaphram? or just air filter? Could spark plug be an issue? Thank you!
No diaphram. Make sure oil is full. Take off air filter put your hand over carb and pull a few times. This usually gets the gas flowing. Then pull no choke till it fires. Yes plugs can go bad.
Keep me informed ill try and help if i can.
I'm restoring one of these and the carburetor is missing parts, do you know where I can get them, it needs the spring, the L shaped pivot thing and some other stuff but I can't seem to find it
just go to small engine shops and ask for 2 3 or 4 hp flathead briggs motors. youll find one kicking around somewhere. i might even have one at my shop. ill look for you tomorrow
are y'all able to to get a gas tank for a briggs stratton 2hp power trim 150 I need one
