    Thankfully I haven't had to use my sidewall patches yet but last year I did have to use the Colby emergency tire valve. Not on a tire though. We took our travel trailer up to the Yukon and a rock broke off the low point water drain valve. We lost all the water out of the holding tank. I was rummaging through my misc hardware to find a bolt that I could jam in the end of the hose and then I remembered the Colby valve. It fit perfectly into the hose. I tightened it like you would tighten it into a rim and it worked beautifully. It held water for the rest of the trip until I got home and could make a permanent repair. I was impressed.

    You did that on a smooth spot. What if it was on side tread or letters?

      Shave it down?

      We include plenty of sand paper to smooth out any lettering. It can take awhile, but we have lots of videos of this on our RUclips channel if you'd like more information.

      @GlueTread yeah ill definitely check that out. I know I blown many sidewalls and it's nice to see someone makes products like this. I would like to see a kit where you could melt a patch on nice and strong and flexible with a small torch. That's just my opinion. Keep up the good work 🫡🇺🇲

    Thanks for the update. I have had the Glue Tread kit for about 2 years unused without the spray accelerant. I was thinking of buying the spray to lesson cure times, should I store them different locations to prevent hardening?

    Wonder if it would hold up running through mud ruts if you were on a rough trail to get back to your trailer?

    What if the hole is on an uneven part of the tire? Like tread area, or even on raised lettering? Instead of the perfectly smooth part you fixed?

    Does it freeze if left out

    • @GlueTread
      @GlueTread Месяц назад

      It doesn't! It won't freeze in anything above -4 degrees F.

    Dose it work in very cold weather? Like -20 Celsius? Thanks!!

      We don't suggest storing it for a long time in very cold weather. Anything above -4 degrees F will work just fine.

    I just recently put a kit together, purchased separately, the glue tread kit, a inflation/ tire repair plug kit, and valve stem repair kit. It was $100 bucks. I bought the kit for a Polaris 6x6 used for fighting brush fires, why spend a $175- 275 for an inclusive kit that can be created a la carte for $100 or less?

    • @GlueTread
      @GlueTread Месяц назад

      The Montana Made Cordura Bags and Montana Made CNC Machined Aluminum T-Handles increase the cost of this kit. And both can't be purchased a la carte!

    I thought you did one on tirejet??

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  Месяц назад +1

      We did. Different product. TireJect will seal punctures and leaks, Glue Tread will seal a tear or in the case of the video an actually hole that has been drilled in the side of the tire.
