This is a song for Great Lent. Sung during the Presanctified Liturgy. Absolutely beautiful but more than that the meaning is what is so important. It is followed by prostrations and prayers.
Da ispravitsya molitva moya, yako kadilo pred Toboyu: vozdeyanie ruku moeyu, zhertva vechernyaya. Gospodi, vozzvakh k Tebe, uslïshi mya: vonmi glasu moleniya moyego, vnegda vozzvati mi k Tebe.

@007Phonse Yes great orthodox's tradition. Also in GB for Men and Boys Choir: King's College, St John's College(Cambridge); Choir of New College, Christ Church Cathedral Choir, Choir of Magdalen College(all in Oxford); Westminster Cathedral Choir, Westminster Abbey(London) and more.
@007Phonse One of the Christian traditions which is seldom used now by the Church in the West is the choral singing during the Mass (the Catholic Mass). As a Filipino, however, we Catholics in the Philippines sing the liturgical songs and the communion songs complete with the choir and, if a solo is required in the song, a soloist singing the solo part.
@007Phonse Oh ok, now I undestand. You spoke about the controversy in the Anglican clergy. Many traditional Anglicans asked to join the Catholics of Rome. Yes delicate situation.
So blessing video God bless the boys and all of us.Thank you Slobodane for sharing this video with me!
Beautiful! The Moscow Cathedral's Choir, is THE best choir in Russia!

Search for "Чесноков", you'll find four sheets of this piece: three for alto solo, one for baritone solo.
Agree with you. But also we can hear this songs in orthodox church in USA or Canada.
Absolutely splendid! It's a pity that the great repertoire of the russian church music is so poorly known here in the west.
@Navajo549 in amazon com title: Missa mystical
Look the title, you can see the name.
I presume the adult chanters are from the Moscow Cathedral Choir and the treble soloist is from the Moscow Boys Choir.
quite eery but great!
With the same album InQuires?
@lillymarie726 Byzantine catholic? But this is Russian Orthodox, didn't you guys break off from us back in the 300's
Is there a non-chant version of this somewhere? In the Lutheran church, this is sung in 2 parts rather than chanted.
