Jeongyeon wrote the lyrics to this song, and in one of their lives they mentioned that the writers get to assign who sings which part. If you're dismayed at Jeongyeon not getting lines, understand that she may have had a certain vision in this song that she thinks suit specific members.
+ Also, this covers the chorus and bridges and ad-libs. Jeongyeon and Tzuyu sing in the verses--they have a chunk of lines there.
It's uncertain if everytime they write it they get to assign the lines, this song is a good example since jeongyeon wrote it for jihyo's album, so her vision would be just jihyo singing it, if she redistributed it for everyone is unconfirmed. I agree with your point of view though, but it could've been better distributed
I hope she did distribute the lines cuz if she did I will have peace of mind knowing she is happy with her work.
@@GabrielAlves-ig6wh the way I approach this is that I also understand that the songs they sing are works by producers and composers, who are artists themselves. So I try to respect their direction for their song, too! Even if sometimes it’s a disappointing single line for my bias (though that is extreme and thankfully not too prevalent in TWICE).
Based on Nayeon and Jihyo’s bts from their solo recording, I think recently they do work with the producers on how their songs are sung. I just trust that TWICE sing the song as they all understand and intend to present it and enjoy the product for what it is.
Of course, having a different opinion is valid, but a lot of fans nitpick the number of seconds each member sings, and I think it sours their experience. I just recently saw how fans complained that CY has little lines in One Spark, but disregard how she looked so happy performing the song (plus she gets her spotlights in other songs!). There’s a give and take/a balance that I think TWICE already know.

@@singingwhale977 if she didn’t distribute the lines, I think she would still be happy with her work! Trust the girls since they do have a say on their outputs now, and collaborate with the producers of the songs they perform. They will not release things they are unhappy with, and the fact that this song was put out must mean Jeongyeon is happy with it, regardless of the seconds she sings in the song 😁

Jihyo said "it was her and me" according to the subtitles, and before it Nayeon does say "jihyo" and something else but it wasn't translated, so jihyo is confirmed to have done it with someone else, but it's unconfirmed who did it with her until someone translates what exactly they said

So, according to their comeback live, jeongyeon asked who's voice was that (the C6 high note as they were talking about how Nayeon spoiled it with a little scream, so it's referencing that high note), and nayeon asked something with "Jihyo" in it, but her question wasn't translated, it looks like she's asking if it was jihyo, and jihyo's answer was "it was her and me" according to the subtitles, but jihyo says something with "Unnie". With that:
- Jihyo is confirmed to take a part in the high note with someone else
- Jeongyeon is confirmed to have not assigned the lines, as she would obviously know who've done it if she assigned the lines
So now we just need to wait for a clearer translation of what they said

@@hiitsmesahi no, members distributed the lines, and it's not the first time Jeong give the most lines to Nayeon, they are real good friends, so she give her a lot of lines, and also, Jeongyeon is smarter then you guys and now that Nayeon have the perfect voice for most twice songs, and this song is with a lot of falsetto and head voice, which Nayeon, Jihyo and Mina have more easy at doing.

Yes, mina sang it in the 2nd chorus and it just sounds different, and following the structure of the 2nd chorus, 1st and 3rd chorus would also have the members who sang the chorus to sing the post chorus too, and tbh it's clearly nahyo

do they have ability to hit the notes they're given? no. agility? no. stability? sana has a very unstable nasal voice and mina cant even open her mouth on stage.
No doubt jeongyeon >> mina and sana in vocal technique, but it's obvious that her husky and deep tone is not the go to for the arrangers when deciding the lines, that's why jeongyeon gets less lines but with more power nowadays. Bloom is a great example, they got jeongyeon deep and sultry lines to sing (2nd verse and her bridge line which btw sounds amazing), while giving the chorus to the other more skilled vocalists and their go to members in terms of recording high lines (nahyo), and also gave sana and mina the high pitched chorus because even tho jeongyeon>>them in vocal technique, they have more ease on singing higher (it doesn't mean they are better, they just have ease in singing higher keys because of their lighter tone)

Tzuyu is now 6th in the album, most of it deemed to be her lines is actually Sana (for example new new first chorus and bloom’s post chorus), Sana is 3rd, Mina 4th, Jeongyeon 5th, Tzuyu 6th. She shined the most in the title track but shined less in the album along with Jeongyeon. The album was more for SaMiNaHyo.
